The tab manager is so much worse, as you can only get a decent preview of 2-3 tabs at a time, while you see 6 in Safari. Makes navigating through tabs really annoying
It just looks good. But for people who actually use many tabs, yeah it's annoying af
@@vitorsalles5919 who doesn’t tho? I think nobody closes a tab every time they leave the browser, next time you just open another one, especially since you may need the previous search for later
Yea its just the old way safari used to be why would i want to go back
Yup, same for the multitasking, it's really stupid for navigating between apps quickly and well organized. Hate the iPhones for that reason.. (I have an iPhone as my workphone, use android as my daily driver)
That’s exactly why I switched back. Now as for the desktop version, that has the best tab management out of any browser and it’s not close.
It certainly sounds interesting but I feel like it’d be difficult to compete these days, especially considering the fact that people are just used to using Chrome and Safari as that’s where they have their accounts logged onto.
Trust it’s very easy to make the switch. I haven’t looked baxk
it’s not that hard lol
@@WillBowersit imports everything lol
The ARC can compete because they’re creating their own ecosystem, similar to apple. You have Arc browser for macOS (which is amazing) and windows (still in beta)

I’ve been using Arc for a few months now and love it. Not missing Safari at all.
Just downloaded it and started using, how is it with bookmarks and custom folders for bookmarks??
It’s identical to any other browser you use thankfully. As soon as you download it, it’ll ask if you want to transfer all bookmarks and folders from other browsers you’ve used.
@@Litologyy It's a different UI though so you'll just need to get used to it. But once you do it'll be a great experience.
the summarization feature is the coolest thing i’ve ever seen come out of a browser app. might look into it considering chrome and safari aren’t the greatest browser options out there.

I suspect we will see the summarize web page in iOS 18. I know Google just released this feature as well along with the Pixel 8 devices. Lots of AI features incoming at WWDC.
Will most probably come exclusive to iphone 16 Pro and Pro Max with some bullshit explanation like the NPU being not powerful enough. They could just make the AI services fully online for older devices but well... AI will be their next "innovation" and selling point. I'm not a hater btw I'm a happy 14 Pro user (my main phone) but I'm not blind. I have many devices most of them Android tho.

nah, these things end up just sitting around on the phone. Best thing to do on iOS is to just use the basic apps as intended and be able to use continuity to keep things in sync across devices. Chrome also works, especially if you need extensions. But, if you use apple password manager, then Chrome won't work well with it. So, Safari lives on
Safari is the best, period.
you can make safari use chrome password manager along with keychain. just go into settings and search for passwords then tap password options and it will let you choose chrome as an extra password manager
in my opinion , chrome is better in general BUT if your an apple user , just use your defaults, it feels awkward moving to something else that your not use to.
@@la6188 not if your using a non - apple product...

Remember children: all browsers on iOS are skinned versions of Safari.
No
all ios browsers were based on Web kit, thats far from a "Skin". webkit is btw. opensource and is not mandatory anymore.
And even if you consider all the stuff around webkit a "Skin", thos features are the important part of a browseer, not the HTML renderer, not the JS engine.
@@thefynn thanks to the digital markets Act in the EU well have some new browser engines to test out soon that aren't running on webkit!
And on Mac it’s a chrome skin.

Its a cool idea and definitely a useful tool, but it just takes so long for it to load into even a normal website that I just wouldnt be able to use it as my default browser
I love this browser but it isn’t replacing safari.
Agree. And its biggest disadvantage for adoption is that it doesn’t give you any of the good features unless you make it your default browser. That really turned me off of them as when you click certain links like RUclips etc they don’t open the app, and open inside of arc. Super annoying and renders arc completely useless for me.

I use Arc for windows and on my phone. It’s great!! (it’s only in beta on windows rn and it uses a little too much ram so i only use it on my PC. I still use chrome on my laptop)
I've also tried arc on my windows laptop. I resulted in back to using Edge 😅 I feel like, in its current early beta testing state, it's trying to be Safari on macs. Arc is AI powered!? 🤯
Yeah the summaries and browse for me features are
Yes and it’s currently one of the only AI feature integrations that doesn’t feel gimmicky. Feels like it works the way it just should
And the Mac/ windows app has an AI called Arc Max which is sooo handy.
It lets you ask an AI chat bot any question son a page, and it will read the page and answer it
Also if you have lots of tabs, you can use the tidy button to AI generate sub-categories for your tabs plus soo many AI features to make your life easier. Just Google it ig to learn more
Recently they added call arc, you open arc and hold your phone like you are calling someone, you can ask questions and its responds live
underrated as hell, keep up the good content, didnt expect it to only have under 1k likes.
Why are there two apps for arc? Arc search and just arc?
I love Arc! That team works tirelessly putting out new updates. For a young company they have done so much in a small amount of time meanwhile Safari throw you a bone or 2 of a major update a few times out the year
Literally every browser on IOS is built on safari as per apple rules so more a safari update than a killer
Love the app. One major flaw, bookmarks require a second app and can’t be opened or saved in the main browser
Your browsing query is sent to 3rd party sever for AI processing.
@@karanr3ddy that has nothing to do with what I commented
That's actually not the case! You can star tabs and they will show up at the top of the search bar.
Another major flaw I’ve already run into, and this is for shady sites but still. I make a lot of ringtones from RUclips videos 🤷♂️ but when a pop-up tab comes and tells you something silly like “your phone has a virus” or etc naturally you close that tab and go back to what you were doing. However in this browser there’s NO other option but to press okay on the malware page. You can close the browser and when you open the app again it will take you right back to that page leaving you nothing but to press okay 🤣 so obviously one doesn’t have to visit sites with malicious pop ups BUT I’m going back to safari regardless.
@@NehemYah810 What do you mean? If you want to close or switch your tab, just click the button in the bottom left.
I don’t really see a good reason to move to it. There is no dark mode and no extensions. I prefer normal google search over the summarize feature.
this video is highly inaccurate and incomplete since it omitted a key piece of information: Arc is a MacOS Browser, Chromium as a matter of fact. It’s a young startup, but the Arc browser on MacOS (which released for Windows last week too) is insanely good. I’d suggest you try it out. Arc Search for iOS is just for quick browsing and can now (as of this week) sync bookmarks and tabs with your desktop Arc Browser. The desktop version is packed with features and I’m still to find something missing, tbh. On top of that I don’t see your point since Chrome for iOS doesn’t support extensions either
Still you didn’t mention The features that would make me move to Arc. I see none personally.
I mentioned extensions with Safari not chrome.
For me Dark mode is important and it’s not there yet in Arc iOS.
Safari does the job and is stable
@@Abdullah-zl9ub I probably wasn’t clear enough, I’m sorry. I suggested you tried Arc for desktop, not Arc Search. Arc Search has no point in being used if you don’t also use the desktop browser on your pc. This applies to any browser in existence to be honest, since the syncing part is a fundamental of any web browsing across platforms. If you want I can tell you about Arc’s features on desktop (Arc Search for iOS is literally everything you see in this video plus the “bookmarks” and tabs you have open in your desktop spaces, which as I mentioned were added after this short released), but I strongly suggest looking at their website or trying the browser for a few days. I don’t know if you have a Mac or a windows pc, but both are supported; I believe the Mac version could be more refined since it has existed longer, but definitely go for it, if you’d like it 😄
