+RandomUsername010 short answer.... the genius of Dre. Both Em and Inv are incredibly talented but unfortunately there is more to the business than music.
to be fair, this is the same world that made soulja boy a thing. silver lining - there are less dipshits to comment on stuff like this. music can help filter out the stupid people in life. lastly, you can go to your average popular garbage, read the comments and know you are vastly superior to every person there ;) just never comment, unless you completely ignore the responses, as stupidity is infectious in large doses.
Rated R Lack of mass appeal. I’d guess this lady refused to compromise. In some ways, I wish she would have. All the greatest artists maintained their integrity while still playing the game. Eminem made those compromises, yet still managed to maintain a certain level of credibility. I feel that if Invincible wanted to go that route, she could. On the other hand, I don’t pretend to know her story. All I can say is, after 3 songs of hers, she has some serious skills.
I think that people who have struggled with suicidal ideation/activity (such as myself and more than a few of my friends), as well as the recognized authorities on the study of suicide such as Kay Redfield Jamieson will probably all agree that while there is always the risk of copycat suicide by speaking of it, the greater risk lies in how a person who is suicidal generally feels that they can't speak to anyone about it. Songs such as this make us all feel less alone, even if we're not talking.
this rocks, its about truth bringing hope, we see orselves and we are not so alone! good work, I was a suicidal youth and I love this. I made it through, grateful for your music! kym hothead!
wow! invincible this is your best yet! i was glued to the screen, and it gave me chills. this content is sooooo important, and just because it's problematic doesn't mean it shouldn't be seen far and wide. i'm so proud of you
I remember back in 2013-14 I was sitting in my social studies class and my teacher was teaching us about global issues and she showed us all this song on the projector. the impact this song had on me made me go home and listen to it and I haven’t stopped since, definitely got me threw a lot of hard times even though back then my perception of the world was so different. I will never forget that teacher or this song as I know every lyric to it. As well as I hope they never take down Locusts, another favourite. Thank you invincible 🙏 keep making music I will always support, if theres a way to buy the album I would
Props. Lana! Much repsect for using your voice and ryhme skills to communicate this imp. message. After working in Skid Row, much of the mental illness I saw was due to lack of support, resources, outlets to channel the mad talent and art that most people end up there have. Hip Hop has saved my life in many ways, it must grow, and the message must continue to be spoken on. Thank you! Hope to see you again, next you get out here to LA! Blessings!
It's increasingly hard to find artists these days that are not just original but truly inspiring, this tune is incredible and the video is incredible. I'd never heard of Invincible before this morning but she now has one more fan. Typically MTV wanting to stop music by an underground artisit that has some real meaning, if this was the latest Eminem video then there would be a "Ropes" Happy Meal by now but because it's an up and coming artist they don't want to know. This is all round amazing.
This is a great video and a great song. MTV has been corporate beyond words for many years now, we shouldn't really be surprised. Gotta keep those advertisers happy.
For me she is the best female rapper by a mile but where the fuck is she now? I've been waiting soo long for her new works. Can anyone give me a real answer please?
yo this chick is brilliant. I've been diggin' her content since that Rawkus-produced "Hip Hop for Respect," but this newer shit I'm hearing is even fresher. Much love and support from DC.
I just found out about this lady tonight and I'm definiltely going to listen to more. A little bit of trivia: At 3:31 that same footage can be seen in the Right Brigade music video by Bad Brains.
WOW . that was very moving .. and Invinvible is a great artist ..as an aspiring female rapper I was inspired and blown away by her skills , the message , delivery , and subject matter .
Freedom of speech!!! It's a dyeing concept. Tiombe, America should be proud of you, for having the vision to bring this powerful statement to life. If governments would not be so oppressive, individuals would take charge of their own destiny. The power to live and fight for freedom is in all of us. Go girl go. a 50y-old male from down-under.
@powderdd about a month ago and iam not sure why but they went into who invincible is and what she has been through to get mtv to play her video on their university channel
Invincible = REAL music. I wish they would show us more real videos instead of feeding us this daily garbage we hear on the radio and tv. Suicide is a serious issue and it has affected some of my family members. These issues need to be brought to light. I agree with IdealistEyes, we should petition MTV to air this video.
"In order to commit suicide, one cannot write a meaningful note; conversely, if one could write a meaningful note, one would not have to commit suicide." -- Edwin Shneidman
Mtv is the problem....The Lyrics are too real so its an outlier in the Industry, not because its an elephant in the room, but because it points at the obvious elephant in the room so the industry dont like it because the industry is pure trash and doesnt like to raise awareness on anything decent, dont think for yourself, Just take your pills...theres no elephant, or in otherwords, they dont want you to talk about it...
I like it so much, very poetic ! Especially the contrast between the rapper-girl and the singer-girl. I would say I understand the two points of biew (the one of Invincible and the one of MTV). Maybe if young kids look at this all alone, it's problematic.
I don't agree with MTV's view, BUT....... it is their network, so it makes sense that they can choose what to play on their own station. It's not really unfair of them if you think about it. Pretty cool track though, I like it.
p.s. I'm emailing this link to everyone I know. I suggest if to everyone feeling this that everyone out there reading this do the same. p.s.s. I think if you followed the vid with a negative statistic involving suicide, that may help it become more acceptable. People usually need to be told how to feel/think about things. I can see a suicidal person seeing only the parts that agree with their outlook and taking the song as reassurance of their decision. They aren't rational, the pain
yo this is zig zag of "soul defecation" (check it out) and all i can say is thank god for not just a female with sense but a HUMAN with sense, one ultimate love on what you do invincible you are one of the things that reminds me why i do this. ONE LOVE
give then the version with the "problematic" words bleeped out... and a censored sign over the "problematic" images.... people who aren't afraid will find the real version. eff the rest. THose of us who are interested will want to know was really said.... those who don't ...eff em. If I wasn't lucky enough to be told about this vid by Mr. Cliffnote I wouldn't have known what I was missing, do what it takes to get it seen, mass media edits have nothing to do with artistic integrity...
let this be seen! let this be heard! the only thing problematic is the fact that people are sheltering an issue that needs to be resolved. the reason people commit suicide is because they feel alone. hiding the issue doesnt help. fuck mtv lets get this issue realized!
This video is so not offensive. It is necessary to discuss the undiscussed. I think the video is hot. Get at me I still need to get you the footage from Hip Hop Kemp...for good measure! 1.
I won't comment on how utterly wrong MTVu is, we all know that, given their usual programming. But Invincible got it out to people anyway and I think at least some of them *needed* to hear this to know they're not alone. I try to start conversations about this, and it usually ends with something like - "life sucks for everyone. suck it up." We definitely need a better mantra than that. Invincible = HERO. peace, lily
Surprising how songs about others killing each other are allowed and when someone speaks of the despair they experience and the desire to take their own life because of all the SHIT.. they refuse to show. Everyone has mental health issues.. this should wake up those with significant influence and say how can we make this world a place where person want to live, feel alive and be happy.. because if it isn't then the other side may seem or be more attractive. KEEP RAPPING!!
I don't know why shes not as famous as Eminem. She spits complex lyrics with meaning and relevance. She should be known worldwide.
Coz she chose not to sell her soul
+RandomUsername010 short answer.... the genius of Dre.

she's not attractive, welcome to the real world
to be fair, this is the same world that made soulja boy a thing.

The realist illest shit I've heard in a while. Can't believe I spent a decade w/o hearing these bars.
DAMN STRAIGHT!! The problem with suicide is people don't talk about it. People don't want to talk about it. My favourite MC.
One of my favourite throwback tracks
God Bless U Invincible. Thank U Emergence for sharing such an artist with the world.
Invincible is a genius !!! A Bad Ass!!
Keep doin' it Invincible! I live in the 616, right down the road in Grand Rapids, MI. I'm definitely a fan of yours.
a real issue we should be discussing! Thank you for making this song!
This is a great video and a great song. MTV has been corporate beyond words for many years now, we shouldn't really be surprised. Gotta keep those advertisers happy.
I'm showing part of this as part of a medical humanities presentation on hiphop and depression :D
For me she is the best female rapper by a mile but where the fuck is she now? I've been waiting soo long for her new works. Can anyone give me a real answer please?

Good video and deep content... kudos to MTV for finally coming to their senses.

Is Invincible still around making music?
Invincible = REAL music. I wish they would show us more real videos instead of feeding us this daily garbage we hear on the radio and tv. Suicide is a serious issue and it has affected some of my family members. These issues need to be brought to light.

Cool Video
music has been connected with violence forever. when we went to war way back in the day in the civil war, they played drums. babababapah attack. kill.
Invincible is a full blown modern heroine.
Go. On. Break. The. Silence.
Where's this girl rn?
what is the problem with the video they are afraid that touch some hearts?
