Had a SG2 for many years. Bought the SG3 when it first came out. Both are great but the 3 is by far a great improvement. Yes it is expensive but well worth the money.

I bought a ScanGauge 2 back when they were first released and they were great to monitor a couple of things, plus being able to do simple diagnosing and resetting of simple faults. My son now has it in his car, and I recently purchased the ScanGauge 3 and put it in my mustang. Yes it's expensive, yes it's large, but wow it's a powerful diagnostic instrument thats a great addition to my car. It sits and monitors 9 standard and x-gauge items (even though the mustang is not listed as having x-gauge items, it sure does), plus 2 more 9 item pages of less important things that I can flick to if I want.
I almost want a second one for the Calais, but might have to wait for a sale or something to get one.

Thinking about just going for the scan gage 2 for smaller design. On the two can you set an alarm to alert you of high trans temp?

Unfortunately not. Only the ScanGauge3 has the alarms available.

@AZscanners Thanks for the video. On ScanGauge3 can you choose to have fewer tiles per screen than 9. I would like oil pressure, water temp and trans. temp only on 1'st screen. thank you

Yes you can only choose 4 or 6 if 9 is too many.
In regards to the gauges avaialble that depends on the vehicle. What is your vehicle - make, model & year make?
