Not to mention the very real possibility of breaking your leg tripping over a log or stump or falling into that hole you found. Your helmet cam wasn’t nearly as bad as some critics maintained. And never lose the commentary. It helped me understand the task at hand and gave me some great insights into you as a person, I.e., your military service. If anyone doesn’t like the commentary - well, that’s what the mute button is for, although I’d hate to be stuck talking with anyone who prefers watching a 40 minute video on brush hogging without commentary. Just keep up the good work. You’re doing fine and you’ve made me fan.

When you have the camera inside, it gives us a very narrow view. By having it outside, we get a better scope of the enormity of the job, and we get to see how you work your machine, and see the reasoning behind your moves.
If you want to stop the bouncing around the head causes then I suggest putting a wheel assembly on both sides, in the front of the attachment. Another RUclips'er did it and it increased his productivity three fold.

Walking the property is a good idea but in some instances like this it doesn't do much good. The property is so overgrown that you cant even walk into some of the area and if you could the ground is so covered you cant see what's beneath your feet. You just have to do the job and hope for the best.
IDigIt4 NO! You don’t take a 100,000 dollar machine and hope for the best. You put boots on and jeans on and get a stick and go poke the ground, whack bushes, whack high spots until you are sure it’s clear. Then you will still hit stuff!! I done that and never wrecked a unit!
Having a closed cab is great, especially since there must be lots of wasps and hornets, in the ground and that old shed! I've been stung a few times, using a brush hog and open tractor. And what a freakin' jungle you had to deal with!

That's a brush cutter. A stump isn't going to harm it. We use them for shoulder mowing and we mow limbs and small trees with ours. The company actually says it's good for them.
Just had a guy do 2 acres using a rotary drum mulcher. Thing was a beast. He found a steel rim, or I should say the remains of one after he hit it. Didn't hurt the mulcher at all.
Interesting watching your video & listening to your talk. I'm setting myself up and I'm looking to match a 48" Diamond Disc Mulcher with a 7-10" brush cutter. Cheaper than a drum and also able to fell trees for the wood as I have cedar rail fencing to make on a 140 acre property. I'll check out some more of your videos, thank you.

Up state brush control would have made this nice and clean. Very disappointed in this video! He spend a good min at the beginning like there’s gonna be a Major after vs the before. I definitely wouldn’t have hired this guy for my jobs.
My friend invested 100,000 thousand in one like that ,it was broke down constantly ,a rock ,wire, post,6inch sapling,he finally got rid of it.got behind on his payments,iv Ben in the buzz all my life the best mouse trap is still a good Dozer and operator😁
Mount a GoPro on the tractor. inside the cab if you want to narrate. The head turning movement is a little dizzying. And how about a forestry mulcher attachment then you can mow right through those stumps and even the logs.

Dang!!! For a small lot, it was sure full of nasty pitfalls that could have damaged your equipment! Bad thing was you couldn't have walked it for safety if you had wanted to. I'd have charged extra just for the wear and tear on my XCT7. Yea, maybe not such a good idea to wear your camera on your head. I think I started getting motion sickness somewhere along the filming. LOL Good job for such a bad arse yard.
Ya had any problems with your brush cutter eating up wire ? The bolts stick out under pump and the threads grab wire before ya know it and cannot get out why they assemble them with the bolt threads on the bottom I don’t get it ! I had to use a torch to get the last batch of wore out
No I've been very lucky about not running into wire. The new flywheel I got for this cutter has wire protection studs on the top of the flywheel that keeps wire from getting wrapped around the shaft. Thanks for watching Chris!
I think doing a site walk would have been very beneficial. Could have marked the stumps etc. And, I agree with the others, use a mounted cam as opposed to the head cam. I can’t believe you thought it was Okay to publish the video. Although, as thick as this brush was, it would be pretty hard to walk the area.

Yeah this was my second experience with the headcam. I've only used it one other time since and now I mainly mount the GoPro on the arm of the loader or my tri-pod.

One thing is this was a vid I was unable to watch, the head cam and the constant changing of focus makes it impossible to watch for those of us that suffer from motion sickness. I had to quit 2 minutes in or I would have been blowing chunks. Not a complaint or anything, just wanted to let you know of possible consequences for some of your viewers.
Yeah this was one of my earlier vids and I was experimenting with the head cam. It didn't go well, that's why I haven't used it much since but I appreciate the feedback!
I would say a reinforced concrete pipe that was half buried in the ground and hidden by vines and overgrowth. But I got out right after I hit it and inspected the blades and they were fine. It just sounded bad.
I liked your video, but you really need to get a suction cup mount, or a magnetic mount for your camera so it’s not moving around so much. Good job of mowing.

When they arrived I noticed that they read “Intelligent Officer”. Apparently his Proof Reading Skills were somewhat lacking. Had to have the 5,000 Cards reprinted.

Initially going into this job I would bet you bid on it based on it's outward appearance, (since you couldn't possibly have foreseen the blasted tree trunks/stumps, and brush pile you were going to run into). According to the specs I pulled off of Cat's website the 259D weighs roughly 8900 lbs and has a tipping load of 5800 lbs. I think you would be fine with the 72", though it may rock a bit if you have it up in the air bit over rocky terrain. But I don't think you'll be tipping over. I couldn't find the weight of the 72" but if you call MTL I'm sure they have it and with that you could call a local Cat dealer and ask them what they think is recommended. Make sure you have a forestry door on your loader to protect you when cutting! If you don't, you can get a great 1/2" Lexan door from skidsteersolutions.com for way cheaper than most dealerships. That's what I have and its great. Thanks!

agreed, you can take down a 6 inch tree with it, I've taken some full grown trees down, cleared acres of wooded lots with useless trees growing.

The head mounted cam makes the viewers dizzy! Perhaps a fixed mount or tripod mount outside the Skidsteer? Nice vid though, keep them coming!

Typically for mowing/brush cutting I charge by the hour and that amount depends on the size and density of what I am cutting.
