- Опубликовано: 12 сен 2024
- Alvan & Ahez will represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with the song 'Fulenn'.
Performing France’s Eurovision 2022 entry, we have Alvan (a multi-instrumentalist musician specialising in electro) and Ahez (a trio comprised of Marine, Sterenn D. and Sterenn L., 3 Breton singers of traditional heritage, who perform contemporary stories mixed with the myths of their region).
The song tackles the Breton legend of a young woman who emancipates herself from societal norms by dancing at night bathed in the light from a bonfire.

Let's go!
In the darkness of the woods germinates the night
The stars appear in the restless rustle
A feminine shadow twirls in the light of a torch
Ignoring the wild beasts I dance
I steal the fire from their gaze full of lust
And turn it into a song to sing in unison
She dances with the devil, so what?
I dance with the devil, so what?
Heat and mud, heat, party and mud
The forest vibrates with the dancing spark
Its enchanting magic rises up to the tall trees
Ignoring the wild beasts I dance
I steal the fire from their gaze full of lust
And turn it into a song to sing in unison
Fearless in the middle of the forest clearing, the spark is dancing
Raging souls twirl and twirl around her
Fearless in the middle of the forest clearing, the spark is dancing

Italy won with a lesser spoken language and very bad song...that some white people call "music". So anything is possible 😂But more seriously that song deserved much better!
I think it's more because they have to support Ukraine
I blame the running order for this…🥺
its more the fact the performance AT the competition was severely underwhelming. technical difficulties + messed up vocals will do that ^-^
as a french, i'm so proud of our entry. i don't care about its final ranking, whether it ends up 5th or 21st i'll be proud of them. it's so important to celebrate our regional identities and to show that France isn't only Paris, baguette, Eiffel Tower. the breton language has been forbidden during decades in schools, children would be punished if they spoke it. so yes, you can dislike it but i'm proud of my country taking risks !
"...the French government has attempted to stamp out minority languages-including Breton-in state schools, in an effort to build a national culture. Teachers humiliated students for using their regional languages, and such practices prevailed until the late 1960s."
Seriously? That's so cruel... You're right nothing wrong when someone is using their regional language!! Anyone who doesn't like it should be more than proud instead!

I really didn't expect France would send an entry like this. but this is just very good.
This is why I love Eurovision! Discovering different cultures, languages, styles and bands on our continent. So, for example, last year Go_A for Ukraine presented what I think is the best direction for a song at the Eurovision Song Contest. A style between traditional elements and popular music of this days. Although many were skeptical about Katarina's color of voice, in the end, with a spectacular performance, they were 2nd with the televote! This song further reminded me of the diversity in Europe and that France is not just Paris, Nice and Monaco. I hope that new generations will also get to know the Breton language and that part of France through this song. I think the UK and Ireland should turn in that direction and introduce us to their culture, something in the style of Enya. On that note, I send warm Illyrian greetings to the Celtic part of France! Bonne chance au concours Eurovision de la chanson et je suis convaincu que la Croatie votera pour cette chanson! 🇫🇷❤🇭🇷

No matter of its final position, for me it's one of the best French entries of the last years.
Wooow. I didn't expect from France performance like this. This is crazy :). Love it.
I think it will be on top 3.
12 points from AZERBAIJAN 🇦🇿❤️
I would be proud to have this song representing europe.
Let's vote in mass for this masterpiece!
My favourite entry this year, thank you France for sending such a unique song!! Lots of love from Italy 🇨🇵🤝🇮🇹
Grazie mille dalla 🇫🇷😘 Auguri all'Italia con amore ..😘🇮🇹
Love from France! Your entry is as always amazing 🇫🇷❤️🇮🇹
The song is probably unique because it's not french, just saying x)
Mi aspettavo dalla loro nazione una canzone tipo la nostra. E dalla nostra nazione una canzone tipo la loro. Ironico :)

I have been listening to this song on repeat
like 50 times today

i love me some folk rave
This is not just a song, this is a whole magical ritual, they hypnotize people to vote for them
This!
It is different for France but Its typical ESC sound song - nothing new here …
@@tom_4546 give me 10 other songs like this, I’m waiting.
@@flzrin Ok - Norway 2019, Ukraine 2004, 2021, Latvia 2022, Ireland 2014, and planty songs in the National selections … I am not saying this song is bad but it has similarities with others typical ESC songs as also other 39 in this Eurovision …. Idk - it soo 2008/2007 sound song - not feel it now :(
@@almydesaix4346 those songs don't sound like this
This has winner vibes for me. It’s very original for France and the energy and presentation are both entrancing.
Agreed
I would be happy if this won!
🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Looks like the finalist from Spain
Look TANXUGUEIRAS of Spain
Wooow This Song iz Amazing!!! France is phenomenal this year. Good luck and 12 points from Serbia 🇷🇸🇫🇷
Thank you ! 🇫🇷❤🇷🇸
The real winners for me. Their song is amazing❤️❤️
Never expected such a damn BANGER from France. This entry is beyond AMAZING !
Voila was also a BANGER
Only banger was Amir and Patricia Kaas
@@tom_4546 no not really
@@bennyfilysour9727 sadly and proudly Yes - this was is typical ESN song - congrats for Bretan lang at ESC tho
@@tom_4546 answer still no
After hearing all entries 3 times during this week, I have to say that this is definitely in my TOP 3.. probably my absolute favorite!! Well done France!! Good luck from Portugal ♥
Obrigado! 🙏
Bravo la France. C'est vraiment énorme!! Vive l'Europe diverse, vive l'Europe unie, vive l'Europe libre!
Iconic this masterpiece.
France at last remembered that they have one of the best avant garde / electro scenes
Per un istante ho pensato.... non capisco più il francese!?!?!? Veramente geniale!!! Twelve points from Italy 🇮🇹
Grazie bonne chance à vous aussi 🥰
Wow this was very unexpected from France, love it!! 🇮🇹
Dude i'm italian (we kinda have this rivarly thing with france lol) and even I think this song is dope, mind boggling how it came 24th!
C'mon !! Give France the trophy already !!!
This song is such a bop ~
I'm obsessed, can't stop listening. 🤭🤭🤭💓💓💓
🇷🇸❤️🇫🇷
J'adore j'adore j'adore !! La meilleure qu'on ai envoyé à l'Eurovision depuis des années ! Vive les bretons et notre magnifique Bretagne ❤ 🇫🇷 🇫🇷 🇫🇷
This was the best France entry in 10 years
One of the most interesting songs this year! This smells like a top 5 televote.
And bottom 5 in the final :(
@@tom_4546 I disagree completely I can see it winning
@@dimitriskanteres2623 Yes in 2007 or 2006 would be perfect winner - Its not bad but Its typical ESC Ruslana sound song :) If Madame Monsieur came 13th, this will not going to finish higher…
@@tom_4546 I understand your point of view and Madame Monsieur was amazing it deserved higher. But Fulenn doesn't remind me of wild dances so much. Yes there are some similarities but there are big differences
No.
A very original song that goes beyond the usual framework of what France offers. Proud of my country and its rich and varied culture.
This is like tanxungeiras
@@loray786 but worst
@@loray786 has really nothing to do with that
@@loray786 so much better than Tanxugueiras!!! This song is good because of the mix of folk and electronic music, Tanxugueiras were missing the dance vibes...

12 points from Germany to France 🇩🇪🇨🇵
I join Kiki, 12 points from Germany :) you understand ESC, not like us
Kendiniz çalın kendiniz oynayın
Same here!
Omg this is the best song France has ever sent in many years, this is so different, authentic and is a perfect combination of ethnic and modern music. The language is so beautiful and unique and voices are mesmerizing. I hope Europe will vote for it!
i honestly didn’t even tink it french for a minute yet i did🤓
From Italy, good job France 👏🏻 i really like this one ✨
A good song and very stylishly made music. France well done
We saw this before on the Eurovision
It gives me the 2000 decade from The Eurovision
@paula ???
You can't compare this song to Barbara's one, they are too different (not same language, not same cultural heritage valorized, not same genres, etc.), and that is why you probably have a taste for Barabara's song but not this but not because one is better than the other. Plus your take on russianoid (? what does that even mean?) dance song is quite wtf but ok.
@paula a yyyyhyyhrdffhhdgdtyytYYYYYYTYTYYTYYYYYYYYYHTHYHHYJY
@paula a uuyyyyyuuu au plus une personne un ami uuyyyyyuuu je vais essayer
@@Doarri oké both different songs, but Barbara had some more quality
Never thought that the French entry will be my winner.
This is very unique and beautiful! 100% the best entry this year.

Fransa yaxşı ölkədir, bu breton dilində
Came to find out why France scored barely any points and was second to last place. Now I'm fully convinced something happened to make everyone deaf. THIS WAS SECOND TO LAST? Did we listen to the same song?!
My favorite song.
@@fabs8498 SAME It's in my top three I cannot fathom that scoring
People are crual. They should had at least 150 points from the public. In the OGAE poll they were the 6th with 175 points. I don’t understand how can they be so low on the scoreboard, and I feel really sad for them because now a lot of French people are harrassing them for their final placement. Poor guys 😔
People have no ears... I think the votes were fake votes.
It‘s so cool that France has a song in Breton this year! Great step towards protecting and showcasing vanishing parts of your culture. It‘s really great to see them embracing their Celtic heritage.
Its not celtic their celtic heritage... breton come from great britain. Its a reason why france refuse that.
@@bretagnejean2410 I‘m not sure what you mean, but Breton, Cornish and Welsh are Brittonic languages and cultures. They are one of two halves of celticism, the other half being Gaelic.
@@margs8631 i say it s not celtic heritage of france. Breton come from celtic great britain so france cant embracing that.
@@bretagnejean2410 France has all sorts of heritage and britainy is a region with celtic culture. Wherever they comes from is not the issue, the Jutes, Angles, the saxons and the Normans came from outside Great Britain, but England embrassed all thoses cultures like layers throughout history. France is the same it is also a celtic country, and many people in France see themselfs as decendants of Celts.

I don't get why this entry doesn't get more hype it's literally amazing!
It's literally Tanxugueiras but in a bad way.
@@Bonnie.Craft. worst actually …
It slaps just like Terra ✌️💀
@@Bonnie.Craft. Where lmao? You spaniard are so annoying with this seriously get over it. Tanxugueiras didn't invent this genre and the song was done way before tanxu got selected so stop.
@@Marie78173 i know, but it's a fact these French guys modeled their staging after watching Tanxugueiras. You can see it by yourself.
First time hearing Breton. I love the celtic vibe. The rhythm and the lyrics are amazing. One of my favorites this year. Good luck from 🇹🇷
Yes I hope to see more songs in ethnic languages like this in the future 😊
still absolutely heartbroken this song didn't do better. for once france sends a song thats not ur typical "french love eiffel tower ooh la la" and sends something that is complete opposite and still a part of french culture. will forever be disappointed with europe for not hyping up this celtic forest banger
FRANCE IS BRUTAL THIS YEAR. SHOWING ITS ETHNICITY, CULTURE AND BRETON LANGUAGE. THE SONG IS SPECTACULAR. THAT IS TOO GOOD FOR EUROVISION I THINK. I SEE FRANCE AGAIN AT THE TOP 10 THIS YEAR. SURELY ONE OF THE BEST FRENCH ENTRIES BESIDE VÒILA. GOOD LUCK FRANCE FROM CROATIA. 🇭🇷♥️♥️♥️♥️🇨🇵
this song is a prime example of why I love eurovision
I've already heard it 100 times and I think I can now sing in Breton! Now, seriously, when folk music is mixed with modern sounds, the results are amazing. Ukraine did it last yeast and now they're doing it again, along with France. Such fresh sounds, while singing in their languages and letting their cultures shine. I wish my country could do this instead of sending lifeless English ballads (no shade to our song, buuut it doesn't work for me). I will certainly vote for France this year. Much love from Greece! 🇫🇷❤️🇬🇷
Thank you so much for the support! And yes, it's a shame your beautiful language is not represented in your songs! I hope it's gonna be the case next year
Good luck and much from France! Us, frenchy all adore Greece 🇫🇷♥️🇬🇷
I am half Greek, half French, and I really wish Greece would send songs in Greek. 😔 It is such a beautiful language, WHY use English? Our entries do NOT represent Greece at all! But much love from France 🇨🇵❤️🇬🇷
@@dameanebulia thank you ❤️
I've been following Alvan's work for about 10 years now and I love the spirits of most of his songs which I usually find mesmerising or/and empowering. I hope his songs will finally get wider audience 🔥
I did not know him until the Eurovision! Definitively someone to follow
France has such a great culture. This is the first time I've ever heard something like this sent by them. 12 points from me.
In fact breton culture come from england before anglo saxon invasion. Practilly same language of cornish people actually. Far away they spoke common celtic language with gaelic.
France has become one of my favorite countries in Eurovision in the last few years. They never fail to deliver! Good luck, neighbors! 🇫🇷❤️🇩🇪
