Hello from the U.S. The price for this watch is absolutely a killer. I would buy an Epix Pro or a Fenix 7 Pro, especially since we are seeing a lot of discounts here. It does look like the best Fenix ever made though
@@dnice362 of course the 8 has the most features, however this time it's upgraded features that many people do not care about, while the price jump was big. I upgraded from Fenix 6 and compared the 7 pro sapphire solar titanium (-40% price) to the 8 (-10%) side by side. It was not even a hard decision, keeping the 8 was not an option. The money is not really a problem for me, however going with the 8 would have felt like burning a couple of 100€. 7 pro is much better value if you can get a good deal
I own Fenix 8 - 51 Amoled. Watch deeming screen during night is very aggressive (despite the settings you have - mine is set in top brightness) Result.. in the night the watch is almost unusable.. this is such a HUGE issue.. never had similar problem with Epix Pro Amoled or Fenix 7X.. Garmin just don’t listen to the thousands complaints about this in Garmin forums.. they pretend it’s not there.. trust me.. it’s there.. in the night it’s nightmare.. i almost regret replacing my 51 Epix Pro😢😢
Exactly that. Not only in the night though… I would say generally in low light conditions (e.g dark room) but in the night any small letters or numbers are unreadable! If i send light to the screen for example with iPhone’s torch then this amoled screen immediately wakes up and becomes super readable! A very big issue for me! In some RUclips videos some creators show this on camera
I know the problem exists (I follow garmin forum) but the strange is that it's not common, a lot of people doesn't have it. It's so strange, it's seems like there's a group of F8 with this problem (at the sensor, I think) and other not. Because the big firmware update doesn't resolve your problem
I prefer the MIP always on display. Lots of times I just want to glance to see the time without doing the ol raise to wake wrist gesture. Right now as I type this test using both hands I can easily see the time without doing any wrist twisting. Just cannot get past the constant wrist moving to see the time. Also the AMOLED times out and your screen info changes. The MIP screen info is always the same.
La 965 est presque parfaite (je préfère suunto race S, mais je porte les deux car les bips/laps sont plus sonores sur la garmin que sur la suunto). Son gros défaut : autonomime à revoir
How long does it take for you to get GPS lock? My F8 47mm Solar takes more than 3-4 minutes whereas Epix Pro gets GPS lock in 8-10 seconds max. I have got a replacement and that one also has the same issue. GPS lock takes forever. I am running the latest software and also updated and loaded maps from Garmin Express as well. Really weird.
For a brand new top of the line, super expensive model, the UI lag and delay when pressing buttons is just unacceptable. Same old chip seems lazy and it shows
No one ever mentions the absolutely terrible Bluetooth range on the Fenix 8, I can put my phone down in the living room, walk to the adjacent room and it disconnects. Not sure if it’s a bug fix or a hardware issue?
Ive heard a few people say this, few and far between. I can leave my phone any where in my home and go anywhere else in the house and mine doesnt disconnect. Seems like a few and far between issue, not sure what could cause that
@@ChrisAbces123456Not the comment you intended I’m sure. This is objectively one of Garmin’s worst releases in while. Even if you subtract the price increase.
Garmin customer service is horrible...my fenix Sapphire screen went bad at about three year marks and customer service would not stand by their product. 750.00 for a watch that lasted three years is BS....screw Garmin, not worth the price.
@@robhunt8378 I own both the 47 f8 amoled titanium and 965. You’d be hard pressed to notice the difference between them. Plastic also brings cost down.
@@robhunt8378I am a very skinny guy who bought this watch for non running reasons. I am 108lbs, 5'5" and very skinny wrist, I honestly hardly notice the watch on my wrist and I thought the size and weight were going to be a huge issues, but turns out it's not. Just sharing my two cents.
Too many software bugs on the Fenix 8 for me. It’s alll about the Enduro 3 😍 Nice video lads 👊🏽
So which high end watch would you recommend now? Im torn between Polar V3, FR965 and Fenix 8 47mm.
@@uhuhuhuhuhuh91 beaten all these.. personally I’d still get the F8 47mm tbh
did anyone notice, a 5k estimate time of 14:17 with a v02max of 74 🤯 super elite

Epix pro gen 2 51mm sapphire is way better
Are those scuba rated?
Do those have this new and improved heart rate?
The buttons leak proof?
Those discounted was sapphire?
Do they have voice commands?
Вы правы 100% согласен с вами . F 7 pro - это лучшие часы.

You were running in Athens! That is sweet at least! May I ask if you are running also the Athens Marathon, the Authentic?
Could you review the Amaz fit T-rex 3? I know that garmin makes. Views, but there’s real competition out there that deserves the sport light :)

Can you explain it a bit better? So screen is super dim just during the night (because of light sensor), is that correct?

If I could potentially get a base model version at 873 instead of 999, would that be better than getting the old model?
I'm curious if there will be some new reveals at CES 2025

Mike, real talk - please try and eliminate the hedging “kind of” comments in these reviews. Makes it really hard to listen to.
Kind of a good watch 😂

Stole the words out of my mouth.
Is the 7 Pro better than the 8?
No
43mm is the smaller size?
43, 47 and 51
Absurd price :( Think I'll wait for the 975
they didn't change the charging...ugh...
Won't be buying as i 7s is still good, but glad they are trying to compete with the apple watch.

Too big for running in my opinion.
47mm F8 sapphire amoled is perfect size/weight for running. The slight slimness over the epix pro makes it feel very close to my 965.
And heavy, and thick. Not that it's not doable but Forerunners are light plastic for a reason.

The case scrathes too easy for my liking
Sure why not buy another battery watch that cost thousands that u will have to replace in 2 years 😂 how stupid u have to be
