simply attach an automatic wiper to the top which rakes material as it rotates. it could even be a button to rotate whenever it jams, absolutely insane how a here few bucks could save thousands

Some crushers do use hydraulic breaker arms but a lot of people don't like them because they tend to damage the crusher over time. Hooks are a quick fix but they don't always work. Then you have to crane it out or sometimes a thermal lance is used to cut the boulder. Not so much now since someone hit a moisture pocket and it blew back in his face....

IND.

I think that the hook is an ingenious piece of Engineering Design. Hooky enough to be identified as a hook but not too hooky where it could hook itself in the crusher and become jammed. The skilled operator will be able to remove most rocks that are small enough to pass through the gap of the crusher. It is also, top to bottom, the height of several Elephants standing on top of one another.

What they need to clear the jam is a grapple to grab the stuck peaces then drop them brake them up to feed into the grinder.

In the lime quarry we had a small wedge on a steel cable. We would change the shape or angle of the rock that got stuck in the primary. It was very effective.

I never even thought of this as a thing that is very satisfying to watch and hear. I just want to scrape the sides with that hook and clean things up between loads whether stopped up or not. Weird.

This process is old. You may consider using a rock breaker plus a rock grab.

They should have a better way to clear boulders that jam up the crusher then what they used in the video.

The trucks carry 100 tons, those big rocks can be 5-10 tons. You'd need one heck of a gripper.
