Just traded my 2021 R1M for a 2023 Street Bob. It was so weird. And I agree, it was scary at first. Coming from a guy that cruises around 170mph no problem. But I’m beyond happy I did it. I needed to get off the liter bikes before something bad happened. With the street Bob you don’t even want to go fast but it’s nice to know the power is there.
Made the switch from sport bikes to a Harley this year and picked up a ‘23 street bob and couldn’t be happier. It’s definitely a different type of riding but just as enjoyable and the torque is addicting.
I picked up a 21' Street bob in March of this year for MSRP with only 800 miles on it. I've put about 3000 miles on it. The Milwaukee-8 is the most reliable and powerful (Sport-Cruiser) engine made by Harley-Davidson today. I have friends with over 40,000 miles on their bikes who've had 0 issues. Including none of the coveted "Harley leaks". On top of that while aftermarket parts are quite a bit pricier than most sport bikes, there is a MASSIVE market for it. You can stylize the bike anyway you want. Full on sport-cruiser, bobber, club-style, performance-oriented etc.. I've gone for a little bit of all of the above. I mainly went club-style so I got a the Memphis shades road warrior fairing and an exhaust (pretty much a must-have) since the stock exhaust weighs a shit ton and chokes the shit out of the engine and It really brings the "soul" of the bike out. The only real downside to the street bob as opposed to some of the other softail models is the tank size. If you plan on doing long trips the 3.5 GAL tank won't get you too far, but If you want to save yourself some money and build it to your liking you can pick up a 2018+ softail slim tank which is 5 GAL and that'll take you quite a ways. A little bit more stylish and requires some slight modifications but can be worth it if that's what your into. I've always loved speed and fast stuff, but after getting into riding, I've had way to many people on sport bikes pass. All bikes are dangerous and these street bobs are still quick for their size and design. I've gotten mine up to 120 (I'm a big boy) and that's exactly why I refuse to buy a sport bike. The amount of money I've spent I could've easily gotten a liter bike, but I've had so many sketch situations on my SB that I'm almost certain If I was on a street bike, I'd probably be dead. The street bob is a perfect combination of bang for your buck for a cruiser with a good bit of sport to it and It's perfect platform to build exactly what you want.
@@Zx10Rawr Yup those are between mid and forward. There is a kit you can buy from Harley to move them forward. It's a little pricey. I would say if you like a more sporty looking cruiser the Fat Bob would be a good choice and it does come with forward foot controls. The Street bob is more a traditional Cruiser customisable. Both great Motorcycles.👍
Man, that tricycle thing in front...I'm sorry, but I instantly think 'mobility scooter', can't help it. Anyway, owned supersports, now on retro bikes, but that Harley looks quite the relaxed ride too. Wouldn't switch my current bikes however :-)
I use to have a Ducati-at 186 horsepower and top speed of 225 mph. Very fun on the Highway and curvy roads, but in many ways it was boring at low speeds. I could start out in third gear and red line first gear at 90 mph. I changed over to a Harley Davidson because I was always speeding. Harley Davidson and Indian make sport cruiser bikes which you may like.
I have this bike but in redline red lol.. it does tell you the rpm, you got to switch it by pushing that little button with the arrows going in a circle on the left handle bar above the horn. you can see mph, rpm, trip one, trip 2 and mileage.
I love my street bob 21 114 state 2 clubbed out. Sold my Ducati.. loved my Ducati but was afraid one day I'll die on her.. monster 1200 154 HP My other bike is a Triumph 900 GT Pro. 2022.. Best of both worlds one to four touring and one for LA Cali
Man, I had an original Suzuki katana 1100, when they come out, after owning it for about two years I tok a Harley for a test ride, hooked ever since. Enjoy 😉😁
U can add forward controls on them I run mids of my 22 streetbob u can also get highway/crash bar I’m getting one for mine stretch out some it’s a awesome bike though
Dude on the Freewheeler looks like me when im on mine 🤣 😂 right in the mix with everybody else. Dont sleep on the Freewheelers fellas. They are fun as hell. Sometimes i have a hard time choosing which of my bikes im gonna ride on long distance trips. My 17 Street Glide or my 16 Freewheeler lol
i bought one a few months ago, put forward controls on it, plus cruise control. great bike. he keeps talking about his cowie, this bike is head and shoulders above that metric junk. all in all, this is a lousy reviewer of bikes.

Definitely a whole different world! Glad to hear how it is from someone that was on this side!
The power isn’t there lol😂

I couldn't bring myself to sell the ninja, but glad to know if I ever do this is a good time to get!
I have a Bob myself. I enjoy it because the riding position is nicer than a sport bike for me. Mash the menu button and it shows RPM

It does have rpm if you cycle through the options
The 114 is 1800 cc if anyone wondering that prob why u feeling torque
Also it has rpm
Bigger engine than most cars have over here. Even with lazy tuning it should shift a heavy bike like this around with ease.
Hi, The SB does have a RPM gauge. On the top left button you can change to see your rpm. You can also add forward foot controls to it . 👍
Oh nice! That's actually great to know, I liked the ride but the feet position was a turn off.

Same thought on the trike! But since I never rode one, I'll keep my mouth shut. Try too. Maybe! Training wheels for a motorcycle? Stop it.
Did you buy one. If you did you'll know it has got a rev counter and you can fit forward controls.
I have had 2harley baggers 1 wide glide ,super black bird and driving my 2nd zx14r loved them all Nova Scotia
Once you get used to it, you'll really enjoy the bike
I can definitely see that being the case, would like to have both and just switch between!

I went from sports bikes to a street bob as well. It was awkward at first lol now I’m more comfortable once you get used to it.
Always have had sport bikes, done track days, and all that jazz. I’m actually looking at the street bob also.

Gotcha, yeah wish I knew that ahead of time! But thanks for the callout, first time riding and a newbie to the HD world!
You can easily install forward controls. The Touring models have floor plates and usually no forward controls.
I have a 23 street bob and it does have rpm, mileage, trip a & b, and a clock that you can cycle through using the hand controls
I love my street bob 21 114 state 2 clubbed out.

There’s a front control conversion kit on it instead of the mid control and also press the menu button for rpms
It does have RPM. Just press the left top button and you can flip through total miles, trip a and b, RPM.
you shifted more on that test ride than i shift in a year
Looking to trade in my R7 and was looking at the Lower Rider S.
It has RPM’s on the gauge. You just have to scroll through.
U can add forward controls on them I run mids of my 22 streetbob u can also get highway/crash bar I’m getting one for mine stretch out some it’s a awesome bike though
I added the mustache bar and engine protector for a place to put my feet when I feel like The easier rider.
Went from an R6 to R1 to Speed Triple to 1290 SDR to Harley. Very weird transition, but I love my Street Bob.
What's the handlebar on this?

It does have a tach, the selection button on left
yup.. put on some crash bars.. attach some hwy pegs.. then you could put your feet out and get all comfy.
You can customize that bike a lot you can change the controls as well you can move them forward
Did you ever get one?
I am planning too to move from Suzuki GXSR1000 to street bob 114
You gotta push the circle button to see miles and rpm’s. I have a 2020
Take out the lowrider s man just picked mine up 3 weeks ago and I’m already at 1000 miles .. love it man
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to go check one of those out next time.
It does have an rpm screen. I have the same exact bike.
I bought a 114 Fat Bob last year.Got rid of my second RSV4 and third Hayabusa for it and couldnt be happier.Had enough of sport bikes
It has rpm you gotta cycle through the gages
Use the Torque not the Gearbox!
I guess it is just a matter of habits, mate. I purchased a custom bike last year as my first one and I'm afraid to ride a sport bike 😅.
haha very true, all about what you are used to!
Absolutely is a tach... Toggle from clock to rpm ..
Dude you aint too educated on Bobs .. you can absolutely get front foot rests. Mine has them on the crash bar
I love harleys they sound like tractors
Hey man, did you know it does have a tach? 😂
Being sarcastic for all the it has a tach comments.
AT 58 is time to stop trying to break the sound barrier and move to the potato, potato territory.
Stop talking about no RPMs, and you can custom everything...

😂 Kawasaki is far superior in every aspect you can imagine. That being said, I can appreciate this bike and I plan on getting one someday.
@@engr_e the kawasaki i had was not at all superior
Why not get a 50cc scooter if u ride this like one? 😂
he didn't even know it does show rpm"s. just too uninformed to know how to put display in desired mode
this guy is a terrible test rider. his reviews are lacking in every respect
