One of your best videos you've ever made. The analogies. The analysis. The *storytelling*. I already knew the ending but your presentation kept me on the edge of my seat the entire 30 minutes. Congrats, you should be proud of yourself
Agreed. With these multi-game matches, telling a story and speculating about the emotions of the players and how they push back and forth makes it easier for us to follow
Spoken freely, used pictures. B+
Agreed. I usually skip through recap videos but this video was entertaining from start to finish. Very well done.

can you explain to me why the move at 11:15 is a loosing move. i still dont get it
It doesn't get better than this. Levy makes a half hour of chess analysis go by in an instant. It's just so entertaining while also being so informative that its just a joy to be on the ride
This has to be the most epic chess video I have ever seen and it’s almost entirely because of the absolutely exhilarating commentary

9:24 When the bishop is so trapped that Eminem Stan starts playing
This video is triple the GOAT, featuring Magnus, Hikaru and Levy managing to recap every single one of their 17 matches less than an hour after the game, absolute savagery.
if you count the points...they actually played 28 games not just 17
@@stbr3937 Yea, but levy introduced it as 17 games covered so I’m just parroting him tbh.
The best player in the world (Magnus), the best streamer in the world (Hikaru) and the best content creator + commentator in the world (Levy). Actually the GOAT Trinity.
@@stbr3937the other ones all ended in draws so it doesn't make much sense to recap
This match speaks volumes about Hikaru’s resilience and resourcefulness, and Magnus’ raw domination even on an off day. He was clearly off-form but still nearly clutched it at the end. He led the 3+1 and 1+1 after playing badly in the 5+1. GOATs.
I am not sure but out of all the SCC matches I have seen I have never seen someone losing an SCC match after winning 2 out of 3 segments
@@williamrobert9898 The difference in the 5+1 was just too big.
I honestly think the WC final being at the same day probably was bad for Magnus. I felt exhausted myself after that and I was completely neutral. He looked completely out of energy. Well played by Hikaru though, I think he played better overall and completely played Magnus's weakness and didn't let it come down to creative chess as he said himself.
@Tehkenny1 I wouldn't necessarily say he played "better" than Magnus, it was clear that Magnus always got the better of Hikaru whether he was on the white side or the black side he seemed to outplay Hikaru in most of the games but he had some terrible time management and most of the games in which he outplayed Hikaru ended in a draw after Magnus failed to convert his advantage
@@williamrobert9898 I think you're wrong but it is also the reason why Carlsen is the best player in the world and Hikaru isn't. Hikaru is perfect against Magnus, Magnus thrives on creative and wild chess, he wants it as far away from theory as possible while Hikaru is probably the best in the world at solid chess. Playing constantly solid against a player like Magnus means Magnus need to play more risky moves which can lead to counter attacks
They are playing moves so quickly that I can't even process which blunder I would've done.
Absolutely Incredible performance by them.
as someone who has never really played chess more than casually this is extremely entertaining to watch even if I don't know really what is going on
I think, the best thing of this recap is the fact that he has finally put the clocks !
Yeah, it made me think of this: ruclips.net/user/shortsPnC5f6tnj5U?feature=share
Streaming has given Hikaru so much confidence and has virtually no pressure in tournaments anymore. He's playing with house money. He truly seems like the only player who does not seem intimidated by Magnus anymore and Magnus stated that himself. What an epic match. Was cool to see Magnus share how much he enjoyed it. He finally had someone challenge him at his level
Magnus played terrible
@@stianaandal1488 oh you would have won for sure. why didnt you qualify?
@@billybobbobson3797 Its not a jab tho, he really did play awful. His play has been going downhill for a while now.
@@maxrusty3596 thank you
@@billybobbobson3797 Magnus was far from his best. He made easy blunders and he was always very low on time which is a very bad sign. However he played better eventually.

It is only after 2 1/2 years of studying chess daily that I can begin to appreciate just how strong they are. That's one of the fascinating things about chess for me, there is always a higher level of understanding. I think that's why even super GMs are still hooked to the game, no matter how good you are you can never "figure out" chess.
@@Axiomatic75 How do you manage your study sessions?
