Listening to this mix gives me a lot of nostalgic emotions, remembers me of these eternal summers when I was 12, playing SNES, N64 or Tibia (an old MMORPG) since the very begining of the morning just to kill time before hanging out with my fellas, just to return for dinner and keep playing again. Good old times when we had no worries at all.
I've never understood why, but floating islands always trigger a deep sense of longing, like no other fantasy settings. The feeling is so powerful, it makes me want to cry. I remember the first time seeing Castle in the Sky, and it moved me so deeply, I was in a daze for days.
Because gravity only affects 80 km above the earth's mass which is why space is only 80km above sea level and if you go under the earth's crust into agartha 80km into the center of the sphere earth in the core there is no lava but floating in the center in no gravity with 80 km of space inbetween is the floating city you remember in your dna
It's the ultimate form of daydream escapism. Looking up at the sky out of school window, looking up while working in a field. My favourite song in the game, apart from Chrono’s theme maybe but when this played for the first time when Melchior was talking about the masamune, I think that was when I fell absolutely in love with this game. Anyways, nice cover and illustration, I like how it almost sounds like clocks ticking, though maybe that’s just me.

In my opinion, the listening context for a piece of music is pretty important, and there's a wellspring of interest in this kind of loop format from people who listen to music while working. I've been listening to this while drawing, and the piece has just enough variation to loop without being repetitive. This style of mixing and sound choice is really unique and relaxing too. I also love "Flower" and will definitely be adding it to my 'chill game covers' playlist (even though it's an original piece, it just has that kind of feel for me).
