This has some great old God Dethroned vibes in it. These guys are one of the most consistent, but underrated bands in Melodic black/death.
My first was Bloody Blasphemy, it changed my view on death metal as a genre.
Henri is the only founding member left and he brings the GD signature sound so can still here remnants of their earlier blackened sound in the new music. This is pretty good!
I found a huge resemblance to some songs of the 'Ravenous' album. I got the chance to se them live here in Colombia, and as you said, they're quite underrated.

A very underrated band. Those are beasts playing metal, especially the drummer, Michiel Van Der Plicht.

I told ppl about 20 years back that god dethroned are the ultimate best death metal/black metal band of all time!!!!! I did not lie, and it is great to see they are still doing QUALITY material after all these years. The Christhunt demo I had back around 1992, and I had never heard a vocalist with such a shroud voice, sounded like SATAN. Every single album they did is GOLD, very serious about the writing and no fillers in any of the songs. This album reminds me of how they sounded on bloody blasphemy, another fav! But the all time best disc in my opinion was and still is THE LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM! That album is untouchable...all hail the kings

But this is more epic, and brutal then Bolt Thrower.

Damn I have to get more of this band . Every song I have heard is awesome. Must clarify I am fairly new to this band. Only heard about 5 songs but all epic .
They are solid and have been for many years. I personally recommend "Bloody Blasphemy" above all their other albums though!
I didn't know there were still good death metal bands from The Netherlands...! What a nice surprise, God Dethroned sounds better than ever....! They certainly blend the most important elements from the best classical death metal and get it into a better level....! Their sound is powerful and amazing....! God Dethroned really rules...! This band is sadly underrated, never groundbreaking (which is really hard in Death Metal if not impossible) but very solid for what they have been releasing. Also the melodies are fucking decent.
