JELLY NAILS THAT GLOW IN THE DARK with VICKY from Pretty Little Claws!

I'm here with Vicky from Pretty Little Claws and we're doing Glow in the Dark Glass/Jelly Nails today.
Vicky removed her nails yesterday and I've prepped the nails, I'm going to wipe over with Gel Residue Wipe Off Solution. I'm then going to fit the forms and use Nail Prep/Dehydrator and Acid Based Primer to prep the nails. I'm going to use a bit of Max Adehsion in 5 Different pots, and drop a bit of gel polish in, one pot for each colour. I'm also going to have another dampen dish to clean off my brush in between colours.
I'm going to start with Blue monomer on the thumb, sculpting out a stiletto nail. Once you're happy with the colour you can cap the nail with normal monomer and Clear Acrylic. I'm going to go through the rainbow across all 5 nails, adding mylar to the pointer finger, middle finger and pinky finger. Pinch the nails. Remove the forms and go through the normal filing routine. I'm going to topcoat the underside of the nail and the three nails with the mylar on. I'm then going to use acrygel to apply stones to the ring finger and thumb.
Finish off with a bit of cuticle oil.

As a former nail tech and someone half-way through my fifties, I think nails are the perfect place to break all those 'women over _a certain age_ can't wear ______ anymore" b.s. "rules." Nail polish/art is always temporary and that makes it the perfect place to resist old age, and let your inner teenager shine!

True story. Probably 5 or 6 month's ago I did a mani and did one single nail using glow in the dark powder and forgot aboutt it.
Two or three nights later I'm in bed and my 2 year old and husband is in with me asleep. I wake and roll over and my hand was on my two year old . My vision is really bad without glasses on and that one single nail terrified tf outta me! It took me a good 3 minutes of me laying there in frozen silence SCARED AH & trying to figure out what it was and why it was there.
This is the first time I've ever spoken about the incident but had to share bc It reminded me and I got a good laugh

Use them as stilettos!
Nails like today's example are lethal weapons! If some evil-doer grabs you, you have TEN ice picks to put their eyes out! Seriously, those stiletto nails are dangerous. I wouldn't advise anyone with young children or dogs to wear nails like the ones demonstrated in today's video, pretty as they may be.

What a cool design! I can't get over all the bling!! Bonus as they glow in the dark too. Lordy, aggressive cuticles are such a thing! What a fun set of nails. Although, I do think I'd probably be walloping myself frequently with that big bling nail!
I have *really* sticky cuticles, too! Complicating matters, I also have vertical ridges. I have to really do some cuticle pushing, trimming, scraping and buffing to get rid of it all. I can't tell you how many times I've missed less than a millimeter square of cuticle and had a little lift within three days! So *FRUSTRATING!!!*

She does sometimes it's just very difficult to do your own nails at a decent angle you can use as footage unfortunately
How did you know to do this? Is it not illegal to mix products? Who would have thought about mixing gel polish into monomer? OMG! That just blew my mind!!!!! Love it! Vicky is so cute. I want more please.

Gorgeous! I really enjoyed this technique of coloring the monomer. But it begs the question, what would happen if I used a *tiny, teensiest bit* of acrylic paint instead of gel polish? I'm talking a tiny bit-- the size of the head of a steel sewing pin-- not even as large as the glass headed kind of pin. I can't see why that wouldn't work. I ask because I don't think I have a full rainbow of neon gel polishes, but I have a full set of 48 acrylic paints, including a neon rainbow set. I think I shall have to break out my Naio clear acrylic powder, Max Adhesion liquid and my paints and practice on a few practice nails. I'll report back later, if it works.
Wouldn't the acrylic paint dry though? I think she used gel because it doesn't dry on it's own
