Its a shame that Roadkill is gone, but the amount of people they influenced to get out there and get their old cars goin is great. Keep at it! 👍🏻 Edit* sounds like some major valvetrain issues.
Not sure what roadkill is but I will check it out. Thanks for the comment. And yes I believe that the lifters are clattering around probably since it sat for so long. I will more than likely pull the engine and rebuild it since it probably could benefit from it, I just wanted to see how it'd run before I pulled it.
@larryrogers3607 Most of their content was removed because MotorTrend wanted to start charging a subscription. But some episodes remain, and their best by far is them getting a 1968 Charger going that they call General Mayhem. They started their show back when all old cars had to be show cars. Just taking something that's been sitting, or rusty/beat up, making it run then having fun with it was unheard of at the time. At least mainstream wise.
Watching this old Buick be brought back will be fun to follow. Talk about getting your stuff stolen. I did Military Police at Fort Benning from 2005-2007. I was called to a storage facility on Main Post for what was thought to be a burglary of one of the units. A 2nd Lt had returned from his deployment and went to the storage unit and discovered all his items were gone and replaced with items belonging to someone else. To shorten the story. The storage facility was also available to off-post civilians and a clerk at the office rented out the unit. The civilian thought the stuff was abandoned and took all of it out into Columbus and scattered it around to various donation centers. There is a lot more to tell, but I reckon you get the gist of it. The one thing the Lt was concerned about the most was a foot locker of all his Army mementos from day one at Basic Training up his OCS; I don’t know if he ever got the trunk back.
I am really looking forward to working on this car since I am almost done with my Formula. Already ordered some parts for it. As for the Lt I would be very angry that someone's mistake led me to losing all my stuff. As for my experience, My dad was watching my house for me which was off base and after he passed away some lowlifes decided to break in and steal everything. When I got back home on leave the entire house was empty and the garage out back was empty as well. Lost a Pontiac 400 engine and Turbo 400 from the garage and all my tools. Some people are just opportunistic vultures unfortunately.
Hey cool vid thanks for posting up. At 7:15 or so is that spark ⚡️ jumping off the driver side plug wires or some kind of illusion I’m seeing, lol? Check it out at night running maybe 🤔 Be cool, freezer’
It was actually a cobweb. The car's last owner passed away and the car sat for years before his son decided to sell it to me. Glad you pointed that out though because I thought I cleaned most of them off.
