Keep those kids on the boat as long as you can! You are giving them riches they will appreciate in their later years. As one born and raised on our family boat I can tell you the boating childhood is far superior to landlocked kids and all the trash that goes with it. You are giving them a life lasting gift of experiences!
I worked for three weeks offshore of Galveston, Texas, on a 65 foot shrimp trawler. We never saw land for three weeks, and never stopped pulling the nets except when emptying them of shrimp, and whatever else we caught. As we threw shrimp trash, small fish, etc. off the boat the porpoise would follow the back of the boat looking for easy food. The porpoise would jump out of the air, do flips and spins, just like you see in Sea World. I previously thought they were trained to do these "tricks", but it must be natural play time to them. This was a very interesting and entertaining episode. I see Branden has a dry sense of humor. I like it. Thanks for taking time for "us".
Cool new episode! Cool porpoises off the bow!! Awesome! I used to give my kids chores if they said they did not know what to do.. Hehe put them to work polishing brightwork :)
Glad to have you back great parents great kids sometime I wonder what's wrong with people but I love your channel it's real it's authentic and you give those kids unconditional love always Freddie
Braden as you probably already know the duckbill valves are just a one way valve. On our boat we removed them and replaced them with an inline one way valve that you can purchase in the hardware store plumbing department. I have no idea how much bigger your system is than ours but we also have a screen that catches all that hair. We clean it out once a week. Safe journeys!
Really enjoyed the show you always have the nice thoughts very interesting the way you see your traveling ways through your eyes thank you for your adventure
Oh, as for communication you might want to look into Starlink. Not sure if they have a domed antenna yet but I heard they were working on it. The current equipment package is $500 and another $100 a month for access. But you will get phone on internet t.v. and all other internet services.
Braden, first, so glad that was a grey water tank pump and not a black water pump! I got so good changing duck bills and repairing vacuflush toilets that I think I could have done it blindfolded. I enjoyed it so much that on the new boat, we’ve gone with macerator toilets - fewer moving parts and NO DUCKBILLS! Love the videos and glad to have comments available. Safe travels!
You simply make my Sunday mornings special. Thank you!! FYI…. dolphins are an extremely social animal. They have many reasons to “follow” a boat in motion. First being food. They’ve learned humans on boats will normally discard food overboard, especially fishing trawlers and being your boat has a deep draft, the vibrations it creates mimics a fishing trawler. They also use the boats wake to help them along their way. They use less energy by “surfing”. As I stated, they’re extremely intelligent animals and as such enjoy “playtime” and revel in “showing off”!! It gives them the opportunity to strut their stuff among other members of the pod and as such, you get to enjoy their majesty!! Tell Braden he was right on point about his ships hull theory. I find it amazing how the vibration generated attracts such a beautiful animal. Be safe and much ❤️. PS…. You should have told him Captain was at the helm!! 😉
Braden, add to your electronics "wish list" a KVH satellite internet dome. That will help with the "stir crazies" on extended passages like this and also let you get updated weather information more often. Plus it would add in another communications channel in case you need to get in touch with people. Your helm instrumentation has almost the level of redundancy of the new Bering yachts I've seen reviews on, too bad their SMALLEST boat is over 70 feet, and several million bucks!
@@tripplefivedistribution3850 several hundred per month for bare bones service to receive small files to 10’s of thousands per month for speeds that on land would be considered slow. @@briand.4427 Agreed. When I think of all the offshore satellite service companies today (KVH, Dish, Viasat, etc), I can't even begin to imagine how much they must be fretting over the growth of the Starlink constellation.
