Building the 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS: 1/25 Scale Model Kit from AMT/ERTL

From the stash is an older AMT/ERTL release of the 1964 Chevy Impala SS. My kit featured a missing dash board and funky wheels which were hard to glue on. Rough kit all around but at least it has some build options (wheels, interior), I would avoid this one.
I use spray can for most of the painting along with Tamiya Acrylic brush painting.
I use Tamiya Cement for connecting all the parts together along with Super Glue as needed

I like how the missing instrument panel was just a momentary challenge and how you quickly moved on without it. I sometimes feel as if the 1:1 manufacturers operated in much the same way.😉

Considering that this kit traces its origin to 1964, it still looks nice when built up. And say what you will about the lack of detail on these older kits, but you never had to fight to get the chassis/interior into the body shell. And when you were done, the kit sat squarely on all four wheels. I love these older kits! Nice job.

That looks great. I recently built the same kit. It was part of a three-car set though, and I stole the little 283cid engine from the ‘57 Chevy kit to make my ‘64 a little different. 😉
