"Some of our astute followers have noticed me slurring my words. I am not drunk but working with Brad it would be justifiable. I had 6 infected cysts removed from my mouth (noncancerous) and I have residual scar tissue and numbness. I will try to do better. Thanks Bob."
Great video thanks guys. You can also roll the sides of your calves from the prone position - give it a go. Sometime can you do a video on peripheral artery disease PAD and exercise regimes to combat that. Many thanks.
They are so inflammatory! I don't know if they are for everyone, and they just don't notice, or if it's just certain people, but grains actually make my joints and stomach hurt. I'm glad you found what works for you.
That's an inflammation response. I have to cut gluten, meat, and some dairy out of my diet in order to keep my sciatica from flaring. You'd be surprised how eating the right foods for your body will heal all your ailments! Check out Chris Kresser and look into functional medicine. Life changing stuff there
its getting that way that your channel cant help without me buying a half dozen gadgets first to perform the exercise . What happened to good old days?
My calves have atrophied due to pain/ weakness in hips and trouble walking. I've had replacement surgeries now... is there any other exercise that'll help besides calf raises?
100% this. Most of the time it comes from above (hips) or from below (reduced ankle mobility etc) but it needs to be adressed first. You can stretch and foam roll the calves all you want, they wont budge without adressing the root cause.
Sorry to hear that. To loosen up your muscles, a massage gun might be very useful to avoid that cramping especially when doing exercises and stretches!
You know they are tight when you walk down a big step and you feel something snap in your calf area. If I didn't have a dinner plate in my hand I would have went down immediately.
Bob said right right @3:17. He meant to say that's dumb but couldn't say it on camera to Brad lol. Brad got him back though @6:27 talking about his wife putting up with him lol.
I'm sad you didn't mention "The Stick" massager. I bought one 25 or so years ago when a team of African runners were selling them to help pay their travel expenses to my community in the USA. It's smaller than the foam roller (more portable) & in my experience, works faster & easier.

You definitely do not sound drunk Bob, it sounds like you have braces in lol..no need to apologise
Yeah, don't apologize for the trolls, you guys do us plebs a great service. Thank you
Don't be sorry for being a hero xx
Hope your doing well ! 👍🏻
I got muscle tightness on my calf
You can also wear compression socks. I wear compression socks while I run and its the only thing that has actually prevented it from happening.
I know this comment is a year old but do you recommend a specific brand of compression socks?
@@pabulumm bombas !
Glad to see you back Bob .

The only thing that helped my tight calves was changing my diet. For some reason, eating grains and dairy caused my muscles to all cramp painfully.

That’s really interesting. I just cut out dairy and keeping my fingers crossed. Always feel better without grains (and I’m gluten-free).

Could also be too much of a heel in all your shoes and weak abs. Can also plug your massage gun if it's too painful to roll and stretch.
Been watching a lot of your vids and your videos have gotten much better quality did you hire a videographer? Great content guys
Whats causing tight calves??
Excellent information. Sir al see o load video on knee hyperextension
When I point my toes downward i feel it isolated to my Achilles.
Any exercise or something I can do without buying special equipment?
Do tight calf's cause plantar fasciitis
yes
at 3:56 be really careful. This can over stretch very easily on inside the heel muscles
yeah if you don’t keep your leg straight
Nice video and thanks

Someone invented a better way for home use. Those rollers are cheap and work like nothing else but getting a massage.
More knowledge was gained and therefore these are more effective its not about being a cheapskate

have you tried tibialis raises? look up the kneesovertoesguy on youtube maybe he can help you out more
@@jr-pn1dt Thank you I'll do that!
@@jr-pn1dt thanks I've got atrophy from permanent nerve damage due to having cauda equina syndrome. Going to check out his channel!
I love you guys
Shouldn’t you assess to determine WHY the calf muscle is “tight” first?
Exactly. My tight calves come from my hips being out of alignment. Until I fix my hips, my calves will continue to be tight.

@@ensignj3242 I have the same problem. How do you fix the hips though?
thank you! needed that
I did this one time but right after I got a bad cramp.😢

I can’t hold myself up because I have one good arm
Now I’m worried about a blood clot
My calves feel good but my Achilles feels taut. Same deal to fix this?
Actually training you calves can decrease the strain of this springy tendon
Tight calves? Roll them out with the foam sure, but bring out the big guns and get yourself a Rad Roller. Cannot recommend enough.
Stretching your feet helps

Bruuuuuuuh oh man thats crazyy
Will a massage gun help to?
Is tight calves and calf pain like different i stretched them and i deffo feel the difference but sone pain is still there

It’s working for me
It is working fine for me.
Check your volume, because it's fine

Yes! "The Stick" which I find to be far superior!
For me, a leg compression machine fixed it.
