@@necluda001 If you think about it, it doesn't have to be only Siemens Chargers on Amtrak. There are other railroads that use Chargers, like Brightline, VIA Rail, MARC, Coaster, etc. Oh wait, you already noticed this. Well, sorry for giving you a rough time. :)
I like silver/metal on trains. My favorite is the Phase 3. I think Phase 4 is nice as well, especially on the Amfleets. Phase 6 is nice, not bad, and I do not like Phase 7. The swooping lines, the very dark blue, and lack of metal/silver finish let it down for me, I would like more silver. I feel that American trains have become known for their metal color, especially with ribbed metal, which I quite like. I really like the TSWII wrap, it would have been nice if a livery like that was permanent for Amtrak locomotives. It would have been nice it the new Amtrak livery is silver with red, white, and blue stripes, reminiscent of Phase 3 but maybe with more blue for just the locomotives.
As just a engine I like phase 6 but seeing the renders of what a complete phase 7 train will look like it’s a winner. The swoosh looks kinda weird alone but with the whole train it works.
ACS-64 No. 662 is one of my favourite Amtrak engines, even if only for her connection to Train Sim World. It's a shame that her livery wasn't updated to promote TSW3, but now that I think about it, it's odd that an Amtrak locomotive carried this advert when the ACS-64 and Amfleet coaches are the only Amtrak rolling stock in the game.
Phase III with the F40PH is definitely prime Amtrak. I'm taking a Typography class and I found out that the typeface used for the old Amtrak logo was 'Helvetica' which is used *EVERYWHERE* but you probably don't realize it. I always wondered why the word "Amtrak" in that typeface looked almost as iconic as the Chevron/Arrow logo, but after studying it's history I know why now. Smart choice.
Honestly I'm in a one way tie between Phase 6 and Phase 7 as my favorite because I love that shiny look on Phase 7 because I actually like that swoop of white because it Honestly looks streamlined and Phase 6 looks great especially the back side
I am gonna miss phase 5 since its the paint scheme I grew up with. I just hope in like 5 to 10 year's Amtrak makes a heritage unit of it on one of its siemens alc42's
Suggestion for future videos in the same style: it would've been interesting to show the images fullscreen for those less familiar with the liveries. Keep up the great videos !
Thanks for the comparison. Early Amtrak paint colors were dreadful. Washed out blue and orangey-red and the truly mindless, static arrow which suggests slow speed and generic service not to mention the accompanying uniforms. Newer schemes are all an improvement and getting better
I think phase 3 is the best paint scheme particularly on Amtrak genesis locomotive 145 and 822. On an F40, I don't think it looks as good, but the sleek strips fit well with the P42DC's streamlined design.
Great video... I thought the former Pennsy/PC GG1s with the Amtrak name slapped on the side over the previous PC logo would have been the very first (Loco was still all black at first)
Who cares about service, comfort, design, and so on, all world’s bottlenecks should be removed, until we can do everything instantly, so in this case, as fast as possible travel time is the only thing that matters for trains.
Something about the Phase 7 just doesn’t sit right with me. Looks fresh, but i dont know 100%. Maybe when we get Phase 7 coaches and a full Phasr 7 set is put together it will look better but who knows.
I sort of disagree with gen 1 Acelas- they're iconic and actually pretty good looking when they were new, but MAN have they started looking dated, particularly in the last 5 years. Idk what it is that I didn't notice before the new Avelia powercar's design was shown, but when side by side with the gen 1 Acelas, the gen 1's look WAY older, and now that they've aged a little bit there's something that's so 2000's about them that isn't retro yet, and they just look tacky instead. Give it another 20 years and we'll be cheering when they pull out of the station on some limited-run heritage line tho

@@TrainDude8901 lol
I have to disagree with the phase 6 and 7, I personally think 7 looks better with the dark blue and the swoosh. But 6 still looks nice.
I really like the fact that I got to see a personal take from you not just the news of the month love the video can't wait for the next one
FIRST the Acela's first gen for me is at least A tier broooooo

The only paint schemes that were reused on another P42DC were phase III and I (160 and 161).

The lesson from this is that everybody loves phase III

I like the ACS-64s best.👍
Cool video idea
Very epic, I love Day 1
I think that the Phase IV on the F40PH is my favorite with the Phase 3 being a close 2nd. The phase 5 is my least favorite.
Phase I looks better in the CTrail design than Amtrak's own.
Wow this amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
the day 1, Phase VII and the train sim world ad units were the best ones in my opinion
What would you rate the Acela Regional paint scheme for the HHP-8 and the Acela Regional amfleets?
Phase one, Pepsi can, phase 3, and day one are my favorites Im a sucker for retro style things
I think phase 3 is the best paint scheme particularly on Amtrak genesis locomotive 145 and 822. On an F40, I don't think it looks as good, but the sleek strips fit well with the P42DC's streamlined design.
Phase 2 lasted 23 years.. Will never be forgotten by me
The Amtrak font on Phase 1 - 4 is called Hevilica new
Why not the state supported routes? I literally clicked on this video cuz I thought you were going to rate the capital corridor and surfliner paint
4:51 They painted 8 Big arms into phase 6. (If you play L4D2, you'll get that reference)
We gotta hear your opinion on the Cascades and Surfliner paint schemes
Request: Amtrak horn tier list
You are tripping, operation lifesaver loco is amazing.
Request: BNSF Paint scheme - TIER LIST
Great video... I thought the former Pennsy/PC GG1s with the Amtrak name slapped on the side over the previous PC logo would have been the very first (Loco was still all black at first)
Didn’t the red come out orange when they did stripe it? But yeah those first ones!
@@kitchin2 you're right! I grew up near hellgate Bridge in queens ny and remember the gg1s in black, blue, and the orange that should have been red.
The illinois/missouri trains carry the main schemes
Do this for metra please
Ngl it sounds kinda weird hearing Sam talk without reading from a script, he does in all of of his videos so I’ve gotten really used to it
Who cares about service, comfort, design, and so on, all world’s bottlenecks should be removed, until we can do everything instantly, so in this case, as fast as possible travel time is the only thing that matters for trains.
Yo the Amtrak acs64 is the original salute our veterans unit
Request: Norfolk southern heritage units
I loved this video can you do it with NS heritage units! Ps and the special units like 4000 plus please put 8520
Ohhhhhhhhh now I get it
Ain't no way the Genesis phase 3 was put in D😭😭
I think Operation Lifesaver P42DC #203 looks cool.
Yes phase 3 made it to s their , I love phase 3 on p42 dc , and superliner phase three yes.i love phase 3.
I would’ve put phase 3 Pepsi can and phase 7 in s tier
So now u add an a too phase 4!?
oh that's funny i saw amtrak 100 at the same location
Something about the Phase 7 just doesn’t sit right with me. Looks fresh, but i dont know 100%. Maybe when we get Phase 7 coaches and a full Phasr 7 set is put together it will look better but who knows.
:Request state Supported paint schemes
Helvetica was the Phase I font
2:53 so who’s gonna tell him?
I had to say you forgot the toasters
Why no state supported routes?!!!! Operation lifesaver Surfliner, Seahawk and king tut F59 casdades should all be in this video, plz make part 2

WHY DOES 406 HAVE NO DITCHLIGHTS
Is 662 gone?
I know u did not just put amtk 203 at “D” it is a good locomotive and amtk 662 sucks
I SWEAR TO GOD!! I KNOW THIS KID DID NOT JUST PUT 203 IN D TIER, NAHHH 203 SHOULD FO IN A TIER
Day one should be called phase zero
Let’s go 1,000th veiwer
69th comment, ngl F40PH was based and redpilled even if i never see it irl
rip 184
How about showing full Photos of each engine otherwise the show was fair.
Your outro music is too loud
Amtrak phase 5 is incredibly overrated
What a wierd list
Booo Phase V 5ever!
I prefer phase 6 over 7 I think 7 is too excessive, while 6 keeps it simple but also pays homage to the pointless arrow
You forgot...Helvetica?
