Best channel on YT. I look forward every Sunday morning to get an in-depth look into your adventures! Your style of editing and creating a storyline are second to none. Thank you!! See ya next Sunday!! Much ❤️ and stay safe!!
So exciting to go everywhere... An then life on the water isn't easy for sure... With lil Surprises like the fuel leak. Kids getting so big.. Thanks for sharing your lives with us ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Great Video! A proper filet knife and a kevlar cut glove is need for sure. Nothing like needing 17 stitches far from help. You are very inspiring to us all.
You had your rod and reel backwards while reeling in. He was using like a Surf casting rod. Also If Bradon is a lefty some reels are built for lefties and some can be universal and switched to be used by lefties. Good luck on your fishing and nice Mahi.
SO funny that you guys were telling each other you didn't know what to do about the fish on! THROTTLE BACK!!! Thats why sportfish back down on fish, it makes it so much easier to reel them in and land the fish. Gad you landed it! ENJOY!!!
pull back way back then LOWER POLE REALLY QUICK WHILE REELING IN REALLY QUICK... you prolly should practice that a little bit... and get a harness... do you have a rock climbing or kite harness??? or at LEAST the safety harness for rough seas..... HOOK SELF TO BOAT even if the ROD is not hooked to boat... THEN DEAL WITH FISHIE.... BUT..... you really don't want fishy to yank pole into water, you REALLY REALLY don't want fishie to yank both POLE *AND* YOU into water either!!! but yes... tell buddy boat on radio ""FISH ON THROTTLING BACK"" and ''SEA KEEP'' or barely go forward on current till you get the fish nearER to back of boat... then neutral WITH ANNOUNCMENT ON RADIO or with HORNS or wutever signaling a STOPPPING NOW action....... anyhow ANNOUNCE YOUR INTENT so they ain't mind reading ;) ;) winkwinknudgenudge
Another idea on the fishing Rod debacle. (Just what you need) Keep the reel dump the rod. Next time your near a big US city, stop in a big fishing store or Amazon order a salt water rod, instead of a rod with stagnant guides buy one with roller (guides) This allows a righty’s or lefties to use the same rod. Ps I’m righty and have always reeled with my right hand. I’m not ambidextrous my left hand/arm have more than enough strength. Fishing used to fun, I enjoyed it because of the piece of mind or break from other things going on in my life, I didn’t recognize how calming it was for years.
When you catch a mahi-mahi slow the boat down and put out a couple of more rods because usually when you have one on the line it brings in their buddies. You can catch 4 or 5 in one place they are not alone. Enjoyed the video!
Pretty impressed about your dedication to respond to all our comments (and your cliche “a boaters life is written in the sand at low tide”)…. I use it all the time (not just on the boat) use it often as so many things in life change unexpectedly. Great work Brooke (and Braden, who doesn’t like cleaning windows). 😝
Thank you sharing another lovely video just saying in passing if you don’t mind a drop of white vinegar in the bucket with the water help clean the windows stay safe x
Congrats on the mahi nice catch. I'm sure you saw the comments about the rod and reel. There are also large spinning reels that are usually easier to use for not everyday fishermen. Good luck next time. Love the videos
Your videos just get better hey ?? Brayden strip the line off the real then feed it on the other way turn the real so you reel with ur right hand clockwise rather than anti i think it will help. PS Great fish 😉♥️
We live a couple of miles from Port Canaveral. The cruise ships stayed out of the ports this whole time to not have to pay port fees. They came in like once a week so their employees could do some shopping, etc….that’s why they were sitting there. Sad that you’re done for the season….looking forward to new adventures!
BTW - Anything and everything you want and need to know about fishing itself, reeling in a fish, and filleting a fish and cooking fish is posted on the same video platform you post your videos...just say Good lucking
Last time I saw Chub Cay was early 2000's, it is nice to see places I have been as they are currently. I never caught anything fishing on the banks except Barracuda. Bahamian's will eat them, I won't, though it would probably be safe on the banks. Tuna in the gulf stream is a definite possibility.
I like the comment below about what u need to do regarding your fishing technique. There's also a lot of videos on RUclips u can watch on how to reel em in. Another fun thing would be to do a collaboration with a RUclips fishing channel...they could show u the ropes, maybe critique your video (it would be priceless) and u would get some great content out of it. Ooh...and while you have lines out u def want to go slower. Speed depends on what you're trying to catch but def don't want to go top speed.
Braden, as some others have said, get a reel setup for a southpaw, that'll help loads. Another technique is "pump and reel", raise the tip of the rod without reeling in, then reel in _FAST_ as you lower the tip back down. Number 3 on the fishing, drop the boat back down to an idle when you're reeling in a big one like that Mahi! I _think_ Adventures Of A Lifetime on "Encore" was a bit ahead of you on that crossing, that's if that partially sunken boat is the same one they had on a recent video. It looked like some people (hopefully the owners) were salvaging (scavenging) everything off of it when they went by.
Congrats nice catch, so happy y'all landed it. Nothing like fresh fish. Catch it clean it and 2 hours later your eating it... LOL... Much love and prayers be blessed beyond measure in Jesus name... BBE..
Braden, my Granddad would tell me I was the worst fisherman her ever saw, but I am passing that honor over to you. Don't worry, soon you'll be a master. You know what they say, "give a man some fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in the boat all day drinkin' beer." Congrats on the Mahi....it's a beauty. I enjoyed another day at sea with y'all.
Brooke I think if you guys went on a fishing charter it would pay back in dividends from the experience you guys could gain fishing. Anyway love the channel a keep up the content!
I’m making Monday morning a late start as I need my “Monster” morning coffee fix. Australia is about 8hrs behind. It’s become habit so please don’t stop 😝 As for fishing, it’s all been said except, knife up the gills to bleed the fish, which stops the blood mixing with the fish meat. Cheers you guys. Keep up the great work.
Braden -- based on how you were reeling in the mahi, it looks like you're left handed. If so, the problem is that you're using a right handed reel, which is why you end up with rod and reel being turned upside down, making it difficult to reel in and adjusting the drag quite awkward. Simple fix: buy some left handed reels. Thanks for another great episode.
Fishing rod blanks have a sidedness to them. Flipping the rod upside down will definitely increase the possibility of snapping the rod! I have a solution though! Take me with you and I will definitely teach you how to troll and use a fishing rod! :)
I didn’t think you could fish after you checked out of the country. I was under the impression that once checked out you can’t fish the Bahamaian waters and the US has rules about what fish can be brought back in the US.

I've noticed that you do most of your navigation and piloting from the lower helm. Is that bc you have fewer navigational aids/equipment on the upper helm, perhaps a safety issue for your kids? Just wondering.

Not to be 'that guy' ... but if I could offer some fishing advice; First, buy a quality belt with socket to plant that rod to fight the fish when you hook up. You can find them in any bait store. Also stop the boat to fight / land him. It makes a yuge difference in your % landing fish. An easy fix for lefty reel issue is to buy a quality large/heavy spinning reel. You want one that will handle at least 400yds of 50# Ande line... more is better. The main advantage of a spinning reel is that by design the handle is easily switchable to the left or right side so anyone can use it.
