@@LoveBagpipes Surrender was about 200. It’s dependent upon whether they lay companies be severely under strength, or consolidate them to have stronger units. Light infantry companies are 105 - 175 at full TOE depending on the type and nation.

Both. Any defensive actions by Ukraine army are simply to buy time for a larger line of defense and fortifications further west in major cities.

I don't believe that you are reasoning well on the day after this on going slaughtering - why would they let it happen in the first place loosing equipment and manpower in such magnitudes! Russians have taken over most of the heavily fortified cities and are keeping UA moving backwards so there is little time for new fortifications also RA has brought 150k new recruits to the line which had been rotating the last 6 months for training also UA has lost almost all its air defense. Another key thing is that russian men are joining the army at the rate of 3k a week while UA has to kidnap men to fight.
The Russian strategy is not to hold ground defensively simply to hold ground. Offensively, it's doubtful whether we'll see grand, sweeping maneuvering by The Russians, but rather intense, small, company-sized actions times 50 all across clear objectives when the bigger push comes. It's macro effect will be strategic.
Gone are the days of big armored thrusts.
Both sides have learned that is no longer feasible in a data-rich environment where everyone sees everyone else.
The Russians learned this in the first days of the war and The Ukraine learned this later, when their "offensive" in Zhaporizia was ground down.
Well recently the surrender of a Ukrainian brigade near Umanske was corroborated by Zelensky and it is reported that their reason for surrender is being denied evacuation. On the other hand no such thing has occurred near Chasiv Yar or in Pervomaiske. So it's both.

These are peripheral areas with very small plots of land and small houses. During the USSR time these were the only privately owned real estate but compared to the Blocks they lacked severely in modern comforts.
Dacha: is a seasonal or year-round second home, often located in the exurbs of post-Soviet countries

Even with further aid, it will be over by the end of next year, but the way things are currently going, the end of this year is more likely.

Where is bohdanivka with respect to Bakhmut?
We Ukranians never liked Syrsky. Cuz of him we have lost alot of men in Bakhmut and now because Zelensky was afraid that Zalushnie might become the next president of Ukraine. Zelensky removed him and put his russian puppet in military power. If someone doesn't know Syrsky is Russian, he was never Ukranian, he has studied and he trained in the Russian military then he spent sometime studying in our country, but we still hate him and we don't like him and his ways of leading army.
So yeah I can't even hope about the victory of my country more of a way for Zelensky to keep himself in power but I bet this won't last for too long because alot of us already fed up with these terms of who can be send to battle and who can't be and especially how these soilders are being treated among the army.
He seems to do as he is told by Zelensky, Fight without care for the lives of the men.

How many times is that? Bohdanivka was supposed to have fallen at least twice in as many weeks.
It keeps falling just as Biden does. The fall is not always once.
Ukraine keeps throwing in more troops to prolong lost causes, it's the story of this conflict so far, especially with Syrski, he keeps throwing good after bad, burning through Ukrainian troops and equiptment. Russia aren't afraid to make tactical retreats to rebuild and preserve their forces. I'm guessing Syrski is under pressure to try and create small PR victories to keep their Western backers from bailing on them and Biden doesn't want a defeat before the elections.
