Congratulations on your Bronze Golden Demon brother! Well deserved in a hard fought competition. Amazing to see your climb in Hobby and RUclips primacy!
Yeah me too lol. A big chip/scratch or a piece of the model snapping and it can be a serious problem when you are trying to make something look perfect. If the banner pole had broken they are near impossible to get back looking flawless.
Hi there! I wanted to drop you a message to express my appreciation. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in my journey into miniature painting. I ventured into wargaming just before turning 43 and, after consulting with friends, I decided on a couple of games and ordered the miniatures. Knowing I wanted to paint them myself, I started watching tutorial videos and stumbled upon yours among others. The knowledge I've gained from your content has been invaluable. Although I still face some challenges, I'm growing more confident with each piece I paint, all thanks to your guidance. Interestingly, I've discovered that I enjoy painting just as much, if not more, than playing the games themselves. So, thank you for generously sharing your expertise, and keep being awesome!
Came back here to say congrats, man. If the stars align, would love to attend Adepticon next year so I can see you win Gold ;D Thanks for all the awesome videos!
Congrats and hats off to you Sir!!! Broke or not, a well deserved price! It’s an amazing piece of art and an achievement! I truly feel happy for you as I know you’ve worked hard for this goal for several years now!!! 🙌
Would you be willing once the model has been entered and the competition is over to consider making a video focused on that feedback that was provided? Having the scope of the painters you look up to at my own little level would be incredible.
Congrats on the award! Take a well earned breather! On a casual note...what is that song during the Rock Philosophy Class and Tree painting?? That techy 8-bit sound SLAPS
So excited to see this piece in person man, win or lose you're killing it. Attending Adepticon for my first time (hell, leaving Canada for the first time...) and just amped to check out your work and that of all the other amazing artists attending. 5 days lets gooooooooooooo!
Looking fantastic Jon:) Video idea - it would be really helpful to talk about the feedback you received from various painters and how you tried to implement that. There aren't many videos on pushing competition pieces as far as you can/breaking painting plateaus, or what to do when you can't identify what to improve next. If not a full vid, maybe something worth talking about in a retrospective after GD or something?
The entry looks incredible. I we were standing next to you all at the beginning of the GW preview at Adepticon. I was in the shadow of greatness with all of you there. Great work.
Good luck Jon!! You mentioned that you reached out to painters you look up to for advice and feedback. I may not be able to ask for your feedback but you are one of MY inspirations! Keep up the fantastic work man!
To say this is “just” your best piece is an understatement. It is one of the best fantasy miniatures I’ve seen and certainly the best Cities of Sigmar piece I’ve ever seen. The cohesion is this piece contrasted with your entry from last year is where I see the most growth in your style, but your growth as a painter is astronomical. Great work Jon.
Thank you for bringing us along on this journey. Truly inspiring. 🤓 The project turned out amazing, way better compared to the last entry. Wish you all the luck!
Congratulations on winning a GD with this piece. Excellent work and glad you were able to keep grinding past the bumps from last year's GD. Great stuff
I signed up for a painting competition in my area and I have one model left for my unit entry that is taking forever and the advice of "make it interesting through techniques and new paints" I will definitely be taking forward as I speed through final month!
Awesome work man, I hope you enjoy Adepticon!! Also, the evolution of Daryl as a character is great -- still giving you shit, but supportive of your endeavors. Daryl deserves his own painting episode.
I love what you've been able to capture here, such a natural-looking scene. I know that other than all the technical aspects, the 'story' of one's work is very important in this competition. And you, my friend, have nailed it. Congrats! Waiting for the final video. And I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you when the time comes!
damn dude looking good! You learnt about the tuffs from the last one you did. All the cloth flowing with the wind in the same direction, just don't forget the tuffts bigger grass will bend with the wind and that banner needs some serious wind to be flapping in the breeze. The horses eye looks so good It keeps drawing me in.
Congrats dude, I know this was a hard fought battle. I know the win after the long battle can feel uninspiring. I hope the relaxation and recovery allow you to really appreciate it in time ;).
One thing I like about Golden Demon season is it’s the one time of year all the painters I admire seem to acknowledge that painting is hard. Normally Ninjon puts out videos that are like “here’s a quick fun way to up your painting, look what I did in 2 hours!” and it’s way better than stuff I put 15-20 hours into. I’m not saying I enjoy the schadenfreude…but I’m not not saying that either!
Absolutely incredible work Jon! I'm sure someone could find room for critique, but it's not me. I was literally just nodding my head and going "nice" as you added the models to the base, it came together so well!!
Man this is incredible, to see how far you've come since the opening of your channel until today. And these minis to show off those skills on. I'm truly thankful I sat down and enjoyed this episode!
Love the video and the peice is epic ❤ Wishing you all the best from down under in Aus mate 🙏👍 If I’m allowed to throw my 2cents in the ring, I think the stones on the bases highlights are too high and could be toned down a touch, also use another colour glazed through them like a brown in spots might helps set them more in the background than competing against all your nice nmm work
Dude.. I got into painting miniatures because of your channel. My inspiration for artistic input in my personal life/ job has become It’s own engine because of your imaginative content and im incredibly grateful..It’s meaningful to the individual.. it’s all love from ninjon and that’s why you’re total badass inspiration mate. You’re taking your craft seriously and your style when it comes artistic to approach is exceptional. G.D or not, keep producing content because.. mate, you’re better then bloody good!! Much love from UK Southwest and best of luck with this one! J.R
Man, I just went to check the Golden Demon results with you in mind. I was scrolling down looking for the AoS unit and it was really nice to see you got a Bronze! (althought I was expecting even better with the incredibly beautiful piece you managed to paint!) Congratulations :)
14:05 this I felt in my heart. my brain saw all that in super slowmotion giving me high levels of anxiety seeing many chipped of paints breaking of parts! ps. I hope you win because this looks increddible!
Good luck Jon. No one can say you didn't put the effort in and this entry is so much better than teh last. I really do hope you come bac with some metal sir.👏👏👏👏
I love seeing this kind of painted piece.. what an absolutely beautiful base you have there.. that base alone is prettier then any complete mini I ever painted.. and I have won my local paint comps so its not like I'm shit either. Lol looking forward to seeing more. Best of luck!
Daryl, your videos are always great, with excellent tips and techniques…and a bit of subtle humor in the delivery. Thanks for your time and effort, they are much appreciated!
Fantastic piece, I really hope you do well this year. Also congrats on the Game Envy collab! I absolutely love their wet palette and nice to see you get your own special edition. I love that yours comes with a texture palette. The texture palette is such a phenomenal bonus that no other company has done. Also did not expect so many additional perks and add ons. That creature castor bundle is tempting and Ill have to see just how much I want to support the kickstarter with
Jon this is gorgeous. I've been really enjoying watching this come together. And it's a cool celebration of what I consider to be some of GW's best sculpts in a while! I'm -obsessed- with the CoS characters, and you've brought them to life. Can't wait to see ya later this week!
Can't wait to see all of your hard work in person next week! This series has been really interesting, and I'm looking forward to your follow up after Adepticon!
Thanks for the amazing content Jon. I just started getting into painting (Anything really) and I stumbled across your page, and of the 6-8 pages I've checked out so far, yours stood out. I like your style, keeping it light and fun without going over the top about it where it almost becomes about the bits, and not the painting. I LOVE your "paint roulette" series. Please keep going with that! Color theory is something I don't know a lot about and I find super interesting to see someone forced to work with certain colors and make them work. A lot of newbs will run into this as their pallettes just don't have that many colors. I would love to see a video where you go and buy some real cheap acrylics at something like the Dollar Tree, and see if any of them are worth it and paint a whole mini with just these. I had some laying around from when I made a poor attempt at watching Bob Ross and playing along, and I said "hey what the hell... lemme try them" and a few were shockingly really good. For instance, the dark red/brown was amazing for darkening up colors, and now I have about 20x more than a Citadel bottle for $1.25. I won't use many straight out of the bottle (Although the Cyan was really good and I didn't have any bright AF blues, so I will use that one) but as mixers, especially simple colors like pure white, pure black, and browns? Great way to save some money.

Congrats on your bronze my guy !
Awesome watching your work and seeing it pay off. Congrats man.
I literally flinched when the Cavalier-Marshal tumbled off the base near the end.
Dude, spoiler warning! 😂 J/k
Same, I let out an “oooOOH!” And all of my morning coffee is now on the floor. I care more about the model than the spilled coffee 😂
Same. I reached out a hand like I could stop it.
Spoiler my man! This is the first comment everyone sees!
My heart skipped a beat too 😅
CONGRATS ON THE AWARD JON!!!!!
Glad to see all the hard work you put into this paid off. Was awesome to get to follow along.
You got a bronze daemon, that's great news! Congratulations! 😀
Congratulations on the Bronze win at Golden Demon this weekend! It was great to see your hard work recognized!

Congrats on winning bronze! Your work is truly phenominal.
Congratulations on your Bronze Golden Demon brother! Well deserved in a hard fought competition.
Amazing to see your climb in Hobby and RUclips primacy!
I literally gasped when the dude on the horse fell off the back of the piece. Nice work, dude…. Good luck at GD
Yeah me too lol. A big chip/scratch or a piece of the model snapping and it can be a serious problem when you are trying to make something look perfect. If the banner pole had broken they are near impossible to get back looking flawless.
Haha, yeah, same here xD
When you said "Mhm" in the intro, I felt that.
Congratulations on your Bronze finish at Adepticon - a very much deserved recognition of your hard work and talent!
I can sleep well tonight knowing Daryl is on zombie watch.
Congrats on the Trophy Jon..... Well done... Great piece
Daryl doing a wellness check is just more wholesome than I was expecting from his appearance.
@6:23 when the 80's power ballad starts in the montage... *Chef's kiss
I expected to see video of Rocky Balboa training.

Just saw the results on the official website, GG Jon !
Congrats dude 🎉 I'd be well happy with the result 😁 its a great scene
It looks so awesome, definitely need to do some CoS at some point. The horse falling off the plinth was a nightmare. Wishing you the best mate!

I hope so too. He mentions at the end that he will make another video about it, so theres definitely a chance.
Congratulations Jon! Amazing work man. Played for and got.
No matter if you win anything or not, this is by far your best work and I hope you are super proud of it! Amazing piece!
Congrats on the bronze placement dude🎉
Chatted with you at LVO last year. Great work, bud.
Congratulations on the Demon! Well deserved 🎉
The entry looks incredible. I we were standing next to you all at the beginning of the GW preview at Adepticon. I was in the shadow of greatness with all of you there. Great work.
Man this absolutely gorgeous work, inspiring. I really wish you triumph with this peace in your chase for a Daemon trophy :)
Good luck Jon!! You mentioned that you reached out to painters you look up to for advice and feedback. I may not be able to ask for your feedback but you are one of MY inspirations! Keep up the fantastic work man!

I know the focus isn't the base, but dude, the earth tones and the rocks are actually amazing! By the end of that montage it was looking fantastic!!
Congrats on the Bronze
Thank you for bringing us along on this journey. Truly inspiring. 🤓
The project turned out amazing, way better compared to the last entry. Wish you all the luck!
Thanks so much! I can feel the improvement over last year, so that’s a win in and of itself!
Incredible work, that is a beautiful piece. Congratulations!
Absolutely phenominal work - you should be incredibly proud of what you've achieved with this project! Best of luck to you in the competiton.
Congrats on the Demon!
Congratulations on winning a GD with this piece. Excellent work and glad you were able to keep grinding past the bumps from last year's GD. Great stuff

I actually screamed when the marshal fell off! LOL. Absolutely smashed it Brah! Fingers crossed for you!

Awesome work man, I hope you enjoy Adepticon!! Also, the evolution of Daryl as a character is great -- still giving you shit, but supportive of your endeavors.

Great job so far. Looking forward to seeing the finished model, and meeting you at the Army Painter booth, at Adepticon next week!

Been following you for years and I know you have been dedicated to GD and what a great recognition!
Good luck with the Golden Demon entry, excited to see how it performs. It looks great from here!
The piece is looking so dang good! I've got my order in for the Ninjon wet and dry brush palettes and am eagerly anticipating them!
Dude! This piece is leaps and bounds better than the last one (which was also amazing). Good luck, and I hope you win!

I was stoked when I saw there was a version of the wetpallet with your brand on it when I backed it the other day, so I ofcause had to get that one :)
good luck Jon, rooting for you bud, absolutley gorgeous
Intros are always so funny !! XD Great vid and an awesome paintjob!
Great video, Ninjon! Your approach to painting rocks was awesome.
YOU DID IT! HORAAAY! Congrats you Dew addict!
Amazing work and best of luck with golden demon John, The goody pp's are rootin for you !
You could finish here and be proud of your work. This looks truly awesome! Good luck for the final grind :)
