Which one? 243, ARC? I bought the components for an ARC build, but I have a 6.5 Grendel. For my comfortable distance, just did not make sense. Anyway, great shot from that distance. Especially hearing that wind kick up. That's where those high BC bullets shine. Most folks love the backstraps, they are great. But I love messing around with the ground and making burgers, meatballs, chili, summer sausage, breakfast sausage, etc. Nothing like organic meat. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot. 325-350 is at the edge of my comfort zone, it’s a lot farther than a lot of people think it is. With 9x scope it’s about as far as I can see well. And where I live you’d rarely get a shot passed 200yds anyway.

A good and perfectly fatal hit through both lungs. I've killed around 180 deer, and I guarantee you he piled up within a scant few seconds of the end of this clip. It just depends on whether they are are the top or bottom of a breath.

Shot was a little high,but at that distance it sometimes happens. Deer didn't go far. Icall that a clean kill. I ussually drop a whitetail where it stands, but on occasion I've blown their heart plumb out the other side, and they still run farther than that mule deer just did. Nice Buck congratulations

Reading the comments, I see you killed that muley. Since there wasn’t a trophy pic I assumed it was wounded/lost. most of the time there’s shock to the spine and they drop. there’s a small window where a pass through and lost can happen. i thought you had hit that spot.

To each his own opinion. My opinion, based on guiding many "long range" hunters, is that shots on an animal at 500+ yards should never be taken. Too many things can go wrong and they usually do.

I typically won't take a shot past 600 unless the conditions are bloody perfect, and by that, I mean no wind, east-west or west-east shooting, and a level target. Shooting otherwise is a risky shot but I've taken them with good results. I took a 335 5/8ths Elk at 545 quartering away and punched his lungs and took out his aorta above his heart. .300 win-mag 700 Rem....Love your channel BTW!

In my state 100 yards is long range, try shooting through a jungle of under brush. Most shots are within 40 yards because that's when you actually have a clear sight picture

And you know nothing about hunting. I've seen them go 250yds on a double lung, 100yds through the heart. Especially a buck in rut. Does will go down a lot of the time, but even they tend to run 25-50yds when their lungs are literally soup.

I’ve shot game before but has to be close enough to be accurate and with a caliber that will drop the animal right where it stands, otherwise it is inmoral and a sin to inflict suffering for sport.

To some people it is.
It's almost the length of 3.5 football fields. To me, that's long enough when hunting.

Not all high shoulder shots drop the animal instantly. This guy dropped just out of sight of the camera, about 50 yards from where he was shot.
