Imagine if all the great moments in life were followed by a ding-ding-ding-ding! and the Price Is Right theme song... Get the job you were wanting... 4:52 Wife says yes to you proposing... 4:52 Favorite sports team wins the championship... 4:52 Sorry, having too much fun with this. Good story and a good guy to win.
The success of #PIR is not about the stuff, or the advertisement, or even the hosts; it is about the joy of seeing another human being on top--even for a few minutes. #Humanity in all of us.
I love watching a person win. Two years ago, I went to a raffle that had all kinds of stuff and a $6000 ATV with a trailer. Tickets were $15@ and they were running low on them. So I bought 4 more for friends that were running late. One of my buddies won the ATV. I was so happy. He really needed something good to come along. Ken was able to sell it for $5k the next day and pay off a bunch of dept.
I love watching when people win that you can tell really are so greteful . Sometimes those with the attitude annoy me and I'm glad when they lose. I get a kick out of Drew. I was watching when he was on star search and I've been a fan ever since. He's worth more than 150 million but he's still the same funny nice guy he was way back then.
The keys are actually functional. Inside of the keys are spaces for magnets. Notice how there are three prongs at the end of each key, and three locks to unlock. The locks will open if the magnet from the key lines up. If not, the buzzer will sound instead. The dud key will have no magnets at all and therefore not open any of the locks. The master key has three magnets, one in each prong so it will work in all of the locks. The other three keys each have one magnet in different wrongs.
Man still can't believe it's been nearly 6 years since this episode aired time flies man. I remember this episode like it was like yesterday. The Big Homie Treville man great story man to reunited with your long-lost brothers that you did not see in 30 years. What a lucky win Big Homie. First you got the WORST key & the BEST key after lucky. Well deserved man... Now you have a great Memorable story to tell your long-lost brothers that you won a Car on The Price Is Right on a Memorable win on Master Key. Again well deserved man to The Big Homie Treville.
The "unlocking" mechanism for the prizes is controlled by the position of magnets in the keys. The three single-prize keys have one magnet each, all in different spots; the master key has magnets in all three spots; and the "dud" key has no magnets.
stephieirene1 I think it has a lot to do with the fact that losing that much weight probably gave him a *massive* energy boost. You just have way more energy when you are more in-shape and you feel a lot better physically and mentally, in general. It really did wonders for him and he's a fantastic host now.
Actually, if you get 2 keys, you actually have a 70% chance of winning the car (There are ten combinations of taking 2 of 5 keys. Seven of those ten combinations have one of the two keys that can win the car).
Yep. That is memorable. Getting both the key that doesn't open anything then the second being the master key. Good thing key that didn't open anything first or else the second key may not have been the master key and opened only one of those 3 prizes but hoped it would've been the car
I think the dispenser is for people who make whip cream or can put the container of whip cream in there. It might have a pump on the bottle to push air inside for pressure to push the whip cream out the nozzle. That's just my guess, i never had one of those before so i don't exactly know what it does.
@dstebbin The contestant made the announcement how he hasn't seen his relatives in 3 decades (if I understood right) and that he's going to be coming to KC to see them. The problem would be because he didn't have the money and/or proper transportation to make it there. Ironically, he wins a car which will make it that much easier to see them. That would probably be the memorable moment.
Two things ... 1) the part before the game begins where Trevell tells Drew he's about to be reunited with his long-lost brothers (hadn't seen them for 30 years) ... 2) Having the "dud" key open nothing before finding the other key was the "Master Key" to win ALL of the prizes.
Very happy for this contestant after finding a "dud" key and his other key ends up being a master key, which doesn't usually happen. Does anyone know if he ended up winning the Showcase?
actually it's the monitors that show what people at home see. They are looking to see if they are on TV. Notice that when they realize they are on camera they get more excited
Not sure where people are getting these numbers from :/ If people are bringing up the probability of guessing the prices, you have to also take into account the chance of him being picked (which is obviously not 1 in 4) and the chance of him guessing right is not 50% because it is an educated and systematic guess. I would say in this game it's more of an obvious guess. The dispenser is obviously not $42 :P If he has already won both keys: the chance of him winning the car is 70%. (7 out of 10 combinations) the chance of him choosing the dud key, then the master key, in that order is 5%. Of course there is slight chance in guessing the prices, but that varies person to person and show to show too much to be calculated.
That sounds about right-just like in 3 Strikes the rules were modified in the late 90's (Barker's Era) to only have one strike in the bag to increase the odds of winning, but in (Carey's Era) they seem to have reverted back to the original rules of 3 strikes in the bag again!!!
The chances of getting the key that opens nothing and the master key together is only 10%. Perhaps this is the memorable part. Plus, you obviously need to get guess the prices of the items correctly in order be able to select 2 keys, which actually reduces the chances of this happening even further.
Well, it's 50% if you guess randomly. If you prefer, we could say the odds vary between 37.5% and 70%. The first number being for someone who never entered a shop, and the second for someone who taped every TPIR episode and knows all prices by heart :)
Notice here Drew asks the contestant which keys they want, they tell him and he (Drew) gets the keys, as opposed to when Bob was still hosting (IOW, the contestants picked the keys themselves).
+barber215 I'm in training for locksmithing, and even my trainer can't tell by sight which one is the master key. Does a locksmith have unfair knowledge that would help in this game?
+Alan Bishop lol like I said, the actual physical keys are identical. which hanging key "opens" which lock is determined beforehand and the guy behind the prop knows which prize is supposed to be activated with each key
I would disagree with that, but maybe I'm wrong. Due to the word limit I'm gonna use the opposite way. There are 5 keys. First Pick: 3/5 odds to pick a "Bad key". 2nd Pick: 2/4 odds to pick a "bad key" = 0,6*0,5 = 0,3 = 30% possibility NOT to pick the car or the master key. Wich means (1-0,3 =0,7 ) = 70% possibility to pick a key that opens the car.
cpz1019 No, he talks too much, he is not funny but he thinks he is, he routes for everyone that's spinning the wheel, he proves that the game is not rigged now. lts not a carnival with ripoff games drew. l wish someone who is an out of work comedian could take over because this turkey has too much money as it is. There is a lot of comedians who could do a way better job than him. Too bad Wayne Brady does let's make a deal, because he is a true comedian and him and John make the show.
Well, the odds of this happening is actually 10% (2/5 odds of picking either master/loser key * 1/4 odds of picking the other key= 2/20 = 1/10) then again; its the odds of any of the available two key outcomes of happening. but; it makes it rare the involved combination is the loser key; and the master key
I love how the contestants actually ask the audience which key to choose.
Imagine if all the great moments in life were followed by a ding-ding-ding-ding! and the Price Is Right theme song...
Get the job you were wanting... 4:52

Sorry, having too much fun with this. Good story and a good guy to win.
Brandon
Yes...the Price is Right song just makes one feel happy!
Brandon and ISIS was destroyed by Elsa!........7:20
Can U Get The Master Key ....? ? ?
Yeah it would be nice for the first ten years but by the time a person retires the only way out would be death!
Brandon no. Comment

I love the genuine hugs Drew gives the contestants

Fine Collectibles Never thought about that.
Huh. That's clever!

He was very blessed found siblings an won car to go see them. ENJOY UR FAMILY WE ONLY LIVE ONCE👍✌💞🙏
Great job on the key that opened it all. Awesome.
I think the real question here, is how can you NOT love the Price is Right?!
Comeback of the century
It is nice to see this especially with the guy's story. I wonder if he drove the new car to go see his brothers :)
The amount of taxes he has to pay on that car, depending on state he lives it may cost more, I bet he sold it.
Probably. But at least he won.
This was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! That’s insane!!
Could we bottle this gentleman’s exuberance?
He is adorable.
yes I love when good nice people win!
Maybe it wasn't memorable for us, but I'm betting by the looks of this mans reaction to winning, it sure was to him! Happy to see him win!
The power of positive thinking
Too good to grab a key himself, even after Drew told him to go grab a key.
All of those Prismacolors are mouthwatering.
Well, I now know that Flexsteel are America's seating specialist...never heard of them before
Made here in Starkville, MS
Flexsteel has always been top notch stuff!
price is right is the greatest game show on tv
Every time I watch this, the contestants always manage to pick the key that opens NOTHING!
4:08
Why'd Drew hiss that one out? XD
Maybe losing weight made Drew a better host, because he had no energy here, and he's so much better now!
I don't know why he did it, but I think perhaps an unintended consequence was that it made him a better host for sure. I'm glad he was able to do it.
stephieirene1 I think it has a lot to do with the fact that losing that much weight probably gave him a *massive* energy boost. You just have way more energy when you are more in-shape and you feel a lot better physically and mentally, in general. It really did wonders for him and he's a fantastic host now.
***** He had a HEART ATTACK. So he HAD to either lose weight or risk dying. Mortality is the best motivation!
+TheoryGuy83 w--'#×××#0
stephieirene1 Now he has too much energy getting mixed up when he is talking too much, tries to make stupid jokes that HE only laughs at. He SUCKS!
It's magnets. They know which key operates what but it's magnets that trigger the release and is quite well documented.
Actually, if you get 2 keys, you actually have a 70% chance of winning the car (There are ten combinations of taking 2 of 5 keys. Seven of those ten combinations have one of the two keys that can win the car).
He gets the key that opens NOTHING & he got the key that opens EVERYTHING
"it's a new CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRt"
Haha! I actually came to the comments just to see if someone said exactly this. Thanks!
I like the way he dances over to the locks with the keys.
So, when you win a vechile..how do you get it back to your destination.about insurance an other stuff?
Yep. That is memorable. Getting both the key that doesn't open anything then the second being the master key. Good thing key that didn't open anything first or else the second key may not have been the master key and opened only one of those 3 prizes but hoped it would've been the car
Yes, he did try the first key in all 3 prizes. Re-watch the video.
I think the dispenser is for people who make whip cream or can put the container of whip cream in there. It might have a pump on the bottle to push air inside for pressure to push the whip cream out the nozzle. That's just my guess, i never had one of those before so i don't exactly know what it does.
So usually people look at the audience for help on the prices, but I liked when he looked for help on the keys. It really doesn't matter.
CONGRATULATIONS!! I wonder if he won the Showcase as well?,
GEEEEEZ this was on 10 years ago. Time is flying by waaaaay to fast.
I love it when they win and jump around
its a new caaAAAArrr
Abyssal Syndicate as opposed to it a hunk of junk
A new cAAAartsupplies!
Also, showing the turntable coming around to reveal the pricing game. A classic touch returning with this new director!

I KNEW WHAT KEY IT WAS!!! THUMBS UP GREAT VIDEO
Very happy for this contestant after finding a "dud" key and his other key ends up being a master key, which doesn't usually happen.
Does anyone know if he ended up winning the Showcase?
Awesome win
this is the first time the DUD KEY and the MASTER KEY are drawn at the same time
actually it's the monitors that show what people at home see. They are looking to see if they are on TV. Notice that when they realize they are on camera they get more excited
Congrats man
I would love those art supplies
What made it a master key different from the rest of the keys? A magnet inside the key? A remote? All those keys had the same design.
Not sure where people are getting these numbers from :/ If people are bringing up the probability of guessing the prices, you have to also take into account the chance of him being picked (which is obviously not 1 in 4) and the chance of him guessing right is not 50% because it is an educated and systematic guess. Nothings worst then getting the Dead Key!
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'll show myself out now😔😁😁😁😁😁😁
That sounds about right-just like in 3 Strikes the rules were modified in the late 90's (Barker's Era) to only have one strike in the bag to increase the odds of winning, but in (Carey's Era) they seem to have reverted back to the original rules of 3 strikes in the bag again!!!
Why didn’t Rich say, “You can drive to Kansas City to say hello to your brothers IN YOUR BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!”
Wonder how the trip to Kansas City went with him meeting his brothers.
That awkward moment when the whale is sitting next to the tick figure.
3:47 omfg he did the peewee herman dance. This guy is a legend.
I wouldn't say no to those art supplies :D
Nice to here the BIG BANANA theme.
That actually makes sense. Cool to know
Moo 🐮
Good to hear 'em using "The Big Banana" as cue music again!
Seeing that Rich is the announcer and Drew is fat it's the 37th season
+Taz Not to mention the fact that the car is a fucking Pontiac. 😒
The chances of getting the key that opens nothing and the master key together is only 10%. Perhaps this is the memorable part. Wtf, 4:07

How lucky he got the masterkey after the useless one ! Congrats so happy for him.
Notice here Drew asks the contestant which keys they want, they tell him and he (Drew) gets the keys, as opposed to when Bob was still hosting (IOW, the contestants picked the keys themselves).
there was a playing of master key on today's episode that had this exact outcome (the contestant picked the dud key and the master key)
Yeah baby
The feels.
Yay!! Art supplies!
what pontiac doesnt get recalled?
Awesome, Wayoshi. :)
I love Drew.
The keys to driving well.
There s a episode where Bob barker broke the key in the lock 1 time...I think the gave the contestant all the prizes
how much would you bet that car's now in a junkyard?
Was this taped on March 11, 2009 or did it air on that date (Wed)?
+Alan Bishop it's the air date. the shows are taped about 2 months before they air, I do believe. I could be wrong on that though, lol
+MobileTaz Thank you.
+barber215 It's usually about a week out.... At least is was when I attended a few years back. Taped Mon, aired Fri.
@dstebbin fact that now he can drive to see his brothers that he has not seen in 30 years.
HOLY SHIT HE WON THAT NEVER HAPPENS SO MEMORABLE!
Whoa! He got the key that opened nothing and the key that opened everything. I have never seen that before.
this guy should dress up as the Easter Bunny every year to entertain the kids.
Good for fat Adrian Peterson.
I seriously guess number 5. Like I went through this whole complicated psychology thing and I totally knew the 5th key was gonna win.
drew has really improved as host of tpir.. he's no bob, but he's getting better
cpz1019 No, he talks too much, he is not funny but he thinks he is, he routes for everyone that's spinning the wheel, he proves that the game is not rigged now. lts not a carnival with ripoff games drew. l wish someone who is an out of work comedian could take over because this turkey has too much money as it is. How exactly is this "very memorable?"
It's a new CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
HE FOUND THE DUD KEY
That is really an awesome game. If I were on TPiR, this is t' game I'd want 2 play.
sonofnadd you'd rather play this instead of plinko???
Carey knew the second key worked it all.
So what? Even if he knew which key was which, he did nothing to hint to the contestant which keys to pick.
It's interesting, he found the dud key and the master key. What are the chances that would happen?
Firewizard23 Actually 1/10. Depends on the order though. If it was any, 1/10. If you wanted the master key first or vice versa, 1/20
How come they dont let the contestent pick the keys by themself anymore?
2:20 Drew laughing when the annoucer said "Pain Reliever",,lol
the I love you key won ♥ 🌹
Great script, almost read perfectly.
Good lighting too.
Almost.
it's the guy behind the prop that makes or gets told if someone can win or lose
They actually are keys. They have magnets in the teeth. 3 magnets opens all prizes.
no from 4:28 to 4:54 the sound was cut off from my local station. it was very climactic and somewhat touching.
Terrell u Won 🙆🙆 Everything🤗♥💜💙💖💗❤💕🎇🎆🎊🎇🎆🎊🙆😊😊
what was up with the pee wee herman dance on the way to the locks?
Awesome peewee herman dance
