Just from experience using PIR sensors ( like the ones in Eufy cameras ). With all PIR sensors the detection areas is shown by 'rays' ( lines ) coming out at an angle ( if I recall the detection angle is 90 degrees), anything approaching that is 'cutting across the rays ' ( walking across the camera lens ) will be detected much better than something approaching straight toward the camera ( parallel to the rays ). You can either remount the camera so that people walk at an angle to it, or get some cheap 'stand alone' Eufy PIR sensors with 2 year replaceable battery at an angle to the camera ( they need a cover over the top for rain ) that can link to any one or all the devices linked to homebase to trigger recording. Obviously PIR also works better in colder ambient temperature. The separate sensor also give the camera 'advanced warning' so camera starts recording earlier... Basically the more 'lines' the person cuts through when approaching the camera the more likely they are to trigger recording.
You articulate the information that most users would find extremely helpful on the Eufy systems. I just purchased a home base -3 and your video is just the intel I was looking for. Thank You
Just bought the Home Base 3. I have the Floodlight Pro, it is supposed to be compatible with the Home Base in mid-July. If so, I will be buying these cameras as well. The floodlight cam is AMAZING.
The only fault I see in this is not being able to stream and record 24/7 when you have a camera powered by USB. It would be nice if they had POE versions of the cameras as well. I'm biased and will try to run POE whenever I can. Perhaps those willing to run CAT6 to have POE on a residential install is a niche market, but with POE they could also expand into the commercial market.
Eufy stuff that uses homebase means that one camera can trigger others to record, and cheap Eufy stand alone sensors with 2 year replaceable battery can be mounted anywhere and used to trigger any combination of cameras to record.. The Eufy system has its own wireless system between devices and homebase, video is kept locally in the homebase and will continue to record even if wifi goes out. The homebase can also be fitted with battery in the base to support recording even if the power goes off the building. Have been using homebase 2 and cameras from 2 gen for years now, and they are great, but not ready to upgrade to gen 3 yet.
One thing I know is a spotlight or siren usually does not deter a drug affected intruder, had this happen where I live. And 99% of the time intruders are drug affected, bold as brass and know how to move fast enough to avoid being seen by the best home security cameras. Nearly always wearing a face mask as well. Once Police see there's no clear evidence of who stolen whatever the case gets dropped very fast, even faster if they suspect the offenders are young.
A big downfall, that no body mentions about this system is: the cameras will only connect to the Homebase. I was told, by Eufy, that they will not connect through the homes WiFi. Any cameras placed remotely (Like a remote garage or shed) will not work because they are out of range of the Homebase. Big issue that Eufy needs to address.
I suppose no one talks about it because the cameras come with the home base. It is implied that it is needed to work with the cameras. However, the Homebase can be set to work over wifi to give you a little more flexibility of placement of the cameras.
Thank you for the in-depth review! As a professional security consultant for commercial and custom homes. I will tell you here in is the issue currently. Eufy should come up with a extender for their cam to and home base distance problems. If you're using Wi-Fi that will subject you to jamming which is very prevalent right now. To shut down all these DIY systems before breaking. In. The one question I have is does the camera itself have internal storage?
I was searching for a better cctv outdoor camera for my front and back area of my house and I stumbled upon on your video and voila I purchased the eufycam 4 kit CCTV camera bundle. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE FULL DETAILED VIDEO! 2 thumbs up!!!
Can I ask how much you paid and what country you are inb...lastly did you have any issues with the WiFi signal having to go through walls internally and externally? TYIA
@@brianlentz2080 Im from California and I bought it off Amazon. I paid roughly $800 it consists of 4 solar eufy cam and 1 homebase 3 modem. At first I put the homebase 3 modem at the first floor in the middle of my house but the front side camera only gets wifi and the backyard cameras weren't accessing any wifi. So, what I did I put my homebase 3 modem in the 2nd floor of my house which has only 1 wall from front view and back view of the house. Then, now the backyard camera are working fine as well as the front view camera. If you don't have a 2nd floor you can put the homebase near the ceiling of your house so the wifi can access front view or back view
I liked them, but had to return them. The book reads, needs 2 hours of direct sunlight. There was nowhere I could put them, that was high enough to deter theft. The BIG problem with these, is the mount. The cameras are very heavy. They tended to slowly fall down. I had to use some large channel locks to tighten them. The mount is made of plastic. Only a matter of time before the collar would strip or crack. Metal mount would be an improvement.
There was a setting that was on by default with this camera that to send you the notification with a thumbnail it would have to be sent to eufy servers in order to generate the image for the notification. eufy has turned this option off by default now to keep everything local. If you want the thumbnail you need to now turn it on.
Since the camera firmware update on the 31/12/22 my camera have not given accurate charge information. One of the cameras has not charged properly since, shows large variations in charge on a daily basis. Eufy are aware and have done nothing to fix it in 4 months.
This is amazing. I’m in the process of building a new construction home and they want $375 per CAT6 drop! Problem solved! Thanks for the in-depth review. 🙏
Still get the cat drops. With CAT6 drops you can have 24/7 recording and use it for Wireless Access Points, hardeired to smart TVs, docking stations, and whatever you want to expand too. Overall I'm looking at this as a tradeoff. I have a property where I don't want to run Cat6 drops so I'm considering the Eufy. In my primary, Ive run over a dozen CAT6 drops... So I want to hardwire everything with POE cameras.
@@ironqqq I am still going to have Cat6 runs for inside of the house, but the orientation of my house gets plenty of sunshine so this system is a good solution for me.
@@ironqqq There always is going to be a trade off when using a wired option vs. something like this. It is all a mater of finding what works best for you.
Excellent and thorough video. Than you. Bought my system in the last 6 months. I don't have the ability to turn off the spotlight that I can find. Suggestions welcome. On my screen for spotlight, there is no "light" button, just low, medium or high settings.
@@Wanderer001_ReviewsSo I have two different security systems and I was watching the Eufy cameras with my other system and I had selected the night vision mode but I kept seeing lights, LOL, because the other system picked up the IR lights. After playing with a short while after posting the question, I figured it out. Thank you, that indeed does work.
@@FurFeathersandFlowers I have done things like that before when testing. Forget to turn off one of my other cameras, well guess I have to re fill this another night :).
Had one of these! After a lot of messing about and talking to Eufy support I had to send it back. My experience led me to believe that there are a couple of major design flaws with this unit. 1: The reason I had to return it is that try as I might I could not get this to pick up me in a timely fashion walking from the pavement onto my property via the drive or the path. Because only the bottom part of the viewing area is sensitive to detection. Eufy told me this themselves! In order to resolve this issue their support people told me to lower the camera and raise the angle of it. Doing this would have meant it would have been reachable by practically anyone! 2: Footage is recorded in packets and only when a packet is complete does it get uploaded onto the hub. This means someone could run onto your property, grab the camera and run off again BEFORE any footage was uploaded to the hub. And in my case they could walk up to my car, smash the wind screen and walk off without being recorded! They could also walk to my front door and return to the road, again without being picked up! So security cameras have 1 job. And this Eufy system fails at it!
@@SevenDaysToNoon Battery systsms rely on PIR sensors which can only detect in a small area. Wired cameras use pixle based detection which looks for differnances between frames to trigger recordings.
I like your review much better than another channel I sub to. More detail, visual is good, that being said I have all eufy product's and I am very pleased.
Thank you, I know the lengeth of my videos puts off most people how are just looking for a quick list of "facts". Good to know I am not the only one who finds eufy product's to be good. I started off with Wyze, and have been looking for a replacement for them. eufy was one of the better ones I found.
I don't think that the length is why people are ""put off "" myself I like channels that don't have a lot of subscribers. I can get picky especially about electronics since I spent many hours in a brick and mortar electronics store as a customer and employee. Your videos are good . Keep them rolling out.
Great explanation of all the features of the eufy Security System. Just bought this system today, and it arrived today! Got the 3 cam system and video doorbell. Can't wait to get it all set up and running.
Just now picked up the S330 dual camera doorbell, With the 330 Base station bundle price $215. Off of Amazon, Must have been a flash sale cause I couldn't even find it anymore after I ordered it that is a killer deal, Compared to the regular high prices, Gonna have to keep checking for the flash bundle sales to complete my system
these cams connect with base station using military encryption but how resistant are these cams against wifi jamming equipment / blocker you can easily get off aliexpress website since these cams use 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi standard, it would be good to see such an execrise, that would tell us loads whether to stick to these so hyped stuff nowadays or stick to hard wired 24/7 cams
@@leosoundtrack thats the problem indeed, i would like to have cool / awesome looking system, i think design is just beautiful here but security wise i have many doubts, which make me think why would i decide to put that thing round my house to protect my belongings. The even more silly thing is to mount wifi camera above your door and back it up with hard wired camera in some distance in front of your house so you can record the thief face when is running away from your house with a parcel. This is just not serious approach. Thats why i am waiting to see reolink poe cams and poe doorbell in comparison to all these wifi stuff
Hello. I have had my cameras running for 3 days now continuously on motion detection . I have had a few people that are unfamiliar come into my house several times and my cameras aren’t listing any unfamiliar faces . It’s picking up family fine but not unfamiliar faces ? Any help
Very thorough, but a bit sales-pitchy. "Not an SD card" (which is solid state, so superior in one sense), "not a flash drive" (which again is like the SD card, tho not removable), but a (spinning) "hard drive" . That's right folks, in 2022/3 - a hard drive. Thankfully, we can replace it with an SSD, as he said, and throw that PO's HD in the bin. But that's its got an "included HD" is not a plus. The plus is that it's replacable. As for all of the "free" software features, it's not free; the customer pays for it. That's like saying the tire comes with free rubber. Super thorough video, as I said, and that's what matters.
This camera setup and HD were provided by eufy. I replaced the HD with an SSD after the review. At this point unless you are running a home server there should be no reason not to use an SSD, unless you are trying to save a little money.
Thanks for the review! Two questions does the base work with new indoor and outdoor if i wanted to buy two indoor camera's without solar? Also where and what kind can we purchase a hard drive from? Thanks for your help!
The new base station will in time work with more cameras from eufy, however, right now there is no time table as to when that will happen. The hard drive just needs to be a 2.5 "sized" hard drive. It can be either a solid state drive or classic spinning disk hard drive. Best place would be Best Buy, or Amazon.
Very comprehensive but the ultra fast rapid fire changes between functions are very hard to keep up with. I found I had to repeatedly stop and go back to find the changing functions and indicators. My head is spinning trying to keep up with the speed of delivery.
I get that. It is my own doing I pretty much watch everything at 1.75 speed on youtube. Even my own things feel slow when I watch them back. But I do understand that it is not slow for everyone.
Thank you - I want to order the 4 cam kit Cam 3 - but no where does it say its the S330? Are they the same - it all looks the same. Also can I add on the door cam?
if you dont need continues record and don't want to deal with hard wiring then this product is perfect for you. my cam isn't even in direct sunlight and it's been more than a week. i still haven't the need to charge it yet. just dont use optimize recording :D
Good review, my only question is what is the response time from standby to record, I had a Swann system which was useless as it was so slow to respond that the person was out of shot by the time it started to record making it useless for monitoring theft of packages from the entry to the house.
@@Wanderer001_Reviewsthanks, yeah that seems too long to me as even 3 seconds is going to be long enough for a thief to be in and out without any evidence. Maybe hard wired is my only answer.
@@shagradauyo hard wired with Event Notifications. I just don't understand why all cameras don't record all of the time and then just strip out the pieces which don't have motion detection. So, record all of the time, then delete the recording if there is no motion detection in order to save space. Allow the user to adjust how much before and after is to be kept either side of the motion detection. It's just so obvious that this is what we should be doing. And if you want to have 10 or 20 cameras and there is a concern about how much load that would put on the processor of the box then you could have a local cache on the cameras. And they write to the base device in a queue. Just like an operating system writing to the disk. Nothing new. Long established way of doing things.
bluetooth like with my drone that you dont have to connect to internet and a router but can do it with cellular to get the app to use the cameras especially when you are out in the middle of no where in the desert for the winter and only have cellular on the summer property and winter properties
Great review of Eufy's new technologies. Thank you! QQ - Do you know if camera's can record to HB3 if the internet connection goes out? I have a location where I would like to install this system, however, the internet connection is prone to outages.
Maybe more info is needed. Do you mean that the WiFi router is still working, it's just that the internet connectivity isn't? This could be because you are using a 4G SIM as your router is connectivity and sometimes your 4G can't get signal? Or you live in an area with terrible telephone lines that can get disabled by rain etc? So long as you have your Wi-Fi router connecting all of the devices together, I'm guessing you're asking if it can still record onto the UV base home station? I would expect so and be disappointed if it doesn't.
Eufy cameras will still record and store footage even if internet service at that time isn't working. You will not be able to access live feed or the footage until your internet connection is restored.
Question: is there a way to trigger all of the alarm 🚨 from all the cameras when you hit the alarm icon. Or, does it do it automatically. Like a panic button to set off all of the cameras at once. Thanks 🙏 really appreciated
Yes you can set up an automation so that when 1 camera detects motion then it will trigger another camera to alarm aswel,.you just have to play about with the settings
Very comprehensive. Does the system utilize the router's wifi coverage area (e.g. mesh) or is it limited to the coverage of the home base which, I read, is pretty limited.
It is limited by the home base range. My hope is that in the future just like eufy did for the Home Base 2 you will be able to connect the Home Base 3 via wifi and that can help with the placement of it and give better range to the cameras.
I'm pretty impressed by this set. Would be perfect for my home, except that my two cameras would be 90 feet apart so I don't think they could reach the home base. Both locations have WiFi coverage so I hope they'll enable the cameras to use Wifi as a backbone.
There has been a update so the homebase can work off wifi now so it does not need to be hardwired anymore. might help you get better placement between the two cameras.
I just ordered one that comes with 4 cameras, however, one of the places I wan to put the camera has about 10% wifi signal strength. What I did, though, was to order a wifi extender the same time. When I get it I will see how well that works. I can't wait.
@@andrec.136 from what I've read only the homebase itself is connected to the internet through WiFi. The cameras are connected directly to the homebase via a proprietary wireless network (not WiFi) to save battery on the cameras. This means you can't use Wifi extenders to bridge the gap. Eufy had plans to make a range extended for their cameras but hasn't made one yet. If you can place the homebase in the most central location that might help.
@@Yggdrasil42 That's good news, if that's the case. Because 2.4 gigahertz even though better than 5 gigahertz for penetration, I am hoping now that the communication between the cameras and the base utilizes an even lower frequency.
I am a long time user of Arlo cameras seeking to upgrade. Your review was very informative and comprehensive. I only have one issue that I am concerned with. What abilities do you have to access the camera footage from? Yes I have a smartphone, but I don't want to pull it out all the time. Does the Eufy system have a web portal or a computer app available? Also, do you have any idea on when the system will be HomeKit approved?
I can answer part of this. Yes there is a web portal you can view your cameras from: support.eufy.com/s/article/How-to-View-eufySecurity-Cameras-on-a-Computer. As for HomeKit I am not sure. eufy does not tell me anything extra when they ask for a review.
Great video, thanks for the info. ONE THING I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW....Can't find this info anywhere...After setting up the Homebase, does it need to be connected to the router at all times? or can you move it somewhere else and access it through wifi??
Looks like eufy recommends no more then 10 devices to a single Homebase: support.eufy.com/s/article/What-is-the-maximum-number-of-devices-that-can-be-added-to-the-eufy-Security-app
Nice review. Questions - via an App or web browser can I view recordings while at home or even away from home? And which base station do I need. I currently have an Arlo system and without paying for a subscription I can do the above, but those wifi cameras have a end of life this July, so will soon have to decide on if to continue with a Arlo system and most likely have to pay for a subscription or consider a Eufy or Blink. Thx in advance.
In order asked, yes you can view recording from the app or web while not at home. As long as you have power at your house and your network is still up and running. This does need a base station, eufy calls it the home base. In this case it needs the version 3. Which if you use my link it is for the bundle of 2 cameras and the home base 3. As demonstrated in this video all of this was done without a subscription to eufy. They do offer one if you want to have cloud storage of your video but it is not needed to use the system.
Is there a Eufy doorbell that is sold standalone? I’ve only seen the solar cameras that are sold with a HomeBase and the wireless Doorbell with homebase. No point in having 2 home bases. Is there a bundle or package that has both?
If you go through the offical eufy site they have "options" when you lick on a device. One of the options generally will not have the home base.: share.eufylife.com/v1/shopping/s/g/7Q_ItvFJt
all camara are good like eufycam solo indoorcam c24 with spotlight or eufycam pan tilt indoorcam but it is a pity that eufy only works with 2.4ghz network
I hear you but I know why compains do it. 2.4ghz gives you longer range with pretty good speeds. 5ghz has faster speeds but shorter range and has difficulties going through some types of walls.
CRIMINAL RECOGNITION - If my place gets robbed and Eufy know the criminal from their database, will they tell me or the cops? Will other Eufy's be able to tell the cops the movements (time, date and location) of where the perpetrator went? If a few people in my area get Eufy's can we share and combine data? Because we have had to drive around before to locate a thief and it took an hour or two. We had their vehicle from a camera, but we had to travel to find the home it was parked at. Then we could tell the cops the vehicle location and provide print outs of the criminal's faces. Made it so much easier for the cops and reduced theft in our area. Because word gets around.
There is no such thing as criminal recognition service with eufy cameras. This is all done on your own device. You could if you wanted share your devices with the people around you as long as they have a eufy account. This is done more for a privacy thing, unlike blink which can be shared with others more easily.
I need to install my camera under an overhang. Does it have to have sunlight directly hitting the solar panel or as long as it’s sunny outside will it still charge? If it doesn’t charge and I use the usb cable to charge it, how long will that charge last if no sun? Thank you
Sun needs to hit the panel itself to charge it fully. If it is just bright out might be able to add a little to the batter but not enough to keep it going. If no sun then it depends on amount of triggers as to how long it will last. I have had anywhere between 1.5 months and 3 depending on what this happing in my yard.
Yes, eufy has been working on making other cameras work with the home base 3: support.eufy.com/s/article/Centralize-Your-Security-Ecosystem-with-HomeBase-3
Not sure what you mean by that. Like one the records all the time? Battery powered ones don't do that as they battery would never last even with solar.
Can you recommend a hard drive? Brand? HDD? SSD? I live across from a school, lots of events as far as traffic is concerned. We are an active family, there is always something going on out front of my house. I have a couple of original eufy 365 cameras that I have powered all the time because I would only get 3 mos max out of the batteries. So I will likely need a larger hard drive, closer to the 16TB range. I am gonna try a solar powered camera on a telephone pole in front of my house aimed back at my house, fingers crossed the southern exposure it will have will keep it charged. Also, I cannot find where to buy you a cup of coffee, is it a button to press/click?
Hi. How long will the 16gb memory last for ? Also what happens when its full does it just start overwritten? Also if an intruder steals the home base box does that mean all the footage is gone or will you still see the recent footage on app ? Thanks
It depends on the amount of triggers you get. When I was testing the two cameras and a doorbell I got about a week, maybe a little more during the holidays. Old footage will be recorded over. If the homebase is taken the footage goes with it. That is the trade off with local storage.
Great review, thanks! However I’m wondering if the cameras human detection work at night so it only triggers an alert if it detects a human? Also, can you combine geofencing with schedule so that when you come home you tell the cameras to activate only during nighttime and when I leave it activates the cameras?
The 2-3m is the recommended hight. This is because the camera uses a PIR sensor to trigger the camera. This is a heat based motion detection system. If the camera is too high it will not work.
That was a wonderful review! Please help! How many Homebase 3 can be connected simultaneously? Do they connect to each other wirelessly, or should all of them be connected to the same router with ethernet? I mean, will every homebase function as an extender? I am wondering if there is wifi signal sufficiency for 4 cameras and a doorbell, if they are placed around a BIG single layer house. Thanks
When you say big what do you consider the square footage of the house? Generally you have one home base per home. I myself have six different eufy devices attached to my home base. However there is nothing saying that you can't run multiple home base in your house if you're worried about devices not being able to connect to it because of distance. In a case like that after you set up the home base you can turn it to Wi-Fi mode so that you can place it closer to cameras that are farther away.
@Wanderer001_Reviews Thank you for your fast response and helpful answer. You get my point. 300 square meters, brick and stone made. Cameras will be on the edges. In europe there is only the package with the 2 cameras and the homebase on sale. If I need 4 cameras, it is cheaper to buy 2 times the whole package. The dual camera doorbell is sold with the homebase 2 as well. Not alone. Poor sale service.
The S330 has it: ruclips.net/video/CNsauS6UQW0/видео.html. But that is do in part to the Bionic mind AI of the home base 3. Which will eventually work with other eufy cameras that connect to a home base.
Bro i got a question i just purchase this camera set great video quality but why it doesnt record during the night time only on the day it records perfectly?
Well, recording quality, you unfortunately CANNOT record in 4K as soon as you have cloud plan activated. It does not matter that you want your 4K camera to skip cloud and record to homebase, only 1080p is allowed. And this is seriously ridiculous step by Eufy!
Hi, it's me again. I understood before that the cameras communicated with the home base by a proprietary protocol, not needing wifi or internet. Is this correct? I await your review of the s340. Good day ...
Yes and no. The cameras themselves communicate with the home base. However, the Home Base needs wifi or a hard line internet connection in order for the system to work. S340 review should be only a few weeks away. Wrapping up the editing now.
It holds up pretty well I've had this actually just about a year now so I've had it through rain snow and ice. Rain doesn't affect it at all. Snow you might need to brush off the snow to use the solar panel but it works fine. Ice can get around the lens and work the view a little bit depending on your angle. But generally it's fairly thin and some sun will take care of it.
I live in ireland and needed to get a replacement mount and couldn't locate one here, i could in American but they dont post to ireland likewise Germany.... any ideas
The mount for this uses the same thread size as many other companies. If you can get one of them shipped to you then you could use if with the eufy camera.
Question, do you need the internet to work? I would like to use these remotely. i know i will need a router with wifi for connecting the phone to the base
When you first set it up you will. But after that you can change the setting so that it works over wifi and you can place the home base where you like it.
It will only record events, you can not go back to view a 24/7 recording. If you want something like that you need to have a camera that runs on power.
Hi , I just bought this , but in the app i dont see any unfamiliar face detected, even if i have many new people in the videos detected only as a human but not face recognition, only those faces that i uploaded pictures of friends . But zero unfamiliar faces, why ? Do others have this issue ? thx
If you are using the camera to id new faces it has to get a good picture of them first before it will show them as something you can tag as something other then unknow face. It took me about a week before I got a good shot of my mail man so that I could add him.
Nice review. Is this Eufy system compatible with the 5G Verizon Cube? That is what I am using at home and I was unable to connect my Arlo to the Cube. I presumed it was because it needed a 2.5GHz Wi-Fi.
It might be able to work as the home base 3 would be hard wired to the cube and the cameras talk to the home base. I have not had the chance to test out something like the Verizon 5G Cube but based on what I see it should work. Worse case Amazon has a great return policy.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews thank you SOOO much for the reply. As an FYI for you, I called Verizon Customer Service, they said it does support 2.4 BUT they have to “turn it on”. Perhaps those willing to run CAT6 to have POE on a residential install is a niche market, but with POE they could also expand into the commercial market.
What Camera do you recommend?
@@sneescampers this camera has a USB C receptacle. You can power it 24/7 if you plug in into a USB. I can run a USB-C to it.
Agree! No backup battery is a no go.
2A > Eufy
@@RickyTy1 This particular camera does not have internal storage on the camera. However, eufy does have other cameras that do.
I have 2 cameras and they connect to my WiFi, I view them in the app

I was searching for a better cctv outdoor camera for my front and back area of my house and I stumbled upon on your video and voila I purchased the eufycam 4 kit CCTV camera bundle. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE FULL DETAILED VIDEO! 2 thumbs up!!!
Glade to hear I was able to help you out.
Can I ask how much you paid and what country you are inb...lastly did you have any issues with the WiFi signal having to go through walls internally and externally? TYIA
@@brianlentz2080 The 2 camera kit that I have is $550 USD. I am located in USA. I have not had any real issues with walls or wifi.
For me I ha e the home base centered in my home so it can reach as far as possible to the front of my home as well as my back yard.
Yes they did save some money on the mounting option. I can say that even with less then 2hrs or sun I have been ok in keeping the cameras running.
I heard that the company are saving the clips without permission. Despite their claims not to do so. It was on another RUclips review
Eufycam 3 with integrated panel are not that good .

This is amazing. I’m in the process of building a new construction home and they want $375 per CAT6 drop! Problem solved! Thanks for the in-depth review. 🙏
Happy I was able to help.
@@ironqqq
I am still going to have Cat6 runs for inside of the house, but the orientation of my house gets plenty of sunshine so this system is a good solution for me.
This can be done with the night vision mode selection. 20:37. If you select either IR mode or not at all then the LED lights will not trigger.
@@Wanderer001_ReviewsSo I have two different security systems and I was watching the Eufy cameras with my other system and I had selected the night vision mode but I kept seeing lights, LOL, because the other system picked up the IR lights.
Sounds like you are looking for a wired system which would not have these particular limitations.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Are you saying that battery systems have the same issue where only part of the frame in view is monitored by motion detection? 😳
@@SevenDaysToNoon Battery systsms rely on PIR sensors which can only detect in a small area. Wired cameras use pixle based detection which looks for differnances between frames to trigger recordings.

Great explanation of all the features of the eufy Security System. Just bought this system today, and it arrived today! Got the 3 cam system and video doorbell. Can't wait to get it all set up and running.

these cams connect with base station using military encryption but how resistant are these cams against wifi jamming equipment / blocker you can easily get off aliexpress website since these cams use 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi standard, it would be good to see such an execrise, that would tell us loads whether to stick to these so hyped stuff nowadays or stick to hard wired 24/7 cams

Did they fix the issue where anyone can walk up to a camera and press the "sync" button to wipe all footage of the said camera saved on HB3?
This is a function that all eufy cameras have. It has not been changed.
Hello. I have had my cameras running for 3 days now continuously on motion detection . I have had a few people that are unfamiliar come into my house several times and my cameras aren’t listing any unfamiliar faces . It’s picking up family fine but not unfamiliar faces ? Any help
Do you have any of the ignor options on? Also, the people that have come into your home is the camera getting a view of their face?
Is the zoom optical? Doesn’t look clear at all when zoomed in to 8x
Zoom is clear, not sure if it is optical, I'm thinking not but works really well.
Hi, does the Homebase have to be connected to the home Internet router by cable (rj45) or can it be connected by WiFi?
For the setup it does, but after that it can be changed to work via WiFi.

Hi ,
Nice review ! . Question - Do i leave the charging setting on battery or Solar panel so it charges my s330 cameras during the day ?
Change it to Solar panel if you are planning on letting it charge itself using the sun.
if you dont need continues record and don't want to deal with hard wiring then this product is perfect for you. my cam isn't even in direct sunlight and it's been more than a week. i still haven't the need to charge it yet. just dont use optimize recording :D

I also wonder if the Eufy 2C series of cameras will work with Home Base 3 and all the edge ai features? Suppose I need to contact Eufy for that.
Eventually I am sure they will make everything eufy has compatible with the Home Base 3. But it is going to take some time.

Good review, my only question is what is the response time from standby to record, I had a Swann system which was useless as it was so slow to respond that the person was out of shot by the time it started to record making it useless for monitoring theft of packages from the entry to the house.
The longest I had was about 5sec. From standby yo record. Notifications can be a little longer depending on what you ha e it set up to do.
@@Wanderer001_Reviewsthanks, yeah that seems too long to me as even 3 seconds is going to be long enough for a thief to be in and out without any evidence. Maybe hard wired is my only answer.

What kind of impact does winter have on these cameras? Snow? Zero degree temperatures? Ice?
I am only getting into real cold weather by me. So follow up in the future.
Great review of Eufy's new technologies. Thank you!
QQ - Do you know if camera's can record to HB3 if the internet connection goes out? I have a location where I would like to install this system, however, the internet connection is prone to outages.
I do not belive they can. At least right now. That could change in the future but not something I would count on.
As of right now the alarm works only with one camera at a time. That might change in the future.
Thanks for the best Eufy review yet. Can I use an ssd drive in the home base?
You can. It takes either an SSD or HDD.
Use the wifi extender for the Homebase 3 and place it (the 3) central to the cameras.
Can you assign a specific notification sound for each camera or is it just the normal tone for each?
Just the normal tone.
Currenlty the home base 3 needs to be connected to your router for it to work.
It can also be connected to a switch, which will be attached to the router, allowing you to put it wherever you have your switch located.
Eufy has recently updated the HomeBase 3 to be able to connect to your wifi.
How many cameras will the base support? I am planning on adding multiple cameras and hard wiring is not an option in several locations.
I would like to know if you can view the camera's when you are not at home in real time over the internet like when you go out for the day?
Yes you can. That is what is great about these cameras.
Hi, how far from the base can we have a stable wifi , and otherwise can I connect the base to a booster/répétiteur Wifi when to optimize the range ?
I have tested it at about 60 feet away. You can connect the home base to a booster to help with placement.
all camara are good like eufycam solo indoorcam c24 with spotlight or eufycam pan tilt indoorcam but it is a pity that eufy only works with 2.4ghz network
Not sure if you mentioned and I missed it but do these camera have live video to view on your phone in real time?
Yes, once you open the camera you will see a live feed of what is going on.
No one ever mentions that these cameras have automations. An excellent feature.
Yes it is often over looked in reivews as it is a more advanced feature that requires some setup.
Does the Homebase 3 work with the older eufy 2c pro cameras?

Hi there, do you know if Motion-Activated Illumination is possible on the s330’s?
Yes the LED can be triggered if you set it up to do so.
Can you connect the base to a NAS instead of putting the hard drive directly into the base?
You can not. Meant to be stand alone device.
question: If I have the eufy setup and then go on vacation can I use my phone to check my home via the app?
Yes you can. That is the great thing about camera systems like this.
Seems impressive but how many cameras can it handle ? I use to have a older wired system that ran 16 cams to cover my property & shed’s.
Officaly from the eufy site the home base can support up to 16 cameras or up to 34 sensors.
what is the maximum distance you can put the camera from the homebase 3?
About 30feet.
Hopefully they come up with a better version that you can stream
Personally I like PNY, ScanDisk, Toshiba for work horse drives. If you want something with a little extra "power" Segate or Wester Digital.
What's the battery life? What is the max camera distance from the base?
I got about 4 months before the bellow zero weather hit. Right now I will probably get 2 months during the winter months.
Great review, thanks! However I’m wondering if the cameras human detection work at night so it only triggers an alert if it detects a human? Also, can you combine geofencing with schedule so that when you come home you tell the cameras to activate only during nighttime and when I leave it activates the cameras?
Human detection does work at night. It does not currently support geo fencing.
Why is camera placement 2-3 m . Surely encouraging someone to hit/ cover camera. What is the maximum height for camera mounting ?
The 2-3m is the recommended hight. This is because the camera uses a PIR sensor to trigger the camera. This is a heat based motion detection system. If the camera is too high it will not work.
Can you plug the homebase into your existing router.
Yes you can. You do not need an extra device that it plugs it into.
I have a question has any eufy security camara vehicle detection
The S330 has it: ruclips.net/video/CNsauS6UQW0/видео.html. But that is do in part to the Bionic mind AI of the home base 3. Which will eventually work with other eufy cameras that connect to a home base.
Bro i got a question i just purchase this camera set great video quality but why it doesnt record during the night time only on the day it records perfectly?
Check to make sure that you did not setup a schedule to not have it record over night. It should record over night as well.
Can I use homebase alarm instead of camera alarm?
So more about notifiying you with a sound rather then trying to ward off a person?
Please can you give a link to where I can get the 16TB Toshiba 2.5” SATA hard drive
amzn.to/3In70nz
Well, recording quality, you unfortunately CANNOT record in 4K as soon as you have cloud plan activated. It does not matter that you want your 4K camera to skip cloud and record to homebase, only 1080p is allowed. And this is seriously ridiculous step by Eufy!
What about their security issues? Have these now been resolved?
If you are asking about the issue that came out a few months ago, yes that has been addressed.
How do you get the expandable memory? 🤷🏽♂️
In order to expand the memory or space to save clips you need to buy a hard drive for the Homebase 3. As the cameras use that to store their clips.
How do these do in inclement weather like rain, snow, and ice?
It holds up pretty well I've had this actually just about a year now so I've had it through rain snow and ice. Rain doesn't affect it at all. Snow you might need to brush off the snow to use the solar panel but it works fine. Ice can get around the lens and work the view a little bit depending on your angle. But generally it's fairly thin and some sun will take care of it.
WHEN CAMERA IS MOTION ACTIVATED IT AUTOMATICALY STARTS TO RECORD TO HOMEBASE YES? DOES RESET BUTTON ERASE THIS RECORDING?
yes this camera has the eufy sync button issue.
I live in ireland and needed to get a replacement mount and couldn't locate one here, i could in American but they dont post to ireland likewise Germany.... any ideas
The mount for this uses the same thread size as many other companies. If you can get one of them shipped to you then you could use if with the eufy camera.
can you add the 4k camera to homebase 2
eufy does have a few 4k cameras that can connect to the home base 3. More are coming with firmware updates some time in the future.
Question, do you need the internet to work? I would like to use these remotely. i know i will need a router with wifi for connecting the phone to the base
The cameras need to be in range of the base station. So yes they do need the internet to work.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews thank you.
Do you have to hook up the home base to a router to have it work?
When you first set it up you will. But after that you can change the setting so that it works over wifi and you can place the home base where you like it.
How is the range from camera to base?
support.eufy.com/s/article/How-far-can-I-place-eufyCam-from-HomeBase. I have mine about 60 feet away.
can this camera go back previous footage other than events?
It will only record events, you can not go back to view a 24/7 recording. If you want something like that you need to have a camera that runs on power.
@Wanderer001_Reviews thanks for the reply and suggestion!
Does this have the peeling and leaking issues in the solar panel like the first iteration did?
I have had this for over a year now and have not seen anything like that on these cameras.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews that's good then cause the S230 was a horrible mess when I came to those issues every single one I had
@@glovedcop69 My guess would be early mover issues with that one.
will it connect to a monitor?
Need the app to use the camera.
Does the home base need to be hard wired to internet?
For the setup prosses it does. After that you can use it over wifi.
Where to buy the hard drive from ?
I get mine from Amazon, or Bestbuy.
i have 2 rental builds am i able to buy 2 home base with the 2 cameras & watch both from the 1 app ?? on my 1 mobile phone
Yes, that is possible and you could even set up two different "homes" in the same account or see everything on one page.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews Amazing Thank you so much for getting back to me
Nice review.
They actually “activated the 2.4GHZ” while I was on the phone with them. It appears as a second wireless connection in the Setting wireless lists with the same route number PLUS “-Guest” (the word Guest is added to the original router name and both appear in the available wi-fi connections). No need to respond again, I just wanted you to know.
