Great job! Yes on the plates first. Thanks for the door adjustment tips! The only things I would add is that I always glue IKEA stuff together and the benefit of putting a finish on the wood to protect the wood. Makes it rock solid and age better. 👍

I'm so glad I came across this video! You did such an excellent job of explaining how to adjust those ridiculous (I'm not a carpenter) hinges! Subscribing just because of that!

Great video! Our door is binding like yours, but much worse - we've loosened the back screw, but at this point it's pretty much maxed before it's back to the insertion hole. Are the hinges themselves likely to be different tensions or something? They seem to have different resistance when pushed individually by hand (with no door).

It’s possible you’ve got some defective hinges. Try and swap them around and see if the good hinges work on that door. Sounds like either some holes are drilled in the wrong spot or you’ve got a hardware malfunction. Hope this helps!

Mosquitos are not attracted to lights, when you see the dead bugs almost none of them are mosquitos.

True, they are actually attracted to the carbon dioxide in your breath.

My doors were all good, and then I put my shelf in the top available hole position (and it lines up with the 'rails' on the back of the doors. Now they won't close properly. Can you put a shelf in this position? Or will it never be possible to adjust the doors with a shelf at the top there?

And yes I know it makes a super tiny shelf area at the top but trust me it makes sense to have it there for my purposes!

If the top rail of the door is just screwed, you could move it up or down out of the way of the shelf. However if the rail will not move after the screws are out then it’s glued and will not move.

Were you able to unscrew those "rails"?
