a decent plane with great maneuverability but with inadequate armament. It was a decent plane but could not compete with that of the German allies and of the enemies

Italian and Finnish cooperated very much in ww2, Italy sent not only a few pilots, mechanics, and 35 fiat g50 circa, i don't remember exactly how many, but also the Finnish navy was equipped with Italian motor torpedo boat, Finnish ships and subs and mtb used Italian torpedo too (aside with their, German, and others), and some of those motor boats was still in use for Civil duty in the 70. Only 1 Italian died there, a pilot, a mercenary one, not sent by Italy (he was a deserter in Italy, escaped in 1939, for stupid matters, a woman, and because he didn't like the fascist regime. ), is buried in the hero cemetery near mannerheim, seems was a valuable element for the squadron commander in the Finnish air force, that day attacked a formation of 100 bombers only with another Norse pilots, being hit to a lung, he landed, but the plane capsize and he died for the crush landing not for the lung wound. Finnish people care very much his tomb, while the Italian authorities and embassy no, since it result as a deserter.
