- This is my electric guitar rendition of the beautiful and fantastic "Cantata" - BWV 29 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) of my upcoming 2016 Album "Bach".
It is called "We thank you, God, we thank you" and was first performed as part of the inauguration ceremony of the Leipzig city council on August 27th, 1731 . It is one of my favourite Bach Cantatas and especially dedicated to my friend, the fantastic Jason Becker. I first saw this piece being played by Jason on his VHS "The legendary guitar of Jason Becker" when I was about 15 years old. He inspired me to learn it and I am very happy about that. Thanks Jason, I hope you're proud!
I also thank Dan Alvarez for his masterful playing and his beautiful arrangement of the piece and Mike Bemesderfer for Mastering.
Video production: Christian Fischer
Synthesizer: Dan Alvarez
Guitar: 1980 Gibson Les Paul Custom with EMGs and a paintjob by Marcus Pfeil

Testament to to the universality of Bach's music. It can be performed in any style and still sound good!
Totally agree
I greatly enjoy synthesized Baroque music, but your electric guitar rendition knocks this classical piece right out of the park. Bless you for bringing joy to my ears.
This... does put a smile on my face
Amazing performance, and beautifully shot. Looks like you had great fun as well. Bravo!
I feel sorry for the people who haven’t watched this. I remember watching this for the first time when Jason Becker had shared it. The best Bach cover on guitar ever!!!
A really great piece of music which constantly has changing moods and colours. One minute dark and dramatic, the next light and melodic.
Im standing and clap this amazing performance. Bravo.
I´m here again because this is divine!!!!
+Adrian Orona Thanks a lot :D
@@ultraboss Sir,it is a humble request if you could share the backing track with muted guitar part. I have a golden jubilee celebration of my Church next year and I want to play this piece.
Thanking you in advance.

Good playing , good orchestration and very well balanced mix.
I have been listening to a lot of Bach since childhood, nothing prevents me from hearing the real Bach in your performance, on the contrary, all the details are well emphasized, the entire score is clearly heard.
Serious work has been done, very nice to listen.
Thank You.
My favorite Bach piece. Amazing. Thank you!

From someone who can't even strum a decent chord on a guitar, thankyou. It was acoustic pleasure hearing you play a master's work with such skill.

最高にかっこいいです!
Is so awesome! Every thing about the video is so cool, and the way of you play is very fuckin' cool!!
Bravo Bravo
Brilliant! I agree with just about all the positive comments here (haven't read them all though). Beautiful and artistically respectful and faithful exercise in contrasts, visually and instrumentally. This could very profitably be used in an educational context, introducing young people to Bach, Baroque and Classical music. (My own appreciation of Bach and Baroque was by way of Switched On Bach in the late 1960s.)
superb
bravo!
vi éste video por que lo recomendó el mismísimo Jason Becker y fue un agrado escuchar y claro ver.

Very wendy carlos type of arrangement ! Awesome :)
Wow!! Brian Spalding sent me here and I’m glad he did! You Rock! And the effort you put into this video production too is to be commended!! New sub for sure!!
Thx 🌋😎👍
Mr J S would approve. Pure Awesomeness.
great video and performance, i would like to know how do you get that awesome tone??
jasom becker puso el oido aquí. ..por algo sera. felicidades
Bach re-used this on Partita No. 3 in E Major BWV 1006! Very nice played man, congrats!
Actually back re-used Partita No.3 for the Cantata BWV 29! The violin version was the first one.
Superb- Bach would love it!!!
👏👏👏👏👏🤩💕
he reminds me of ozzy a little,i like the guitar
Sei un schianto!
Switched on Bach 🌴🌴
Wow, how can you even do that?
Bach würde abzappeln 🤟🤤🤩
Bravo! Difficult enough on keyboard never mind guitar
I wish you went for a Malmsteen like or a Michael Denner like sound instead of a Jason Becker like sound. It's more suitable for Baroque I think. But fantastic playing and great video. Congrats!
omg it's 60s black sabbath ozzy playing guitar...
You look like ozzy from early black sabbath era. I did a version of this not as fast... didn't think to tap or hybrid pic. Ooops
He's playing it in A Major, not the original D major - maybe more fluid with guitar? Still a terrific performance!
Hmm, I bet god had a smile on her face :)
Noisy.
This is Bach on steroids!!!
baroque
Les bruits des pas grandioses
Yep. You know how to study with a metronome. Funny for the heavy metal fans, but nothing else, I'm afraid.
Ted Greene was good with Bach style...
I guess it is just a way of playing it. I am sure you have your fans and Bach's music allows doing almost anything with it, because it is really well written. Not my favourite performance, sorry.
¡Qué maravilla! ¡carajo!
