@@nastynation2639 strengthen your core by different core exercises....and I think you might be bending back while doing it which causes too much strain on stomach 😊
This is so perfect because my friend asked me to help him out with his backflips tomorrow at open gym! :D Im definitely going to reference this video a lot! Thanks :)
@@habibhassan7770 unfortunately nope :/ he wasn't as dedicated to it when he had a couple falls so the fear took over. I had multiple friends I'd try teaching and usually they all get scared, open up mid flip and dong complete the rotation. It's tough! I dont blame them and I wish I could have been a better teacher. Even with trampolines and mats, they just couldnt do it because of fear, however they lacked leg power so it's just too many factors that played into it
@@HabibRahmannn backflip is combination between height and flip rotation. FEAR usually makes a person have a very low jump, and their power in rotation is usually weak as a beginner. So I'd say work on strengthening hip flexors and abs first. Look up gymnastic ab exercises. Then you can work on height. Which is hard to say based on body length. If you're skinny and small, you dont need to focus on your jump as much because the force you can produce will be easier. If you're tall or large, then you'll really need to cut weight if fat or get a solid tuck for that rotation at whatever height. The more you practice in safe environments like into foam pits or trampoline, the safer and more comfortable you'll be. Always warm up before and stretch after. Stretch abs A LOT. People sit a lot nowadays. So hips and abs are tight. Do the cobra/upward dog stretch or bridge if you can. Those stretches can give you mobility that generates more power in the long run for learning back flip. Theres not much I can tell you though comments, but I hope this gives you a good idea
Hey Christopher! I have the problem of actually throwing my hips forward so I actually do a little bit of a gainer. Any tips or drills I could do to break this habit? Thanks!
Hey! I would really focus on your take-off. Practice the stretch jump and make sure your weight is balanced evenly. It's important to open up your hips, but don't open up your hips too far to where your back begins to arch (this is how a gainer might happen). Hope this helps!
Great video, you know you are really good at backflips because you can make all of the common mistakes on purpose and still control it so you don't hurt yourself! Thumbs up
this helped a lot thanks. im trying to learn backflip on ground,i already know how to do it on the tramp, but to do it on ground is almost impossible for me so this helped alot
Despite my age (45) I managed to do it once one day recently! I try to keep my body in very good physical condition and I'm still practising. Thanks for a great tutorial video!
Watching this video made me realised that I actually make a few of these mistakes every time I do back tucks. Thank you so much for a really helpful tutorial.
I once was a parkour & freerunning athlete and trained with your tutorial videos. I miss the old me . Anyway thanks for you to teach me with your videos😍😍
Alright, I'll give it to you, I was checking if you were right and everything is spot on all the way to the explanation of each problem and how you can fix it... proud of you mah dude
This is a perfect explanation of exactly what to do. The only thing that can't be shown is the feeling of understanding exactly what you're learning until you experience it first hand with practice. I got on a trampoline and can land front flips easily but was afraid of going backwards for the backflip. After about 5 min of psyching myself out I went for it and landed one 3rd try. It was a mess and I had no idea what just happened except that I did it. So I kept practicing and over 3 days of practice I finally landed one that just felt perfect, I could feel all the right movements at the right angles come full circle and instead of not knowing what went on I could feel way more in control of it now and do it every try with no fear. The preload arm swing back and then up and the upper body just jumps and flows with the arms momentum, simultaneously I looked straight ahead just slightly higher exactly like in this video and once my arms were at the top of my jump and I felt the ride up I just pulled a cannonball knee grab and leaned back like a chair and hold. Bam the perfect backflip. I cannot express enough how much the "feeling" of each move much be felt in practice before really understanding how to do this.
I learned Backtuck after I watched this video! This is amazing!this video is very helpful! And now I learned more than just a BackFlip! Thank u for uploading this video! Now I can do a BackFlip anywhere & anytime!🤞🏼🔥💪🏼🔥✊🏼
Five mistakes: 1. Jumping backward(sol sholduer above knee) 2. Throw head 3. Not using arms (arms on ears) 4. Not opening ur hibs (extend ur body and do not jump with knee not fully extended) 5. Untuck two early(hold your tuck)
Bro you literally explode off the ground. Insane. Great video by the way, I was throwing my hands up but not bringing them in- I thought moving my hands down to grab and tuck would decrease my speed, but it helps you tuck a lot easier.
Man I've watched a couple of these videos and they definitely are going to help me out!! (Uploading a video soon of my neck breaking backflip).Your content is very well composed (graphic and audio quality, and organization of the breakdown). I don't feel like hurting my head or knees anymore D: . Why are you able to make the mistakes you mentioned but still land the flip? Is it because you have the other techniques down and use them to the best of your ability? I figured since my squat is so high, and much more relative to my bodyweight that it would be easier than it has proved to be. Technique, technique, technique. I train to be healthy and an athlete and I need to get this flip down. Thanks man, I subscribed for this video alone but also for future videos to come
Thanks dude, your video really helped me! There's a summer parcour camp in a few month, and I really want to be able to do some back- and frontflips 'till that. So this video was ecactly right!👌💪
I'm gonna save months of making mistakes over and over again thanks to you. My backflip isn't that terrible but there are small mistakes I wasn't even aware of. I was wondering why is it so exhausting for me to do a backflip and I even if I put 100% of my energy I barely land on feet. Now I know. Thanks 👍
I never noticed the sitting thing, but it makes a lot of sense. Luckily I still land on my feet, but only a couple have been with my chest up. Thanks for the tutorial.
Number 1 was definetly my problem. I learnt backflip and my technique was perfect, then i was "flying" too backwards and that sucks. But now I watched your tips and finally saw what my mistake was. Thanks a lot. Keep it up.
