  • Taken from Vanessa Wagner's new album Inland released on April 26th, 2019 on InFiné - idol.lnk.to/Inland
    -
Inland is the pianist’s continuation of the exploration of the minimalist composers register to complete the solo continuum of the Statea released in 2016 with the Mexican producer Murcof. Inland highlights a set of pieces, mostly rare or unavailable to date (Moondog, Nico Muhly, William Susman, Bryce Dessner, Gavin Bryars...) and some other well known (Philip Glass, Wim Mertens, Michael Nyman) that Vanessa Wagner performs with her classic pianist background and velvet sound.

Absolutely gorgeous interpretation of this amazing piece of music. I've heard it said that there's magic in the "spaces between" and that's what came to mind as I listened. You gave me space to FEEL all the emotion that this music encompasses. Thank you for that beautiful gift.

My favoirite version from now on... very emotive and melodic, the speed is perfect and intensity modulation is awesome. Hope some day I can play it like this.

I really like this elegant version best; fluent melodic with a lot of deep emotions & tensions., Dramatic and playful 'spiciness' alternate so beautifully.. My favorite - outstanding!

This version of Michael Nyman’s song has just become my favorite. It is played with more patience, and fluidity. It is far more elegant.

Sounds touch my ears and find their way inside me and it feels like they hit a previously unknown to me spot, and in reaction they make it produce emotions and feelings like no other... And I absolutely love it, it's so amazing!

I do not understand why you do not simply use your fourth finger in the right hand for the beginning top melodic note, it means you can more easily play the immediately following next note of the top melody more smoothly connected with the fifth finger rather than have to awkwardly extend the fifth for each.

It's pretty simple, only a sort of grade three to five piece, to know how to play like this simply requires sufficient practice, just keep practicing.
