First time I've heard Rob express himself and I can see a wisdom beyond his years. No wonder Stan Lee hyped this guy up. I love how his motivation is for the kids.
Nice to see Matt Damon branching out. Is there no end to his talent? I don't think John Byrne is a fan of this guy's work, according to an interview in the recent Modern Masters series of books.
I'm glad Stan "The Man" Lee was very open-minded with how Mr. Liefeld draws. Yeah I don't like how lazy he draws his characters but he definitely made a name for himself.
Die Hard is a character Rob would later use in his IMAGE series YoungBloods. I wonder if this is where he was first drawn up. Kinda surreal to see an actual published character being created for the first time.
I can definitely see this being true when this interview was filmed. (I'm guessing mid to late 90's?) Now there's many more avenues for artists to make money and a lot of the current work is nowhere near as it was back then. Some practically look like doodles
@ZaqueHunzahua i don't entirely agree with you on this one..I'm not sure about the 80's though but Jim Lee defined the visuals of the 90's that's for sure.. X-men:1 is proof of that..but thank you for responding..I respect your opinion.
Cool, actual drawing. What's the grade of the graphite Rob uses? 3H? Also what model of technical pen and brand does Ron use? Is it the Staedler ISO or the non-ISO? God bless, Rev. 21:4
"That`s what I like about your drawings, they all make a statement in some way" That statement is "I am just the worst artist, how the fuck am I paid to do this?!"
Dear Hater, How many copies of a single issue have you sold? Respectfully, Another Keyboard Jockey watching a YT video on someone who is supposedly terrible. =)
Ken Galeano exactly. You don’t have to be an artist to criticize. However, the people criticizing are being losers and assholes just to be losers and assholes with no better way to spend their time
I mean say what you want, even if his drawings may not be anatomically correct, they look cool. Just look at Picasso. If we go anatomy wise then he'd be termed the worst artist ever. Many would be too. Art isnt specific.
@adityawankhede7260 Picasso understood drawing fundamentals and used that understanding to develop cubism. Rob Liefeld simply doesn't have a grasp of the fundamentals and his work is riddled with mistakes.

"I got his anatomy pretty much down." Lol
HAHAHA!!
Just waited patiently for him to get to the feet. Was not disappointed.
“Hey rob lets show the kids how to draw the feet”
Rob lieflied is great

Nobody can draw while driving like Rob Liefield.
I'm glad Stan "The Man" Lee was very open-minded with how Mr. Liefeld draws. Yeah I don't like how lazy he draws his characters but he definitely made a name for himself.
Just realised Diehard is a character in his comic youngblood Haha
Swamprat always remember you can never have to many pouches.
90's comic book nerd Rob is terrible.
I love his little feet.
You got Sylvester Stallone with a size 2 in kids
Die Hard is a character Rob would later use in his IMAGE series YoungBloods.

Sometimes he drops the ball but he's pretty good
Absolutely, for the most part I love his art, he just has a tendency to be really sloppy sometimes.
I love these men here
Say what you want about liefeld but he's one of those guys like stan lee who inspired me to make comics.
I cant even fathom the honor of having Stan "The man" lee share his thoughts on ones artwork.
I always liked rob's story's that he wrote and drawed at image
You can say whatever about him but he is literaly a genius. Both of them.
I feel like he draws small feet just for comedy lol
5 million copies! Wow...
Love this. God is Good :)

I'm bringing back the 90's extreme comic book style
Es del 1991
09:03 LOL
7:46 gotta have a face- proceeds to not draw a face…
9:28 Stan Lee pretending to be impressed with Robs out put. Kirby did 4 times as many pages regularly.
Another geek crybaby.
what year is this video from?
1991
Edward Connors 2018
I image Stan lee was thinking he’s a grate artist then when he saw his drawing he was like
… oh
die hard looks a lot like deadpool
after watching Jim Lee, Mcfarlane and Portacio, I feel quite underwhelmed watching Liefeld. just saying.
Sweet jesus well this guy has the second highest selling comic in history
does having the 2nd highest comicbook sales in history gives him a hall pass for all of this??
@ZaqueHunzahua i don't entirely agree with you on this one..I'm not sure about the 80's though but Jim Lee defined the visuals of the 90's that's for sure.. X-men:1 is proof of that..but thank you for responding..I respect your opinion.
Mark walberg draws?
Rob can't draw hands and feet because they lack muscle.
Wtf
Diehard looks a lot like Bane…
6:10
This video needs more chest hair.
Cool, actual drawing.

The “Greats”?

No
I don’t like thèse new générations drawing at all. Far from J. Buscema talent
I really cant understand why this guy had so much sucess in the industry. So weird.
But he's a great artist
I mean say what you want, even if his drawings may not be anatomically correct, they look cool. Just look at Picasso. If we go anatomy wise then he'd be termed the worst artist ever. Many would be too. Art isnt specific.

Clever businessman
I got a new character. deadpool...I mean diehard
