    Very good video. Easy to understand. Is there a way to auto-upload photos to the drive from my mobile when I'm out and about, like Onedrive or Google Photos does? I want to do away with paid-for cloud storage.

    Really through video , extremely useful. Is there a way to auto-backup pics/vids from android to a cloud the way google does? Mega nz works but seems pretty awkward to use and of course only works with their cloud.

    Do I need to configure/format the SSD drive before plugging it in? I'm having trouble creating new folders within the drive VIA the ASUS GUI on my browser. Should I disconnect the drive, plug it into my computer and add folders that way?

    I did all the steps but can't access outside my environment because of NAT conflict. I have the same router but your vidieo didn't show the conflict, highlighted in yellow. Any way I can bypass, override or disable it without affecting my sons game console?

    Very good instructions. great video by far than others. After 6 hours I still cannot access my USB drive. Ai cloud will not work nor does local network see the drive. ASUS router sees it but I cannot get access. My ASUS must be junk.

      I would use OpenVPN to connect to your router. This will allow you to connect to your home network through your router so you have access to all storage devices in your network, qnap or Synology or pc's.

    Hey any alternatives if my ISP do not wanna give me bridge connection to get public WAN IP? How does ASUS IOS Aicloud app even go pass this without using DDNS anyway?

      maybe you should try NAS from Synology because Asus AIcloud only working on ISP who give you access to Public IP Address and not for Private IP Address, cmiiw

Inside, works great, but if I try to access from a different location (from the cell app or a browser), a message saying that it is not possible to connect. Is anything I can do?       What is youy Internet connection type? (Dynamic IP, Fixed IP, Nat,...) Also, do you have 2 routers at home, the ISP router and the Asus or the Asus is connected directly to the ISP's Modem?

      My ISP router is in Bridge mode, and a LAN cable connect to my ASUS router. It is Dynamic IP.

    I tried to make a local network through media share, or Samba with the ASUS TUF-AX5400 (but without any AI cloude). So I put in my mini usb thumbdrive. And the ASUS found it. But when I put in my bigger hdd, the ASUS did not find it. I had 1 Seagate on 3TB, and 1 Seagate on 12TB. And none of them was found. Beside the smaller thumbdrive on 16gb. I havent used this USB port for anything before. Is it important to configure for certain hdd sizes ? Heard about this problem before ?

      It wasn't possible on the TP-Link routers that I had: AX55 & AX73. Don't know about your model.

      Yes you can upload a file with the aicloud app..
      Open the app and select your device, browse to the folder you want to upload to.
      Touch the big blue circle with the white + symbol, it will ask you to create another folder or to upload a file.

    i have the following message on my DDNS page "The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address.
    This router may be in the multiple-NAT environment. While using an External check might allow DDNS to reflect the correct IP address, this might still interfere with remote access services." following your steps i can login when on my network but if i go to another network the DDNS link wont work

      Talk to your ISP, they might have a solution to forward the traffic for your IP to you

    And if I try to access it through Windows, it return the message that the remote device would not accept the connection.

      exFAT is not supported. Here's the list of file formats supported by Asus: event.asus.com/2009/networks/disksupport/

    I'm having trouble:
    1. accessing my files outside of my home network using AiCloud 2.0 (Android) app; but accessing files inside my home network is working
    2. showing the USB files/folders in Network folder (connected from modem, not Asus AP)
    My ASUS AC68U is set up as an AP (connected to modem) with 2 USB hard disks (NTFS, 1Tb and 2Tb). I have all your steps in your video done. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

      check you ISP if they give you access to Public IP Address or not, I think they only give you access to Private IP Address so you can't access Aicloud outside your local network

    Thank you for your video explanation. I can not set up this function because I get a message 'invalid IP address'. => WAN IP: 192.168.1.3.
    How can I get around this? I am using an IP address randomly assigned to me by Softbank JP. Internally, my WAN IP address becomes as per the above. Does this mean I can not use ASUS' DDNS service? Thanks. Jerry. Tokyo.
