It really teaches you of humanity. She's national treasure we should all cherish.

I love how she doesn't feel a need to have people call in with their questions. She has it all covered and there's no need to deviate from the interview as it plays out, the entire focus is on the subject matter and nothing else.

I actually came for Terry Gross. I've never been a Fallon fan but Terry is just such an amazing human that I came for her. (I know that is not what you meant).
As for many, Terry Gross has been a big part of my radio listening experience. Here she is very like how she is on her show. 1. Her calm and competence radiate even to Jimmy Fallon. 2. She is beautiful. The real thing, where what we see matches what we sense from her mind and heart. 3. That last line -- I doubt O'Reilly even knows how efficiently she cut him up! 4. She's a tiny woman but a towering figure!
I love her laugh. She has a great sense of humor, and I try to catch every minute of her show. It always sounds as if the guest she's interviewing is sitting directly across from her.
Back when I could do it, I used to take my lunch in my car just so I could listen to her. She's the best interviewer ever, and her process (which is glossed over here but you get some idea) is why. She works so hard for every interview.

Hey I got into "Fresh Air" late I'm 25 but in the midwest they play the replay of the daily chat from about 8:10-840 EST on NPR Michigan Radio, and that's when I drive home. I LOOK FORWARD to my drive home thanks to Terry Gross and her amazing guests

The rest comes from a number of private grants and endowments.

You may not be able to compare the two but I sure can. Diane Rehm wasn't in the same league as Terry Gross. Rehm was overtly biased, often lacked interest in her guests, and often failed to ask good followups.

I love this woman's shows! My dad made me listent to Fresh Air when i was a little girl. I listen to her to this day.

Ms. Gross is the absolute BEST! She is not only iconic but an incredibly competent interviewer and host. She's so well-read and well-informed. She's a treasure of public radio.
