Aysia King Hi Aysia!! :DOne of these days I was watching a DIY video... On that video, the CD film was discarded, but I noticed how easy it was to remove... I love bugs and I love metalic effects... I just needed to try if it would work with polymer clay, and it did! :D Big Hug and thank you for your sweet comment!! :D
***** Yes, and actually that shiny layer that comes off is actually why scratched cd's can be repaired and still used. The scratches get on the layer of clear plastic that is the base of the disc. The underside of the shiny part is what actually holds the information. So, cleaning off even a badly scratched or dirty cd just is restoring the ability to view the information through the plastic again. Secrets revealed!
What a great idea. Who can resist bug that are this cute! 🐞🕷🐞 It has taken me 5 years to find your channel, but I am so glad I have. I have loved every idea I have seen so far.
such a cute idea! i saw a similar project with old cds on pinterest a while ago and i was thinking about ehat to do with them. now this is a really creative way and it looks soooo good. thanks a lot for sharing! i'm always looking forward to a new video of yours and i'm always so excited when you posted a new one. thank you sooo much for sharing all of your beautiful ideas! it is very much appreciated :) hugs
Cheryl Sayers Hi Cheryl!! :DI made a few and I have lots of CDs to recycle! Haha!! :D It's super fun! I enjoyed so much this project!! I hope you enjoy it too!! Big Hugs!! :D
another awesome tutorial,i had no clue the vinyl came off of the c,ds..i am going to try this in resin several different ways.Thank you so much for sharing this, thumbs up
lisa houston Hi Lisa!! :DI was surprised too, a few days ago, when i was watching a video :) But in that case the film was discarded and removed with tape. I've tried with my old Cds and it was much more easy to remove than I thought :D ... without the tape! I also tried with DVDs, but they are more dificult to remove. I could separate the 2 plastic layers, but most of the films are very sticky to one of the plastics... I made it with an Octron DVD -R! The film came out very very easily! And the reflexion of the colors are much more intense than the normal CDs -R Anyway, I'll keep those DVDs to make some fusing plastic projects! :D I haven't tried with resin... I'll try it too :D Big Hug!!
These are really pretty! Especially the ones with the alcohol ink. The bugs without the legs would make cute rings. I have shared this tutorial on my Pinterest clay garden & insects page. 🐜 Thanks for being so creative, & for sharing!

Hi! Sorry for the second comment, do you think I could use clear nail polish, since it's difficult to find Liquid Fimo & Fimo as well? Maybe I could use cork, instead of the Fimo black coin? What do you think? Thanks again. Hahaha!
I have to try this, but I have been having no luck getting the film off. Is there a specific cd that needs to have something on it or can it be blank? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Raimundo Kerschbaumer Olá Raimundo!
Muito obrigado pelo seu simpático comentário! :D
