I love how Courtney says 'you're stupid' after Matthew messed up his line and I love the idea that he messed up the line and was waiting for someone to say 'cut!' or something and instead everyone just made fun of him and it was left in the final cut
Jennifer Aniston didn't improvise "This isn't a marriage, this is the world's worst hangover!", that line was written last-minute on set by Matthew Perry.

I mean, sometimes you gotta let the actors choose how the scene should play out rather than the script. It's not always fun having someone or something tell you what to do.
It also shows how great the relationship between cast and producers was. The producers weren’t too prideful as to have the actors stick to the script and not improvise. Plus admitting that the actors improv or ideas were better and funnier then their own. Just one reason why Friends is the best.
“i’m sorry, we don’t have your sheep” should have been on this list, one of chandlers best lines, and I think it was either written by him or scripted.
I never knew it was a messed up line - I thought it was Chandler just being Chandler but knowing it was an error and everyone else just played into it - in character made it even more hilarious.
I am so happy that many people have finally started appreciating David Shwimmer's amazing acting on the show.. it was never properly acknowledged... He really deserves lots more praise and recognition for his acting skills ❤️
Actually he was recognized by the producers, and they offered him more money, but he turned it down and said he’d only take a raise if they all got raises, which is how their successful collective bargaining began. They kept their pact to all get the same salary throughout the series and it landed them all $1m per episode by the end of the series.

Chandler's Q-tip quip was actually on Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, which came out several years before Friends even aired. Yes, Matthew Perry stole a joke from an animated Disney kids' show.
Chandler (Matthew Perry) made the most memorable jokes for the show. On some BTS of friends in the 90’s and early 2000’s you can see the writers or creators asking Matthew for ideas of jokes to include in some of the scenes. He’s a genius.
The top pick should have been Phoebe singing along with Ross' bagpipe playing. You can see Jennifer Aniston trying to hide her laughter behind her hand.
"given how long the show went on, it can be easy to forget that Ross begins the series going through a divorce" Uhm, he is going through a divorce for pretty much half the series. It's kind of his thing.
The last laugh one where chandler says “Where?” To get coffee, it’s cuz the set of Central Perk was taken down on that same day so he’s genuinely asking them where they’ll get coffee
Jennifer Aniston originally auditioned to be Monica and Courtney Cox auditioned to be Rachel.... I'm glad they ended up the other way around. Matthew Perry is by far my fav
This list is dedicated to Joey tribianni who got fired for coming up with his own lines. The script say if he didn't make it, he's not gonna survive. Instead I say if he didn't make it, he's not gonna live
He wasn‘t fired for making up lines, he was fired, because he told the interviewer of a magazine, that he writes the show himself, just because he changed a line and the writers were pissed 😂
What if this is unscripted. When actor Matt LeBlanc forgot what name to shout for Paul rudd at c perk, he just shout "MIKE" and Paul rudd just went along with it. What it's Scott. Now that would be iconic
For the last line when chandler says ‘where’ after being asked to go get coffee was and actual question as the central perk set had already been taken down.
If I just told you I had some laughter and watery eyes at the very end of this count down.. Would it be bad...? These are joyful moments of my sitting-in-front-of-the-TV part-of-life that I would not change for anything! The mind of Ms. Kauffmann and Mr. Crane, the whole team behind cameras, and these six definitely friends of mine.. Oh god! Just ¡wow! words! Every line, every silence, every time they tripped, jumped, fell down, or got stucked hanging down from the Christmas lights.. every single element makes it whole.. and it is priceless! Thanks you guys for truly being there for us.. and not as Monica advising Joey! 😁 See you at the Perk...
the file cabinet has never failed to make me fall out laughing. Even better to find out it wasn't scripted. The look on Matthew Perry's face then is even more funny to me now.
In one of the early seasons, when some friends throw water on joey, a part of it was unscripted. Rachel and monica throw water as it was scripted but chandler throwing water was totally improvised

The prank episode was actually directed by David Schwimmer and the prank on Rachel was a prank Schwimmer had included in the script to prank Jennifer Anniston.
What ?
@@lexkanyima2195 the ep in which Rachel teaches Ben a few practical jokes was directed by David Schwimmer so the idea of pranking Jennifer with the dummy was his
@@lexkanyima2195 Schwimmer intended to prank Aniston but the reaction was so good he kept it in the episode as he was the director
I do wonder what Jennifer expected to happen, like what script did she have?
@@adnanhussain9057 thank god
This shows how incredibly talented and in tune the cast were with their characters
You could see Jennifer’s anger on their face when she realized, it wasn’t David who fell down the stairs. Lmao 😂
Chandler came up with World's Worst Hangover, not Rachel.
Did he put it in his joke journal?
@@martialartsislife2066 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Omg i didn't know that
@@jamiebrown6895 there’s a clip of it somewhere
@@marvinthemonster7524 I'll have to find it. Thank you ☺❤
Why does she feel the need to explain what is happening on screen? Just play the clip!!!!!
Well that’s ms mojo for you
@@ewuradennis5011 It sure is!
I actually found it helpful because the show and act itself is just so funny you never can tell.
i think the way the video was presented was perfectly fine
I normally hate when they do this, but I feel it helps here. Some of us might not fully understand which lines are the ones improvised. I certainly wasn't expecting some of them
Chandler's Q-tip quip was actually on Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, which came out several years before Friends even aired. Yes, Matthew Perry stole a joke from an animated Disney kids' show.
6:50 "couldyu scooch?" still the funniest person in the room 🤣❤️
8:20 when you are so in character you don't need lines
The "that's ok" from Ross to Chandler in "The one where Chandler can't remember which sister" was improvised too
Chandler (Matthew Perry) made the most memorable jokes for the show. On some BTS of friends in the 90’s and early 2000’s you can see the writers or creators asking Matthew for ideas of jokes to include in some of the scenes. He’s a genius.
"Hello Mrs. Ross"
"Hello Mr. Rachel"
Lmaooo
mattew perry was the real star of friends
He really was. He’s my favorite character along with Phoebe
@@ewuradennis5011 yup
Yup
@@ewuradennis5011 chandler was the best
He truly was
If only she could stop talking and just play the friggin scene
8:58 Kudos to the cast for great add libbing after Mathew’s goof! Well done!
The Rachel screaming prank was the best! Lol
The cabinet smack plus Matts reaction had me on the floor laughing.
Best actor/character on the show.
Ps rip Robin Williams.
may i ask, what does robin williams have to do with this? i hope this doesn’t sound rude i’m just kinda confused
@@mynameishappy3591
He's in this video.
@@mynameishappy3591 he's in the next scene.that is played the guy who was getting cheated on by his with his friend that was sitting next to him
Facts. And Robin will ALWAYS have a spot in my heart ❤ 🥺
I wish the bit where David Schwimmer hands Matthew Perry the lamp when Emily calls was on the list.
World's worst hangover was from the writers... it was written on the fly during this scene. Watch the behind the scenes
Thanks for the update I appreciate it ❤☺
It was Matthew Perry
@@laisaviana6761 he said both
The top pick should have been Phoebe singing along with Ross' bagpipe playing. You can see Jennifer Aniston trying to hide her laughter behind her hand.
"given how long the show went on, it can be easy to forget that Ross begins the series going through a divorce"
Uhm, he is going through a divorce for pretty much half the series. It's kind of his thing.
Ross, The Divorcer
Ross the Divorce Force
True
Ikr
@@marlene670 it dont matter the faceless guy still passed for making up lines
😂🤣🤣
I was today years old when I fully understood the “Chandler” joke with the pages lol
The “where?” line in the finale was also because the central perk set had already been taken apart on the show so the set wasn’t even there too.
But it is a unexpected moment
@@lexkanyima2195 never said it wasn’t. Just pointed out another fact about it.
Literally just added a similar comment lol
That's interesting to know. Thank you 😊
I love the cabinet smack and it's the best movement....and the biggest fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S
What if this is unscripted. When actor Matt LeBlanc forgot what name to shout for Paul rudd at c perk, he just shout "MIKE" and Paul rudd just went along with it. What it's Scott. Now that would be iconic
12:15 Matt le Blanc reaction is priceless: First he thinks ok we have to redo this scene .. then falls back very fast in his roll
Actually, in the World worst hangover scene, she didn't improvise, they just added the line on the set because the original joke wasn't as funny.
I’ve always wondered what was up when Monica said “you messed it up...you’re stupid!” I always thought that even was just a little weird and off 😂
I agree! It was off, so I had wondered why they wrote that whole blue blazer black in, or what the purpose was. Now it makes sense!
Agreed
Same!
It all makes sense now 🤣🤣
Matthew Perry is just one big chandler bing at this point.
I love Matthew! He is sooo unique! The show wouldn’t be the same without him
Wow. they were so good. And I really love that scene when Ross and Ben fooled Rachel by throwing a mannequin downstairs. Ben was superb in acting.
Before even clicking, i already knew that Mathew Perry would sweep the whole list comprehensively.
the file cabinet has never failed to make me fall out laughing. Even better to find out it wasn't scripted. The look on Matthew Perry's face then is even more funny to me now.
In one of the early seasons, when some friends throw water on joey, a part of it was unscripted. Rachel and monica throw water as it was scripted but chandler throwing water was totally improvised
Omg! Their ability to keep going for so long in character, particularly the blue blazer black one- is amazing!
I Love FRIENDS!!! Thanks for this great video! And happy new year to all🥰👏🏼
Happy new year
To you!😍
'invented on the spot'... yes that's usually how improv works.

Matthew Perry is a genius for that last line. It’s the perfect last line, ends the show just like a novel
Friends is definitely one of the best hilarious shows ever 🤣 😂 I love it that they improvised quite a few episodes on that old show.
