So let me get this right. You get to travel first class to Vancouver; Helicopter onto an iceberg; find an 'extra' helicopter on the spare of the moment and fly in a jet ski into one of the remotest places in the north Americas; walk in ice water and get brain freeze in your feet; hopscotch across icebergs (risking your life if you'd fallen in from full body brain freeze); hang out with a bunch of great guys in one of the coolest places on earth AND YOU FAILED? WTF! most of these hates never leave their sad, dark bedrooms. Just happy you had no idea of the real dangers in that area. Grizzly's; Cougars; Wild wolves; Falling in ice cold water to name just a few ;) 2 thumbs up mate!

What I don't get is why only give yourself 24hrs to accomplish goal? You could have ironed out all the problems, knew exactly what you needed and gone out next day, ready to go. You set yourself up for failure.

You see what you dont realise is that you didn't fail... You got to hang out with some awesome people - had a great time, got to see/walk on icebergs, take helicopter flights because yolo. Now most of us wont even get to experience a heli ride during our lifetime. Trust me when i say this, you did not fail.
He set a goal for this movie he didn't accomplish that goal. So yes it was a failure the whole reason for the video was to wakeboard and they couldn't accomplish that goal so yes this is a failure. It's explained in the video nothing Wrong with the video but they still failed.

I preferred this video to the actual project. The music was better for a start. The real video was really obviously missing the climax and this explains it. I wouldn't say it wasn't anyone's fault though. Knowing the weight of the jet ski, knowing how much the chopper could safely lift, and packing a tool kit are well within the realms of good planning.

I really love how Casey handles failure. He doesn't get angry even though i'm sure he's frustrated at these turn of events. Sometimes the best way to deal with something is to laugh at it and just let it slide off especially when there's nothing that can be done to fix it

This actually gave me more encouragement than a Casey's usual full-hype motivational vlog. It's so inspiring to see him 'fail' but not break down after. He still uploaded the video and continued on with his amazing content the day after as if nothing happened. Never back down, stand your ground and keep working hard and making mistakes, that's what I've learned today and I thank you for it Casey.

casey, you could never fail at making anything. you are the most talented, skilled and driven person i have ever met. i have never seen somebody work so hard just to do something. you may think you have failed, but what you delivered is something much better.
pretty much anyone who has made movies knows this feeling. Sometimes, stories just aren't meant to be created
exactly, me and some friends on super short notice and very limited budget drove from st.louis to Destin, Florida to shoot a short film to enter into a film festival. we drove straight through the night. We had only 1 full day to shoot this thing before all of us had to be back in st.louis for jobs/school. Our little adventure was riddled with problems and was finally sidelined due to sand finding its way into the no no region of our camera... Though it was a disaster we had a blast and now 10 years later we all have families and responsibilities that would make a crazy trip like that impossible today. So I completely get why he doesn't look at it as a total failure,like us he just didn't get what he expected out of the adventure but he did get an adventure ;)
Walter White exactly! i know i've experienced that as a filmmaker. It's nearly impossible for everything to go perfect. I remember my film school teacher always told me Murhphys Law, "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong" it's just something that is part of the craft, no matter the budget. Even large scale productions have some mistakes
