I finally flew in Delta’s First Class...

- Very shortly after arriving back from Reno, I had another trip planned...this time meeting up with my dad in Montana for a sick weekend planned around Yellowstone. This was the second time we decided to do something like this...go to one of America's most popular national parks in the off-peak season and let me just say...this turned out to be a much better experience than Glacier (more vids to come you'll see!). First, we each had to get there and my first flight was from San Francisco to Salt Lake City aboard Delta's A319 in First Class. This was my first ever time in Delta First and even though I originally booked it for the A220-100 that was on the route, it was still an awesome flight and I'd highly recommend flying in the front if you can afford or the price is right! Hope you guys enjoy!

I was looking to fly the family to NY or Vegas and almost pulled the trigger on first class seats. Thanks to this video I’ll save the coin. So glad I saw this video instead of wasting the money and being disappointed.

That retrofit on the A319 looks really nice. I do love the A220-100 however. I went out of my way to fly it from SMF to SLC on DL.

Just flew delta first on the a220 sfo-slc last night! Can confirm, very nice and probably my favorite domestic first seat right now. Hoping you can follow up with that experience soon!

FWIW, the service you got on that flight is the same as it is now. SFO-SLC is under 900 miles (599 miles to be exact), so it wouldn't get a meal. The only thing that might be different is that you would get your tea in a mug instead of a paper cup.
There's a reason why, even as Platinum Medallion, I don't buy FC on Delta (or with most airlines to begin with).
What exactly are the differences on this Delta flight, between first class and economy? I didn't sse a lot of luxury on your flight considering it was supposed to be first class.

That sucks bad!! I love flying first class on the A220. One of my favorite aircraft now. They are just such a nice plane. I bet it was an equipment swap. The 220 was still in it's teething issues back then.

What you really want to look for is the A321neo. That one has the new Delta First Class seats on it. I believe they only fly transcontinental routes though.

Opposite happened to my wife and I back in 2020. Was supposed to be flying on a 319 from SLC to ORD, but Delta switched it to a 220. Great plane (also flying on one tonight)

I was supposed to fly on a JetBlue A320 to Orlando, but they switched it to an E190... I guess the E190 will be completely retired from JetBlue's fleet so it's not bad that I get to fly it one last time

Definitely want to try Delta’s first class at some point. Those seats look incredibly comfortable
They're not bad on the 737's. But if you're a bigger person you won't be able to use the food trays that comes out of the armrest. Service is the same as coach but the meals are slightly better and unlimited free drinks.

5:21 haha a similar thing happened to me last month. I was supposed to take a Southwest 737 Max 8, but it was swapped to an -800 2 days prior.
As someone who works below wing for DAL, the 220s both the 100s and 300s are junk. The cabin is nice, but Canada doesn't know how to design airplanes. First the CRJs not the 220s. So you really didn't miss much not getting to fly in a 220.

Surprised FC doesn’t get you into Skyclub.
International FC and Delta One gets you access to the Sky Club. Otherwise it’s Amex Plat, Delta Reserve, or membership. I think you can choose it as a Diamond status.

Honestly deltas refreshed 319s are super nice. Way more comfortable than aa or ua 319.

Twice I booked Delta to fly the A221 and both times it got switched. Second time to the A319, not the worst change, first time was to a 20 year old filthy E170 lol.
Since you fly frequently, I'd recommend getting a premium credit card like the Capital One Venture X which gets you free Priority Pass lounge membership, and their travel credit offsets the annual fee.

Only Alaska Airlines as far as I know, gets you free access the lounge free with first class ticket. Allso into American Airline I think to there lounge. As long as you have a first class tickets.
