- "Avalon Now" by Bruce Walters and Felix Williamson won the first place Gold "Willbe" trophy and $1,000.00 at the 2015 Creative Creatures Film Festival held at Avalon Beach Bowling Club Sunday March 1st. A crowd favourite and extremely popular win which kept people smiling through the freak storm that popped up during the festival.

Not just Avalon - pockets of this across Sydney.
What a great doco about an amazing place full of well fed people, big cars, nice houses, great climate.... but then somewhere like Avalon sounds almost like an impossible dream to someone who comes from Central Australia... well, as long as I don't get given a hash tag...……Hᴜɢʜ….ツ
This is REALLY good. But in the context of being a contrast to "struggle street" it is absolutely brilliant.
It should be picked up by one of the commercial TV networks and heavily promoted as their answer to SBS's pathetically cynical 'documentary'. Well done. Funny as.

I don't get it.. What about the fear of leaving the bilgola bends? What about the differences between Avalon and Newport people (yes i went there). What about the fact Av cats (Me) we only go to the Arms on NYE. Av bulldogs, Poo creek, thunder alley, Putting signs up on the bends for stupid reasons, everybody goes to sleep at 9pm. Ok, i might make my own one. But i'll share it. Nice work

A fantastic send up on the kind of people that ruined heaven on earth and sent me running from where i was born like the expulsion from Eden.Classic send up of the Waddo, who is very important to himself now for pushing a button, and Shoulders, who against the odds manages to remain human and always was a decent guy like Waddo used to be, bit :), but you only had to walk 40 yards to do it at the right place; but doing it in the wrong one makes it kind of chinsy and funnier though. That place went from the joy of my youth to thinking tooth extraction without analgesics may be a valid option to living there.But its sadly always had its unfair share of abhorrent pricks that symbiotically link their identity to it and that somehow makes them special.Someone should put a bunch of Acid in the Bilgola reservoir, Avalon's water supply.If Mckenna's stoned ape Thesis is right it might shake them out of their endless wank.
When did it get like this?
I was there as a kid over from England in '99 and really liked it, although honestly the fact it was simply warm and clean will have had a lot to do with that..but I don't remember it being stuck up or anything. I see this comment is 7 years old so lord only knows what the situation is now..
