Hi. I just bought my '24 CX5-carbon edition. Just hit bullseye in every of my expectations. Just retired and wanted a sporty SUV to enjoy sightseeing in my beautiful Puerto Rico. Our other car is my beloved '17 Passat Rline... The CX is a beauty, rides prime and the AWD let you feel secure and in control. Full of features and excelent quality, fit and finishes.
As an owner of a CX-8 (stretched CX-5 sold in Japan/Australia and other APAC markets), I initially was reserved about the non touchscreen. But after living with it, I would not go back to touch (although Mazda should give an option). The reason is simple. With the command knob you can select most things by muscle memory while looking at the road. And even when there are many scrolls, it require no dexterity whilst using the touchscreen requires both dexterity and taking eyes off the road. So basically if you haven’t lived with system it sounds terrible but living with it’s good. The steering hasn’t always been vague off centre. Sounds very unlike Mazda. But worth noting various countries have different steering tune. The US tune was done in the US by Mazda USA from US feedback. The Australian tune and Japanese tune are different but both have no vague centre.
Ouch! The Micah of suv’s. Both you and the CX5 still rock! That being said, I was given a loaner CX50 and loved it. Now, I just need to convince my wife that that is her next car.
My CX-5 (2019) is as reliable as it gets, really comfortable, and I do not find any issues with the steering feedback at all. And I’ve owned VW GolfGTi, Audi A3 turbos and a BMW 3-series. The looks definitely have aged well, and the interior quality and look is awesome.
This vehicle has aged so well. I think they could pull a Subaru and just tweak and streamline the design and people would be happy. It’s a full 6” shorter than the CX-50 so I think they could keep both around. Maybe continue on with the compact size on the CX-5.
I just bought a CX5 last month, the same polymetal gray. Quite satisfied and enough for a family car. Because it is made in Japan, the tax rate for imported cars in Taiwan is really high, about 60%. So I spent about 35,000 dollars on the car I bought a CX5 2.0, which is quite close to the annual salary for a whole year. The annual insurance and taxes are about 1,500 US dollars. I don’t know whether it is high or low.

I think this is a beautiful car, inside and out. No wonder it's a best seller for the brand. However, when driving these, I've never been able to get comfortable in the front seats. They are too hard and the lower cushion feels like it tapers off too abruptly , providing inadequate support for my thighs. I feel the cushion needs to come out closer to the back of my knee. Moving to LA, I was considering a CRV or RAV4 Hybrid. But I really like the Mazda CX5. Am I a fool for thinking Hybrid might suit me long run living in LA or justified in that thinking, thus eliminating the CX5 as an option
Can't speak for the bigger/heavier CX-5, but the same non-turbo 2.5L engine in my smaller/sleeker 2022 CX-30 Carbon is plenty fine, & no worries about the more troublesome nature & reliability issues of a turbo engine in-genera, as well as the gutted MPG a turbo brings.
@@dystopia-usaThe cx30 is 350-400 lbs less than CX-5 so NA 2.5 engine is fine. But on the CX-5 only the turbo will do. It's simply amazing with the turbo.
The only two MAJOR problems with the CX-5 is the lack interior room and lack of good outward visibility. If they can just raise the roof two inches (2") and make it slighty more boxy - that should fix those problems.. But Mazda should keep everything else exacty the same!!! Especially keep the more traditional dashboard and traditional shifter.
I'm just shocked as to why there still isn't a hybrid CX-5 using the RAV4 hybrid system. I know the CX-50 is getting it, but not until like late 2024. I'll be dead by then. I do wish the CX-5 headliner was black, especially in this Carbon trim. All headliner should just be black or dark grey at least. Tan headliner is a sin.
Because Toyota can’t produce enough hybrids for themselves let alone for another manufacturer. That’s the same reason the hybrid 50 keeps getting delayed.
Slowly, slowly, slowly... the Japanese manufacturers are realizing that touchscreens are just better. First Lexus gave up on the touchpad, now Mazda is allowing touch... Maybe Acura next? 😸
not for everyone though.. here in australia touching the phone or the car console while driving is strictly prohibited... maybe thats why cx5 here is the best selling suv... once u get the hang of the rotary dial ull never go back with touchscreen.. i also hate the touchscreen for ac and other stuff using a touch botton is easier and much more convinient
car is diff to a phone touchscreen on ac is distracting for driving as there is too much to steps to go to on or off or to just adjust ... while dial is just one touch and u already know that its there..
I really like the CX5.....but... I find it mildly off putting to see them without the roof rails. Was behind both at a stop light recently and can't sort out why the naked roof disturbs me 🤔 I think that should be a feature if you call yourself an SUV. .....try to imagine a CX50 without a rack?.....see what I mean?

Moving to LA, I was considering a CRV or RAV4 Hybrid. But I really like the Mazda CX5. Am I a fool for thinking Hybrid might suit me long run living in LA or justified in that thinking, thus eliminating the CX5 as an option
great color on the car, especially with those seats
The Mazda CX-5 is kind of looking old, only small changes and no hybrid...I do like the lack of hard plastics.
Is there a video where the camera does not stop working? 😂😂😂
GoPro fail again 🙄
I think it’s time you found a system that’s more reliable.
Still, love your family reviews 👍
high pitch noise from transmission at 70-90km/hr
I’m debating between this and the bronco sport any suggestions anyone
Your reviews are always great Funny mist reviewers if SUVs are by people that don't have a family so they don't need an SUV.

I think there is a setting buried in the newer models to enable the touch screen while driving
No turbo?
Mazda realized the cx 50 didn't sell that much, i for one doesn't like the cx 50, they over did that so thanks for sticking the cx5 around
To any of the automobile manufacturers out there...No more shiny, hard, black plastic!!! No. More.
I’m tired of my CX 5 after a year. I had a 2018 hatchback with the same interior it’s old already
Real world MPG?
Go back to GoPro 7 black. Last stable camera from them. Works great with helicopter audio USB-c adapter.
Right?!? I really wish GoPro would prioritize stability over flashy specs. Every shoot is game of failure roulette.
@@MicahMuzio Definitely, been thinking about making the jump to a dji. No idea about audio input compatibly. Insta for 360s, their app seems amazing.
I can’t imagine buying one of these without the turbo engine.
Please give a review for 2023 Nissan Rogue.
Who said they were canceling it? The news is it will be redesigned in 2025.
Love my cx5 select
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
It's definitely more fun and polished than driving the Rav-4 or Forrester.
for sure! I just don't like the cx5's infotainment screen(not a touchscreen btw) and the cargo space.
Mazda all the way
yeah but the 50 is made in the U.S.A (crap), while the 5 is still manufactured in Japan (high quality)
My 2023 CX-5 turbo has black interior including headliner. It's very nice.
Is there space in the CX5 chassis for a hybrid system?
Pls do the cx-90 soon
Slowly, slowly, slowly... the Japanese manufacturers are realizing that touchscreens are just better.
First Lexus gave up on the touchpad, now Mazda is allowing touch... Maybe Acura next? 😸
not for everyone though.. here in australia touching the phone or the car console while driving is strictly prohibited... maybe thats why cx5 here is the best selling suv... once u get the hang of the rotary dial ull never go back with touchscreen.. i also hate the touchscreen for ac and other stuff using a touch botton is easier and much more convinient
@@l4ndz3r Would you prefer a dial interface for your phone?
car is diff to a phone touchscreen on ac is distracting for driving as there is too much to steps to go to on or off or to just adjust ... while dial is just one touch and u already know that its there..
I wanna be a cool dad like that. Very seldom you that around now.
I really like the CX5.....but...
I find it mildly off putting to see them without
the roof rails. Was behind both at a stop light recently
and can't sort out why the naked roof disturbs me 🤔
I think that should be a feature if you call yourself an SUV.
.....try to imagine a CX50 without a rack?.....see what I mean?
The headliner should be black
sorry, the sponsorships are getting out of hand.
I really like Micah.
I colors for thecinterior, but not this one or this combination.
I wonder if she's old enough to start charging royalties.
Dlaczego masz t-shirt i czapkę na głowie?xD
Needs an all digital dash.
The red seats do NOT go with the blue exterior...yikes
In real life, seats not as bright red and not as blue exterior as seen in video. Strange how the camera distorts these colors.
@@robf.5276 thanks for the insight. Mazda design and any SUVs are not my first choice anyway
It’s not for everyone. I love my red leathers CE
Is she older than you
