if there is an award for the most frustrating job in the world, it must go to the hook operator !!
Just out of curiosity, why the hook, instead of something like a hard-mounted long-reach excavator boom, where you could just reach down and shove the stuff around as needed?
Would have to be a pretty long boom.

Iron ore is very heavy. The load will reach the truck's weight capacity before the cubic capacity.
