i must say i really love the sound of this EQ+. keytracking, sidechaining, dynamic eq via modulators is wonderful as well. great addition to the Bitwig arsenal! keep shining bright Bitwig!!! thanks for being so inspiring in so many ways!!
The EQ+ is a lovely addition to the awesome plugin spectra of Bitwig Studio. Shift is super useful for metallic / resonating patches with key follow. Great work guys! ;D
7:12 you've set modulation from Keytrack to EQ+ Shift to full amount (72), whereas the Spread on keytrack was set to 60. They have to be the same value (60/60 or 72/72) for the Shift to move precisely with the notes :)
Hey xilent, thank you for your feedback! The mouse wheel changes Q value, the steepest slope in EQ+ is 48dB/oct. EQ+ is not a linear phase EQ. All the best!
Geez, I've been doing that kind of eq automation in fl studio for years, but it's so much setup and time. Bigwig is everything I've wanted a DAW to be, but so much better then I could have imagined. Great job guys!
6 year FL user here. I've been looking at bitwig from a distance for a few months and have to say I'm blown away by the thoughtful design that you're putting into the daw and its stock plugins, as well as how cohesive the software feels. I first heard about it from some of Baphometrix's videos and have been dabbling since. I'm so close to making the switch. If the soon to be released FL 21 doesn't have mind blowing, life-changing features, I'll be done with it for good. The only reason I haven't made the switch yet is because FL's patcher is really good and can accomplish 99.99% of things FL is otherwise incapable of. But bitwig's grid/fx chain features seem to do everything patcher is capable of and more, so I'm 👌this close.
4 samples "built-in" latency within an EQ and without the possibility of latency compensation is weird for a professional DAW. Many users have reported this 2 years ago and asked for a fix, nothing happend. Bitwig said, that this (4 samples integrated latency ) was necessary for inserting the EQ+ without crackles / clicks while playing. Seriously? Why don't you implement an option, so the user can decide, if he wants to use this "feature" or not? Parallel processing with uncompensated latency is a no go.
I would love to see a zero latency toggle even if it means it starts cramping or something, eq+ is so cool I just don't feel like adding latency to my project for most eq duties
Some questions: * Can I copy/paste curves from one instance of EQ+ to another? * Do the points of the curve respond to MIDI CC? * Is it possible to reverse a curve? If these are currently not features, then please consider this a feature request.
Cumon lads. I support bigwig all the way and i wish you nothing but prosperity. 3.3 we need to create some next level out of this world fucked up futuristic piano roll and drum pattern sequencer. This will be a game changer lads! I got some really good ideas and designs in mind for this. Please get in touch bitwig
Bitwig is one of the best daw I've ever used. The only feature is lacking in Bitwig is piano roll scale highlighter. So that beginners can write melody quickly. This feature is available in StudioOne. In StudioOne's pianoroll you can select a scale and lock the pianoroll. Then write a chord or melody with closed eyes. We are waiting for this feature in Bitwig.
It would be really helpful to have a Horizontal Piano Roll to display MIDI notes with different colors to distinguish the Channels. Lets say we have 3 piano tracks, the right hand colored in red, the left hand colored in blue, and bass in purple. The Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard can do this, but it is not even a VST, I use it with LoopBe1. Bitwig should add this option as a native device. sourceforge.net/p/vmpk/support-requests/30/ vmpk.sourceforge.io/ Check out MIDIculous, just to mention more examples. The ChodieApp has a very good stylish keys.

Bitwig Studio comes with multiple Container devices, one of which is the "Mid-Side" Container. Just put an instance of EQ+ into both slots of that Container, to process Mid/Side individually. Of course you can also use any other device in this Container, including VSTs.

@@DaKingof, but this is not what I want for doing M/S, or L/R eq'ing. It's annoying extra steps, needlessly complicated, for example you'll have to set the Mid as the reference for Side if you want the spectrums overlayed on top of each other. No thanks.
@@Robert-kx8mp how is it annoying extra steps? You just set it as a preset and pull it up when needed. If you want overlapped spectrum then you'll need to use a spectrum after and select both. That's the only extra steps that would be there if you wanted that functionality... other than that, save a preset for everything.
@@DaKingof if i'm eq'ing some drums, I don't want to go digging for some special EQ preset, or for a M/S container, plus another instance of EQ+, when I decide I'd like to try a little boost to the top end, but only for the side channel. So yeah, that's just one example.
I have read that some equalizers are more optimized for static eqing and some for automation (for example UVI Shade). So I wonder, where does EQ+ fit in? Is just great for everything? Or will I hear glitches etc with extrem/fast automation?
Please add delay compensation for EQ+ to make it even more useful on parallel processing
