      About that potato dish, they washed out most of starch of potatoes then fried it, that's why it's so crunchy 😂 It's a famous local dish. And normally we order fried dishes and steamed rice together, so it can balance the salty taste. And for $68 dish, it should be that size tho😂 take away box usually free as well.

    Okay, FYI, before going to China, the to-do list is as follows: 1) set up your VPN, eSIM, and Alipay. 2) An offline translator in case your Google translator doesn't have a connection. Plan B for 2) Learn Mandarin; one sentence is a must: "Where is the restroom?" trust me, sign language would not work for this question. I knew a woman who tried and failed; people thought she was losing her mind.

    There are 56 ethnic groups in China, and each has its own traditional food. Among them, the Han people generally divide their food into eight major cuisines, each of which has a different flavor and ingredient combination, Sichuan and Hunan cuisine are mainly spicy, the other eight cuisines are not spicy, even southern Jiangsu and Shanghai people like to eat sweet. Your order is Xinjiang food and Sichuan food, more spicy, in addition, can not finish the boss free packing away.😂

      It is not so easy as a tourist because every app they would normally use to find their way is banned in China. If foreigners don't have a VPN it is very difficult. They usually can't even get their email.
      Anything to do with the Internet in China is a nightmare as a foreigner.

    • @96518
      @96518 3 месяца назад

      @@aiwogod4799 Most people still carry at least a bit of cash with them because the technology does occasionally fail. My partner keeps a hundred yuan note inside her phone case for such eventualities.
      Once when I went into a McDonalds the Internet had gone down and they were only accepting cash. There were people milling around everywhere wondering what to do.
      It was no problem for me though. I always carry cash with me and because I am a foreigner carry about a thousand yuan in cash with me at all times.
      People claim all this stuff is really convenient but its not really true. Most houses and cars and e-bikes require keys so most people can't go out without them. It is the same with a wallet. A lot of things require ID in China so you have to carry that everywhere, then there is stuff like bank cards, cards to get into the community, etc.
      The cashless stuff is really overrated. You have to get our your phone, type in your password, open the right app, go to the dropdown in WeChat to get scanned, or scan the store, then you have to type in the password for the payment and wait until its processed. If you have a VPN on sometimes the transaction is blocked, then you have to go to the VPN turn it off, go back into WeChat and repeat. Pulling out your wallet and slipping a couple of notes out just isn't that hard. Of course, being cashless also means that you can be profiled based on your transactions, if you care about that stuff.

      @SLAVAUKRAINI-cb5vt Don't be deceived by media distortions. The Chinese were filming a television program that had not yet been broadcast publicly, and the piano player insisted on filming and broadcasting the undisclosed content of the program against the advice of kindness and patience. He also deliberately pretended not to understand the English spoken by these Chinese and deliberately pretended to be assaulted. The piano player is as shameful as the media who deliberately smear China!

    good job getting a payment app up and running. once you done that, everything else is easy. there's actually translate apps built into those. when you scan the qr code at restaurant tables, the menu loads up and for the payment app you installed, there's a translate option. in most cases, portions in china are pretty big so for 2 people, 2 dishes with some rice on the side should be enough. if you still hungry, plenty of street food snacks to try out lol.
    google pulled out of china about 15 years ago because it didn't want to put any filters on its products. certain content is banned in china such as adult and violent content, among other things. that's why all of google's subsidiaries don't work in china. apple and microsoft(bing you mentioned) decided to abide by china's laws so you can use their stuff without the need of a vpn.
