What helps a ton in saving Components is either, as the video man said, limit the electric versions of crafting stations or disconnect them between uses. They tick a timer to randomly break down not when used, but powered so if your tailor went to bed turn it off by connecting it to unpowered conduit or without cheesing use the switch off order and wait for some pawn to do it. Wood stove doesn't cost components and also doesn't ever break down! I never used it, because I thought it's just inferior version when I have researched electricity, but until Fabrication or at least first allied outlander faction regular variants are simply better. Limit temperature regulation, use vents whenever possible, bunch up your freezers with other freezers and vice versa. Build the rooms smaller so you don't need multiple of them, expand later when you start needing it. Do NOT build wind turbines, solar panels or batteries, ever! They all consume components just for existing and provide mere fraction of their alternatives. Use Chemfuel generators or Geothermal generators if you can afford researching them early. Both are consistent so zero need for batteries which are extremely component hungry. Tame Boomalopes for free Chemfuel or research the Chemfuel refinery to turn raiders, bugs or excess food into Chemfuel. 1 generator providing 1000W should be enough for all essentials.
okay so asking before i do somthing stupid i have the vfe mechanoids and have a decent base but im running low on steel so i thought about a automated steel setup but dont know for sure if it drops components since there special mechanoid components the reason this matters is because i just had my second frigate land and im not on reload anytime also for anothe rway of components there are three machines in VFE mechanoids that can create an automated component assembler anyway thanks for the quality vids keep it up man
Hey Sem! A good way to get more steel is by using deep drilling, and you can use it + a the fabrication bench to produce lots of components :). I did have VFE mechanoids mod installed but I hadn't played with it very much so I'm not to sure but It sounds really cool though :), I think I will have to learn more about it :) Thanks for the feedback mate, I will keep more vids coming for sure :)

Even at the hardest difficulty, there's always enough components on the map to keep you going until you get a fabrication bench. And that includes using them for turrets
The lights (i think they're lights?) at 0:20 around the tree. What mod adds those? Those are the lights I was asking about on the newest vid. Should've posted the question here from the start. lol

Prepare Carefully is really buggy and digs into the coding very aggressively. Most of the time, big bugs start ripping the code near mid to end game. Don't use it, use character editor or an alternative instead!
I rush research to the fabrication bench then send one guy out alone on another tile. he need crafting 8 and mining. make cheap base setup mine all the steel then craft components for 12 steel. components are light weight for caravan so its best to produce there and not carry the steel home. the map switching is kinda annoying tho and bad for performance.
That is a good to get some components without stripping your tile of all it's steel, but I can see how it would be bad for performance, do you use any performance mods to help rimworld run better?
@@tapejara1507 There is a mod called rocketman along with two other good ones. Leave it to humanity to optimize the fun out of the game haha! (I'm guilty of this)

man I wish I knew these stuff before, thank you!
No worries mate, Glad to be of help :)
The most efficient way is still taming a herd of muffalos, then get they wool and move in a caravan to sell it.
They even breed while underway.
That makes you more noticeable and can lead to bigger raids early on
Thanks for the vid 🙏🏻🙏🏻

yeah for sure, just gotta make sure you dont waste them at the start :P
