@yammak2004 Oh yeah? Well I used a "BEC apparatus" to create the Bose-Einstein Condensate required to access a local negative mass cosmic string by which I reinserted myself at approximately the present moment, having gained an additional ten years of listening beyond the approximately 32 years this recording has currently existed. So, HA! _By the way, anyone want to buy a slightly used Bose-Einstein Condensate? Only one owner, good condition._ _I'm getting too old to add any more years onto my "life odometer"..._ 😄
HCJ is the man! His song "I've got a great idea" off the we are in love album is my secret weapon. If the date is going really good & she comes back to the house, I'll put that song on & ask for a dance. Good times proceed! 😊
This is pretty much boogie woogie, the left hand is playing the rhythm section and the right plays the main but Harry has always played and changed it along with his own style.. This always gives me goosebumps and made me tingle, love Harry and his music.. He's always been the same with his personality and attitude and his character.. Met him 2xs at his concerts and he's always been a humble man..
Didn't Harry study under Ellis Marsalis Jr. In fact, I remember Wynton Marsalis talking about how they studied under his tutelage at the same time. If true, you don't get much more New Orleans jazz than Marsalis.
I've always liked Harry Connick, Jr. He's probably underappreciated. Though clearly heavily influenced by Monk (and vintage New Orleans practitioners) he has enough of himself in the music to warrant serious listening.
Haha yeah I used to watch this on VHS quite a lot, too. When Katrina hit, I would listen to his version of "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans" over and over again and cry. My father loved this, too.
OH MY GOSH! This dude is INCREDIBLE!!! Not even MY piano teacher can do this stuff, and she's my orchestra teacher too! She is a bit of a showoff every now and then.
I really like to hear him sing, but I love to hear him play the piano. I saw him live in Charlotte maybe 8 years ago and I was bummed out that he didn't play Avalon. It was still a fantastic concert though
One of the most underrated jazz piano players!
Brilliant kept jazz alive for another generation!
Reminds us what it is to be alive!
I've been watching this video for more than 25 years; it never gets old
Oh yeah? Well I've been watching this video more than 26 years...
😀We're old and in good company!
agree 100 percent
And it will never. Pure brilliance!!

One of the most underrated pianists around. Don't see enough of him here in the UK...

The best live piano performance of all time. Harry is the King.
Me also… watched this for decades.
A million thumbs up 👍 ❤
Harry is New Orleans Jazz and funk. Very gifted musician.
Man this guy can play! Go Harry!
The sweat is just POURING off his face! That's dedication right there! (And very hot spotlights)
That's true, but he's working as hard as any athlete. As listeners, we tend to forget that making music is often, as here, darned hard work.

that solo is actually genius
Harry's dripping with sweat and oozing talent!
I still get chills and its still my all time fave jam from H.C.jr.. LOVE IT
i wish i had this much passion for something

HARRY!!!
Never gets old.
Such a wonderful talent.💜
Unbelievable! The best!
i love his touch. I remember when i heard the album version of this tune, it blew me away. I liked how he played here also.
Jimmy Figueras hello! I know it’s been 2 years... do you know which song this was from his albums?
Outstanding.
Between this and peanut butter, I'd take this every time.
I just adore him....sigh
Thanks so much for posting this -- my VCR Tape broke a couple years ago and have missed seeing it.
🤯 I had no idea
Jazzy Sea, I love you. You make my RUclips Worth while :) Your Channel is by far my favorite and has been a couple years now!

Yep! He learned some stuff from James Booker as well!
Yes he did. Ellis was Harry’s teacher at NOCCA and Booker was one of Harry’s private teachers.

Notice the left hand.
Amazing
I agree!!
@sippyjuice This is from the Swinging Out Live video he release back in the VHS days.
He's got the full package like Nat Cole, Jacki Byard, and of course, Monk
um, he gets it... !
Old like to know how he plays that run at the beginning
Thanks Tiffany..glad you've favorited Jazzysea :)
Used to have this on vhs (its dead now, I've watched it so many times) Anyone know if this is on dvd, cant find it in Australia.
Haha yeah I used to watch this on VHS quite a lot, too. When Katrina hit, I would listen to his version of "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans" over and over again and cry. My father loved this, too.
+ syncopated 12 bar...at 3:52
what concert is this from, I remember seeing it when I was still in highschool and can't seem to find any info on it....anyone know?
I think it was Swinging Out Live. I have it on vhs somewhere in storage.
Dallas, Tex.
Innovative - He out-did Sun Ra ~~~
Sweet and stormy three part, compositn ;,2, 3 are more like fission...
I had to double-check that my playback speed wasn't set to 1.5x
My parents love this solo, it always makes me think of them. So underrated and under-watched.
Harry ate that up and left no crumbs!!!!!
Man, this is so good. I could listen to him all day!
Virtuoso performance. Bravo!!!
I did my tap dance solo to this!
My VHS copy of Swinging Out Live is holding up so far. People forget what a phenomenal pianist Harry is.
Miles Ishiki I used own this VHS. I lent it to a guy . . . never got it back.
Had this on VHS and wore it out. Good times...
Saw this guy in person.......never got over it!
Love his style
A bit to extreme on the improv stuff
Man this guy is good.
why audiences clapped while Harry was performing?
Amazing talent!
Hey, thanks, I've been looking for this solo for a very long time. Vintage Harry.
2018....and this song still as badass as ever
Did he write this?
Bout 6:34... Mic Drop.
Almost as talented as Eminem, Tupac, Debbie Gibson...you know, the true greats.
It's so odd to watch jazz where they clap half way through in the middle of the song,
Do you have the video of this concert when they play sweet georgia brown with the band?
OH MY GOSH! This dude is INCREDIBLE!!! Not even MY piano teacher can do this stuff, and she's my orchestra teacher too! She is a bit of a showoff every now and then.
So much Monk here. Amazing
Classic example of 'theme & variations'. just awesome.
Was this at the Avalon in Hollywood?
My dream is to play on a Steinway...
is the sheet music available ?
Great dude.. amazing talent.
You're welcome :-)
They want to talk to Hank
O how I love this music
Boss
