🥚 How I accidently killed 2 fish
I’ve been keeping guppies for over a decade and they are one of the easiest fish to care for! Deaths are pretty rare, but I recently started noticing baby fish dying in my tank which is weird because there really should be a 100% survival rate since they’re living in luxury.
Of course, there’s going to be some fish that die simply due to natural causes, but I noticed something different about these dead babies. Their bellies were bursted and after looking closer I realized it was due to them ingesting the shells of the BBS I have been feeding them. I never had this problem before but it needs to be solved so I made a new brine shrimp net with new net sizes and this new tool strains out the BBS much better than my last one ☻

You should make it multi stages so that it catches a ton even if you loose some it's better then risking killing them! Plus with multiple stages you could better remove all problematic parts!

I would've just been puzzled at why my fish are dying. Them "choking" on the eggs would have been way too minuscule for me to see/notice.

Tbh, I’m not surprised she’s finding these. I have fish and if I notice a death, I might literally dissect it just to make sure it’s not contagious. Gross, but one death in fish might mean you need to toss your entire tank if you let it get worse, and that can mean 1,000$+ down the drain depending on how large your tank is.

When I had accidental guppy fry, I raised them on egg yolks, algae wafers, and crushed flakes. Most of them lived, so I consider it a success.
If you buy Sucker fish they can clean up your tank trust me

I found a channel on RUclips that claims to be a "fish expert" who was telling his followers to feed BBS EGGS (not hatched BBS) straight out of the packet, to their fry and adult fish. 🤦♀️ He insisted it was excellent nutritional food for fry. Fortunately, some commenters took him to task about his very grave error. This video is a great example of what eggs and shells can do to fry.
Crazy, when people tell themselves they are experts ion things they clearly aren't and spread bad info.

It's so nice to see you post! I have a nice line of guppies that I'm breeding and I have deaths and now I know why! The brine shrimp eggs make more sense then my conclusion of them having fish TB! This would be a awesome thing to sell I would definitely buy it if it looks to work. Probably better then the two stage net from Amazon that I use. Hope your store is going well!!!

I want a fish but I know I can’t care for it I often forget to feed myself because I get too into something and I won’t let a innocent fish suffer from my forgetfulness
That's exactly why I don't keep pets and plants anymore. They deserve 100% more care and attention that you can give yourself.

My 19 fish/guppies died from my Koi . Every day I counted my fish and 2 disappeared then more and more did and I never found a skeleton or anything then if found a spine of my guppy in the koi’s mouth so then I fed it to my turtle 🐢

What are healthy and not healthy foods for the guppies? Whats their least favorite thing to eat aswell?
I use another method. Brine shrimp eggs float but brine shrimp swim. They are attracted to light. So I turn off all lights in room and shine a small light at the side of tank. Shrimp gather there and I use a turkey baster to suck them all up.
Will you be sellling a brine shrimp catcher? It would be really handy 😅
The eggs are magnetic. You can use a magnet to get the eggs out.
