Hold down the temp and fast cool buttons at the same time. This is not well documented but this will toggle the ice maker on and off.

Does Whirlpool have a sleep mode by default, it’s goes completely blank if we don’t touch it, but lights up when you press the button or dispense water. My old refrigerator always had the screen on.

Hi! I would like to look on the inside of the ice maker.
Your videos are very helpful. I have this fridge, have changed the water filter several times with no issues. Today I noticed water is leaking from the filter. I cleaned up all the water and opened the clam shell cover to check if the filter was tight and it is. I am not seeing any error lights on the control panel. The water dispenser is working. Do you have any ideas/suggestions on why water is leaking? Thank you in advance.
maybe try shutting off the water and remove the filter and reinstall it again.
I just bought a side by side Whirlpool fridge with these controls. The manual didn't even mention them. We finally figured out that we had to push the "fast ice" feature to get a normal amount of ice from the ice marker. I saw online that this feature turns itself off after 24 hours. Is there a way to leave it on, in case, you know, more than 2 people live in your house and you live in Arizona, like I do? Also, does the lock feature just lock out all of the controls from being pushed by little kids, I'm hoping? Thanks for the video.
It's probably turns off given it uses more power. Yes, the lock feature is to prevent kids from pushing the buttons. I don't have the side by side model so I can't say about the "fast ice" feature.
I was hoping you would explain the error codes. There is an error code and noise on the panel above the light button but the 'icon' doesn't make sense. We have no idea what it is trying to tell us.
Visually, this appears to be my French door Model. A year ago, I had to replace the supply line going into the roof of the refrigerator suppling water (gravity feed) to the ice cube maker as the rubber grommet had dry rot and caused the try to freeze up. About 3 months ago I noticed the water stopped filling the tray. The valve was replaced behind the filter (supply to ice cube maker) which did not resolve the issue (recommended as the highest probability when water works in the door). The best I can tell, the control board is the next thing to replace. (this refrigerator has been through two different power surges from lightning strikes that blew up two different TVs in two different houses, yet worked okay for 1 year from the last lightning strike) Is the control board my best next step? Can I trust an "open box" from ebay?
If you can return the ebay item if it's DOA then go for it. I would only stick with OEM parts given some knockoffs doesn't last long at all.
Just out of warranty and flat lined. Cleaned coils and replaced water filter since control panel did not throw error codes. Problem remained. NEW CONTROL PANEL. $340 installed by tech.

I have the same one but mine has a produce drawer right above the freezer below. I REALLY need your help. Since yesterday, the control panel has been blinking "cooling down" and it has NOT been cooling down. In fact, my fridge is warm and my ice keeps draining. How can I fix this???
Sounds like an issue with the fridge. Probably need an appliance technican to look at it.

It should automatically make ice if there’s water. It may need to turned on to make ice.
Same model as that which I found to be making ice too fast and plenty how to lessen the ice from making

@@juanluvshisgirl to make the fridge colder turn the setting to a higher number. If this unit doesn't even tell you on the knob which direction to turn to get it colder then even if I know how it sounds like whirlpool is a poorly run business and I might not be getting one.

Also the water is working so the line has to be fine (I assume)
Did you check the ice maker is turned on? If it's on, look if anything is stuck on the ice maker tray inside.

A red light just came on on the front panel it says H20 and has a red half circle over it….can it be the filter?

Check for bent in the water line. Check if the water faucet is turned on near the wall.
The panel indicates that the door is open. I had opened it to clean it, but closed it and it shows that the door is still open, I followed what the Manuel said. I unplugged it just in case it was an error. Still appears and the doors are firmly closed. Please help, thank you!
Sounds like the switch for the door open is now working. See if you can find that switch on the side and press it a few times.

Measure water for a pitcher or show how much water dispensed? There's no indicator on water dispensed.

Supposly whirlpool should have the part if it’s not a super old fridge. Maybe you can check with an appliance company.

Check if the water is coming out. If not, check the water line. If yes, check if the ice maker is on.

Is the screen locked? Can you change the temperature?
@@netman88 -I figured it out seems I have to lock the screen then unlock and it works. But if I just press the temp screen without doing so it doesn't display set temp.
My refrigerator keeps freezing everything. It’s set to 38°, which is the recommended temp.

What's the humidity control at? Is that low or high? Outside the compartment is ok? Don't want to raise too much higher, don't want other items to spoil.

@@niazafrouzi1958 the temperature depends how cold or warm your location to be set at. In your case, just increase the number to see if everything doesn’t freeze up. 38F is the temperature in the video

Are you getting water through the dispenser? If not, check the water line for kinks or damage.
@netman88 I'm getting water from the line, and there is no error code for the ice maker. I've pounded on the ice bucket, but I'm afraid I will break it. I will have to call Whirlpool service to fix. Thanks for your help. Really appreciate it.

the control panel on this pos leaves a lot to be desired....mine is 18 months old and now the panel does not work at all, and I lost everything in my freezer.....this is why I do not like any control panel that is digital.....mechanical is way better.....it can usually be fixed....digital control panel now has to be replaced...pos!
