Kerry was an asshat in the show "Super Group" years ago. I remember watching & thinking "That guy from Slayer is an asshole!" He hasn't proved me wrong yet....
Lombardo called out King and Araya for screwing him for years, what a bunch of crap, have one of the best drummers ever, and they rip him off, sad. I assume that's why king doesnt like him, he called him out for ripping him off.
Tom doesn't miss or even like Kerry. That seems more obvious now than ever. Dave feels betrayed & why shouldn't he? Kerry might have ripped Tom off too, to be honest. Demmel, King, & Paul are made for each other. They have the same world views. Gary Holt is in that club too. The way Kerry & Demmel are treating their past band members, you'd think Kerry's little project is guaranteed to lay some massive golden egg. I think not. I'll be laughing when Mark tries singing Slayer songs on a regular basis. You KNOW it will happen.
Slayer tribute band with a actual member of Slayer. Its a song that dropped from a slayer album. The fat little bowling ball plays the same thing every time. He trashed Tom also
Hanneman was THE guitar player in Slayer, Kerry was the guy who did the interviews. Lombardo was essential, as important as Stewart Copeland was/is to The Police. The band seemed to downplay his importance, which always bugged me.
Jeff Hanneman was Slayer's primary songwriter. Slayer wouldn't be the same without him, and it wasn't after he died. Kerry rode Jeff's coattails his entire career.
Finally! Someone that includes Haunting The Chapel in a Slayer album ranking! Cue the assholes saying, bUT itS JUsT An eP... bullshit. It's the best thing they've ever done.
As far as the band goes I'm stoked that Phil Demmel and Mark are in the band. Death Angel's The Ultra-Violence was one of my main listens in 87. EDIT:That sucks that Vio-lence is falling after that EP! Eternal Nightmare was my main listen in 89. That was probably a year ago but I understand when the finances aren't there.
To me it sounds influential on not only Death Metal but second wave Black Metal. Other than Show No Mercy and Live Undead (crazy fast renditions of the early stuff) it’s my favorite
Kerry easily could’ve said “yeah me and Dave don’t talk and it’s unfortunate we had a falling out due to business disagreements but that’s life. I wish him well.” Just as Dave has done in recent years. Instead he’s gotta take the Paul & Gene rout and throw Dave under the bus to make himself look good
If I’m not mistaken Dave Lombardo was an equal member in Slayer but he decided to leave the band for a number of yrs upon his return they had him by the balls and turned him into a hired member. Like a contract worker. All the while the fans assumed he was an equal member Not a hired gun. So all the while when King Jeff and Tom were making millions off Slayer Dave would get a check for less than a 100 hundred grand.
Thanks for the shoutout my bro! Diet Slayer is gonna catch on, watch! just like Dr Fruit! lol. I hope the actual album has more input from the rest of the members, that would be cool. Kerry is basically a one trick pony but in the right environment he might thrive.. let's see! I've made a Slayer Ranking video and I'm happy to see that yours and mine my favorite album is the same!
I liked Slayer up to South Of Heaven. South Of Heaven was awesome, even though they slowed down on some tracks, still brutal though. My first concert when I just turned 15 years old was in 1985 was Venom, Slayer, Exodus, a little after Hell Awaits came out. Then I saw them at the Olympic Auditorium in 1986 when Reign In Blood came out, with D.R.I., Overkill, Bl'ast! When I saw them at the Seasons In The Abyss tour in Santa Monica, they had become an arena rock band and their sound/style was changing. When I had seen them at Ozzfest after God Hates Us All came out, I thought that show sucked. There's a bunch of fanatics that think Slayer is above criticism, but I'm being honest. Once you see Slayer in their youth prime in club settings where they played with a lot of energy, with the best music they ever composed/made, you just can't go back. These youngsters weren't there, so they can't comprehend this. Same thing with Metallica. I can only listen to them up until ..And Justice For All. IMO these bands have a certain shelf life, then they need to pack it up because they become a parody of what they once were. People argue: "Well we all grow up. They matured". Yep, exactly. That's exactly what I mean. They made their best music, and belted out the best shows, when they were younger. As the money rolls in, and they start living more posh, the music and the image declined.
Lombardo was the backbone to the all the power that was slayer! Kerry the right arm, Jeff the left arm and Tom the mouth piece! Take one away then it all turns to shit....
Show no Mercy to seasons is like the first 6 sabbath albums in that they’re so amazing it’s impossible to live up to them. And anything that follows almost can’t compare. That being said new song is good. Not early slayer good but post seasons good if roast makes sense. Favorite song chemical warfare fav album south of heaven
Usually I know and accept that lineup changes happen but original Slayer is like original Black Sabbath. If it’s not all four together then the magic isn’t there
Also, I remember coming home from trips with the parents, who I had to hide my music from for years, but I’d buy Slayer’s early stuff and got my buddies into a lot of great music. Florida was full of energy over this art! Loved it as a teen. It formed me in a lot of ways! Too much Krell? 😳 I shh! 😂❤lol
I really actually liked the first offering, and it’s been since 95 that I bought a Slayer album, as to me that’s when they went off the rails for me. My Slayer is like you, Seasons and before…but…if the rest of the album sounds that good I hear KK’s influence on it. Strong line up, and hoping to hear the rest of the album. I wish Dave was the drummer, and it pains me to see this reaction, but this was the first time ina long time I shared a track by Slayer to some…oops…I mean Diet Slayer! lol. Rock on Ralph! Schamakamagob, and thanks for your opinions! K also…I despise Eddie Trunk/Hagar no offence! Love ya Ralph!
Bad PR for a song that’s not half bad. Lombardo is appearing on everything, everywhere nowadays and has a lucrative career. STADIUM shows with The Misfits, goddamn!
I agree with your list for the most part. I like seasons the best. I think it's the first album I had and maybe a little more "polished" (for lack of a different term) I guess.
I didn't hate Idle Hands, but I just found it forgettable. I've listened to it a ton trying to get into it, and after each listen I immediately forget what it even sounds like. It just doesn't stand out at all.
I will speak for Ian here.........pop.! SLAYERRRRRRRR OH YAA 😂😂 I'm with you Ralph, seasons or under All these new legacy bands sound the same to me am I crazy and Araya had that horror scream like none other !!!!!!!! I saw a bunch of Slayer fans tear up a bus shelter once😐😐 Stay heavy !!!! Listen to the RMCP 🤟🤟🤟🤟
I dont get why King is such an asshole. All these other metal guitarists from that era are cool guys. King really isnt that good of a guitarist have an A-hole attitude. R.i.p. Jeff Hanneman.
I liked it as well. Why did people think that his new band wouldn't sound like SLAYER? Kerry King is SLAYER. Mark did an amazing job on vocals. He sounded like a young Tom Arya. I'm glad it sounded like SLAYER. I crave SLAYER everyday.
I just heard that song, and it was better than I thought it would be. Now, I am NO Kerry King fan, and I think his guitar style kinda sucks, but any time someone wants to challenge religious dogma, I'll support it. Even if it's basically playing the same sounding song for 40 years, lol. Kerr-bear, you amuse me, lol
Kerry King has always come off as a douche to me. Tom and Dave seem like better dudes than him. They absolutely screwed Dave over and that could have been handled better. Kerry's just mad that he got called out. Even Tom admitted in an interview that the business was an afterthought. The new song was just mediocre. Not bad, but just there. Love Mark and Bostaph and I'm interested in hearing the rest of the album. Anyways, ranking: 1. Show No Mercy 2. Seasons in the Abyss 3. Reign in Blood 4. Haunting the Chapel 5. South of Heaven 6. Hell Awaits 7. Repentless 8. Diabolous in Musica 9. Divine Intervention 10. World Painted Blood 11. God Hates Us All 12. Christ Illusion

There is no Slayer without Lombardo and Hanneman RIP.
Henneman was definitely the better/more important guitarist in that band.
I agree. Lombardo has such an energy, and his playing was and is outstanding!
Yup no doubt
I concur. I’m lucky to have seen the original lineup three times. Always the best of the “Big Four” live as well
Slayer tribute band with a actual member of Slayer.
Fairy King is the worst. Lombardo is 10× the musician Fairy is and they wouldn't have gotten anywhere without him. He got screwed.
Jeff Hanneman was Slayer's primary songwriter. Slayer wouldn't be the same without him, and it wasn't after he died. Kerry rode Jeff's coattails his entire career.
Drummers arent musicians.
Fairy 🤣🤣🤭🤭😀🙃🙃
Fairy king is GOLD!!
@@BillBlazejowski…… ok cupcake
The Tribal tattooed Kidney bean is great guitar shredder and that's it.
RIP Jeff Hanneman when he died Slayer died.

All Kerry does is talk shit.
Not true, he also eats shit and literally shits
Fave song is- without a doubt- Chemical Warfare !!!!!!!!!!!

He couldn't have picked a better singer. Saw Death Angel 2 years ago in Nashville with Exodus. Killer show.
I think the new song is alright. I want to hear the rest of the album.

Kunty king. And the kings of kuntery
People want dave to play with them no one want the bowling ball to play with them
Show no mercy is my favorite. "MY NAME'S TONY! I GOT SOME BACON!"

I quite liked the track Kerry King dropped recently. More than the Dave Lomardo solo album I bought recently.

That's funny...Dave Lombardo said Kerry Kings been dead to him ever since he picked up a guitar.
LOL. Mark, Demmel, etc:
Seduced by a King, paid like a pauper.
If it wasn’t for Dave there would be no slayer I’m surprised that Dave isn’t suing Kerry for slander
That’s funny considering Dave didn’t write any music.
Dave Lombardo suffered from a spider bite? Did I hear that correctly? If he did, the irony.
And Haunting the Chapel is a masterpiece!
No. That was Jeff Hanneman. Not Dave
@@almosthuman56then I definitely heard it wrong, thank you.
