That also means that what's in the past is forgiven so that means you don't have to live with guilt of any mistakes you've might have made because God will forget it even happened as long as you do your best to not to keep making those same mistakes. I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real, it's impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me; it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

"The Fear Of God."
Fear of the Lord leads to life. Not just the beating of the heart. To real life. The true life. And I think about people, who are trying to live out their lives, looking for happiness, looking for peace, looking for joy, looking for this, looking for that, and the truth is, the source that they are looking for, is the very person they keep shoving away. "The Fear Of God." Now when you hear that, you ask yourself the question, well am I to be afraid of God? Or does it mean something else, and when it's used in the scripture, naturally we are to be afraid of God, If we are living in sin. He's our Holy God, a righteous God, now whether you are afraid of God, depends on how you are living. If you are living in sin you have a right to be absolutely afraid of God. He says (the soul that sinneth, It shall die), (the wages of sin is death). (It is appointed on to man once to die, and after this, the judgment). If you're living in sin, you have a right to be afraid of a (Holy God). (The one true God). (Jehovah Yahweh Elohim). His Son Jesus Christ the Lord. (Deuteronomy 13:4. Says you shall follow the Lord your God, and fear Him, and you should keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him), (that is His command). What do I mean by fearing God. It means simply this, to reverence Him, to honor Him, to exalt Him, to lift Him up, to hold Him in high regard, to worship Him, and to hold Him In high esteem, to obey Him, to acknowledge Him His worthiness, (to honoring His position as creator and judge of all mankind). When you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, that's what it means to fear the living God. No fear of God means, In their understanding as they view life, and as they view the world, no fear in God, no honoring God, In fact, God is a problem to them, because he gets in their way, Holy God does not tolerate sin, Holy God is not going to make you living in sin feel comfortable, or really enjoy yourself. For the moment you may have some brief moments of happiness and joy, but very brief, because Holy God hates sin, He doesn't hate the sinner, but He hates sin, He hates sin because of what sin does to His children, many may think, sin is having a good time, (God sees sin as a detriment to His will, purpose, and plan for your life), and this is why we all should understand what it means to fear the living God, because one day, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God. People who are living in sin think, why do I want God in my life? To keep you from dying and being eternally separated from God, and never being able to become the person God wanted you to be, and because you're going to miss Heaven. You don't Fear God, you are going to miss Heaven, you don't fear God and you die in that state ( your going to hell). I don't mean to be critical, but when you turn your back on God, your turning your back on your only hope, the one who loves you, cares for you, and wants the best for you. But He will not make you follow Him, not make you love Him, not make you obey Him, the fear of God is a Holy thought, no matter what people may believe, they cannot avoid the judgment of Holy God, who loves you, but is willing to give us enough free will, if you choose not to love Him, if you choose to die without Him, will let you have what you want, against His loving will. (The only perfect person died on the cross, rose again, seated at the father's right hand, to make intercession for you and me), God is Holy. Therefore we are to fear Him, why should we fear God? Because He commands it, and secondly because the Scripture says, (It's the beginning of knowledge). (Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge), there's a lot of people who think they are smart, they could have 25 degrees in 25 different subjects, they could be an authority above all other authorities, they may be knowledgeable about many things. If they do not fear God (they are missing out, about the most important thing in life), and that is a (personal relationship to Holy God). God says, it's the beginning of knowledge, true genuine knowledge. They may know some facts about many things, but what life's all about is learning who God is. It's the beginning of knowledge.
I’ve watched a lot of Dr. Stanley’s sermons. This has to be in my top 3 favorite and also top 3 most important messages.

Dr. Stanley is a great preacher. This message really spoke to me. Jesus go before all us believers, because you see what's around the corner, and we don't.

Surrender has confused me for ever because of how I grew up. If you want something done, there was only one person you can rely on, yourself. If there is a will, there is a way, rice can't cook rice, if you want it enough, you will do it, God helps those who help themselves etc. etc. Now I find the truth,

The idea is "I can't but you can, I think I will let you" That is surrender and dying to yourself. Trust in God is letting it all go and sitting down in a chair!

I'm from Poland, and I love listening to dr. Stanley. God is working through him. His probably never going to read this, but I'm so happy he was lead by God to preach, and helped me to understand what it's like to be a true Follower of Jesus Christ. Here in Poland people are blinded from the Catholic teachings. It's very, very sad that they never heard about being born again, and what it means to be lead by Holy Spirit, what it really means to walk with Jesus, and have personal relationship with Him, and if they heard lots of them reject it. Because it's so deep in our history, our families traditions. Often times when you tell them they never want to hear it again. Sometimes I feel very lonely.

Yes some things we want so bad for our own and don’t understand why things won’t work trust in the lord it is for our own protection somethings are meant or not the time yet and then there are things not are not meant for us at all with everything in life give it to God and allow him to guide you it’s the best thing to do don’t allow ur self to loose faith or trust
He spoke the truth when he said that the reason we don't surrender ourselves and our all to God is because we are afraid but afraid of what ? I guess it's we are afraid of the unknown. I guess it's our wavering faith that makes us so.
Emma, afraid of what??? People are afraid of ego death. People want to stay in control of their lives. And they need to identify with something. Whether it's income, your job, where u live, who u are considered in society. Tons of ways people are ego identified. When Christ said die daily, he meant the ego and all its attachments.

I don't work and have to ask my husband for money. I will ask him and if God will help me with this, I will definitely sow a seed.
The will of the father cares about what is good for everyone. God is one. Our own will is what separates us from god. If one is infected with sin and dont care his fellow human we can all become sinful. We need to surrender to God not our own thinking.
