Hailing from the abysmal forests of the mystic North, Belzebubs has possessed a stealthy, cult status throughout their existence. Originally summoned together in 2002, the band has succeeded in creating a thrilling blend of melodic black metal, guttural growls and vivid solos, forged with progressive twists and cinematic soundscapes. Accompanied by a new drummer and a three-record-deal with Century Media, Belzebubs finally feels fit to take on the (under)world. “Cathedrals Of Mourning” is the band's first second single, taken from their upcoming debut album, “Pantheon Of The Nightside Gods”. It was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö, who's also responsible for the sound of Dark Funeral’s The Secrets Of The Black Arts, Dissection’s The Somberlain and many more.

04:43 - I wonder if the coffee drinking guy is the creator JP Ahonen "cameo".. Because the guy looks a bit like his self portrait toon at his webpage bio, and is wearing a jacket with RoPS logo... RoPS = Rovaniemen Palloseura, football (soccer) team from Rovaniemi, Finland, where JP studied graphic design. Maybe a bit far-fetched, but still... 🙂

The project was created by JP Ahonen and this album was mixed by Dan Swäno fron Edge of Sanity but we don't officially know who are playing the instruments. The only one that we can almost 100% be sure is Niilo Sevänen on the vocals since he has a really recognizable growl.

Black Metal needs more bands like this: people who take their art seriously but don't take _themselves_ seriously. Because all too often in the genre, it's the other way around.

Oh yeah! Black metal leaves itself wide open for parody because it relentlessly just takes itself too damned seriously! This is why I love Belzebubs; the music is outstanding and the imagery is equal parts loving tribute and loving parody, and it works really well. The part where Hubbath's whirling in the snowball near the end always makes me laugh every time I watch this video.
the black metal has been phaggot since like the 90s. no one took this shit seriously after like 97. It just turned to death metal where the people in it act tough but never do anything. Like how punk turned into blink 182 and how glam metal kids were more hardcore than modern kids. the never forget the never forget it actually started on people having some sort of serious values and now just pop culture bulshit
While not black metal, Psychostick is a good example of this. Their music is great despite being a comedy band.
