I love that there are so many imperfections. You don’t necessarily spot them onscreen but Ithink it probably does contribute to that authentic grittiness that Star Wars pioneered.
From a viewer perspective the 77 film Vader looked metllic, battle scarred and tough.the later film, looked polished and dressy for fancy dress military. On board military inspection of the death star..all are nice. I think Vader had a few different helmets for different occasions.

That finish is incredible, Paul. Got an EFX I'll be repainting soon, and excited to try to nail that ANH look.

Good point, re Vaer having to suit up for his 9 to 5 as opposed to being out in the field.
@@rabbitandcrow Lol, Yeuppers something like that,9 to 5? Dolly Parton sang about that.👍🤠
I used to think the ANH helmet looked bad compared to ESB and ROTJ but I’m beginning to appreciate all of the subtle details.
Thanks for sharing! Really looking forward to the upcoming videos. ANH Vader is best Vader IMO 💯 Love too how the widows peak looks on the ANH
Very well made and informative!
It would be cool to see Rogue One Vader helmet in comparison
This my favorite as well
Great info!

1:33 A New Hope's 11 million USD budget was as high as the budget of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Average movie budget 1975 was 3,3 million USD.
Considering its scope and groundbreaking effects it was not a huge budget, and it went significantly over its original budget.
Don't forget 10 years of inflation between 2001 and Star Wars.
