Oak leaf is probably my favorite hydrangea I see them a lot at retirement communities I’ve been looking for some but they are so hard to come by I can’t find them at local nurseries Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience
I’ve been watching your videos when you were in that little shed and you look like a bundled up there and I certainly appreciate when you say his or her backyard nursery his or her. I appreciate that like when you go to the store and everybody goes hey guys how’s it gone and I look at my husband and I don’t know I’m not a guy and I appreciate you specifying that.
Thanks. How about a video on how you organize your inventory of plants and sort by age? I'm a little ADD and need all the help I can get. Enjoy your videos.
Thinking about how to do it... maybe a video on plant age, and how long it takes to get them to a sell-ready size, and how that varies greatly among plant varieties.
@@savvydirtfarmer Yes, this is what I'm looking for! I'd like to start to sell next spring, but it seems that I couldn't get anything ready in time.. Would love to see a calendar view from softwood cutting, rooting, potting, and then selling.... maybe highlight a few faster growing and a few slower growing plants.
You may have been used by the Lord to help me create a business that I have been praying for. Thank you. At 54, I have been working hard serving tables at a restaurant, and my body has been taking a beating! I bought land so no excuse not to try growing a flower nursery.
im not in the business (yet anyway) but speaking as someone who has purchased? making a note in your sales ad "this grows in shade!" or "perfect for that shady spot " or contrarily, "perfect for that Dry/wet/ sunny/shady" (basically a lot of us homeowners have a spot where its hard to grow anything... if you tell me "this will grow in that shady spot " or "this will grow in that horribly dry brutal sun spot" and i will be RIGHT THERE to buy it. i bought an oak leaf hydrangea just for my shade garden, and i dont *like* hydrangeas!
Hi. I think 🤔 that’s actually a great 😊 idea 💡!! A backyard nursery at a yard sale or putting it on Facebook market place ? Or where would you do to sell through what venue? I love 💗 and would like to propagate these limelight’s hydrangeas. If I can find some snowball hydrangeas that would be great also !!!
you sound like a Baptist minister pitching hydrangeas like salvation lmao great videos, I really have been enjoying your channel. it's very useful the way you are suggesting plants and specific named varieties 👍
AMleo.com is one source. Also, I have a local Amish nursery supply place (about 80 miles away) where I buy most of them... very cheap. Nursery supplies are usually cheaper if you can find them locally, even if that means driving a couple hours to load up.
If you buy a plant at Lowe's (for example), there will be a tag on the plant with information about growing/care. Also, if the plant is patented, it will say "PP# 19,328" or "PPAF" or some other note about "asexual reproduction prohibited." It's usually very easy to see. Also, if you are ordering small plants from a wholesale nursery, it is noted on their availability/order sheets.
oh my gosh. I though you were going to talk about lonicera japonica for some reason, because of the medicinal properties and everyone has it growing in their yard. 🤣🤣🤣
Hydrangeas are an awesome plant for any backyard grower! Easy to propagate, easy to grow, and, people love to buy ‘em.

These are the next plants i want to add to the landscape and propagate. Thanks for sharing!

I use "guys" generically... most of my videos have something like "hey guys..." at the beginning.. it just means "yall."

Every plant has an info card, with picture, that has all the pertinent growing info on it.

A hydrangea evangelist, maybe?
Where do you get your pots at? And how much do you get them for?

Will they grow in Central Florida?
Check your zone for hardiness for any plant.
Where art you located? I need about a 100 plants. Have about 1 and 1/2 acre yard and need many. Only have about 20 plus now.
Zone 7, West TN
You are easily within driving distance from me in north Alabama. Could you send me a list of what you have available with price, please? Thanks
How do you know if a plant is patent or not so you know you can propagate the plant?

@@savvydirtfarmer thank you so much I am assuming if it has a patent number then you are not supposed to propagate?
@@brandonhunt1414 Correct. Patented plants are protected for 20 years from the date the patent is filed.
Do a pricing video
Is the $9 plant a one gallon?
Yes. I normally sell my 1 gallon hydrangeas for $9.
@@savvydirtfarmer do you sell online also??
@@aakankshagaur5990 I do not sell online.
Do you have any experience about importing plants from Asia or Pakistan
No. Sorry

I don’t do “medicinal” plants. Too much weirdness surrounding that world for me.
Can you sell me some clippings ? I love your video and Hydrangeas!
They'd be dead by the time they got to you! But, thanks for asking.
How old are the plants you sell for 9 dollars?
The answer is always, "it depends," but generally 2 years.
@@savvydirtfarmer thats what i needed thanks!
