I had just treated myself to the same hydrangea and of course I got it not knowing where I could squeeze this in my tiny back yard. Spent a few days sizing it up and trying to decide where it should go and how much space I needed at full maturity. I don’t fully believe in the tag. To kill some time I decided to turn on RUclips and there was Laura with a recap. Couldn’t be more perfect. Thank you!

I call mine my Diva's. When it gets very hot they wilt even though I know they've had plenty of water.... So dramatic... I always think of them as a group of Southern Aunties all dolled up for a summer party and complaining about the heat... then evening rolls around and they spring back. Drama Queens. I love them so.

Love it!! She mentioned a second drip for daily watering… I have mine in full sun and they didn’t get enough water. Wilted then lost some leaves. Still going through transplant shock probably but wondering what time of day she sets that timer for their own drip? Mid day? With drip I worry the heat of the water in the irrigation tubing would stress the already wilting plant.

I know that this post is 2 years old but I'm sure hoping you see this. I've got a question regarding the hydrangeas. I'm in 7a and am so afraid of planting hydrangeas. Are yours in full sun? Are they protected from the hottest part of the day? My house faces south so much of my yard is full sun. I do have some trees that I can plant them under but it wouldn't be the ideal placement. Anyway, I'm just hoping to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks for your help in advance! 🙂

Great update! From a "damaged rescue" to that beauty--WOW! Many of us scour the bargain rack for cheap plants needing rescue. Our local 'big box' had plants for $1-$3-$5 recently...too good to pass up when on a strict budget in these trying times. I would love to see a video series about how to best make them thrive--would probably REALLY help us all. Maybe a "damage" garden you could walk us through? Take whatever you can find on sale, then nurse them to life? Thanks for all you teach us! :)

My incrediballs get morning sun and one group gets hot afternoon and evening sun they are on drip also. The Bobos get full sun and drip twice a day. My soil is red clay but not rocky don’t you love the Bobos! Hope you have great success with yours.

@@grammykeatley9944 thanks so much for your reply. I may have to move my BoBo to a sunnier location. It’s struggling, but hanging in there. I do want to plant more this fall. All the best.
